Grossest Thing You've Seen at the Parks

I think a lot of those rules should go out the window for places like Disneyworld. Nail polish will chip. Sandals will get dirty. Feet will get dirty. Shoes will break.

I know this is the "grossest" thread and we are off topic, :scared1: but I MUST reply to this. I get a pedicure EVERY time I head to WDW. My polish doesn't chip, my feet don't get black, and although they may be tired and sweaty, they still look good - thanks to that glistening coat of paint. (Also like the PP, I apply lotion which helps A LOT):upsidedow

I wear tennis shoes (with socks) to the parks. The end.

Goody for you but why in the world would you expect everyone else who visits WDW to do this? I might get a pedicure once a year but that's because I enjoy it not because I care if other people have some hang-up about unpedicured feet. Those are your issues, not mine.

Eeek. I'm a BIG girl. If I got a Pedi before walking long distances for several days my heels would be split and bleeding after an hour. I earned my calluses ;) Now my feet are clean, lotioned and attended too. No polish, they would take away my butch lesbian card, but nails trim and neat. Now way in heck am I going to try to carry around 290 pounds on freshly Pedi'd feet. :lmao:

I like you two a lot!! Haha. Awesome. :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

Rule number 1 is apparently don't be poor.

Do these strange feet rules apply to men?

I always wear flip flops during the summer and I refuse to get a girly pedicure. Growing up at the beach has rendered my feet hard and ugly. They're covered with hair and pretty much look like Hobbit feet. They have to so they match my legs.

Getting back on the subject. I saw a toddler sucking on a salt shaker once. Shudder.

Well, excuuuuuuse me. Where in my post did you read that I EXPECT everyone to get a pedi. or I have a hang-up? I get one because I enjoy it. I don't do it for anyone else. And issues? Hardly.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith was probably referring more to the person that posted "rules" for wearing flip flops.

But maybe I'm wrong.

Ummmm, the "rules" are a joke and supposed to be funny. Who would have ever imagined that a stupid little thing about pedicures would set people off. :confused3 Only on the DIS! :rotfl:

P.S. I do love to get pedicures because I hate gross feet and I like a little pampering every once in a while but I don't expect everyone else to get them. Lighten up people!

I must agree, gross feet are disgusting. The only thing nastier is puke, but you can't help puke. You can help gross feet.

I live by the rules, and lord forbid my polish chip, as I will be the first person back to the room to repolish.

I've seen the same list in an e-mail...it's a joke. I don't think the OP meant to offend anyone, or meant it as "if you don't get a pedicure, you're gross."

The whole thing with flip flops is that they don't really give you any protection! Especially iin a crowd. I like to wear a good pair of vented hiking shoes, (might try crocs!) mainly because years ago I was wearing flip flops (not at disneyland) and had an accident (was hit by a bicycle), the result was that the tops and sides of my feet were scraped on the cement! felt (and looked) like I used steel wool to take off the skin. Every since then, I have been very aware of the danger of wearing footware tht dosnt give a little protection!

i just don't find flip flops to be at all comfortable. never have. my feet get all sweaty. and i hate the feeling of something between my toes. makes me cringe...haha. i only wear them to the beach (because I know they won't be on for very long) and for grizzly river run at california adventure.

on topic. gross things in the park = people in ill fitting (too tight) clothing. *shutter*

My only problem with Crocs is that they make my shins hurt. I probably walk strange in them, but if I wear them a long period of time, my legs hurt for days. (Of course, I'm also incredibly clumsy and probably should only wear sneakers because I'd lose any other kind of shoe or fall off of them.)

WOW! That's too bad! I LOVE my Crocs! And I have the exact OPPOSITE experience with them...my legs and shins hurt when I wear any other type of shoe except my crocs! (including my New Balance gym shoes!) Talk about clumsy, though, the Crocs have a tendancy of "grabbing" the pergo floor OR really thin carpeting. I feel like such a clutz!! :rotfl:

The grossest thing I've ever seen at the parks is people wearing inapropriate clothing for their body type. AND...I haven't seen this, but I heard some people talking about it at EPCOT. Someone got sick on Mission to Mars and the rest of the "crew" had to go clean up and get a change of clothes when they got off the ride. EEEWWWW!!!!

I was quoting you because I thought you were supporting the people who were saying that they may be high maintenance but they expect people to get pedicures before wearing sandals. Otherwise, I'm not sure why you told us about your pedicures? :confused3

Did they have to go buy clothes to wear?
At California Adventure, my friends dad either got sick or someone threw up on him (can't remember which) on the sun wheel (of death) and they gave him a Disneyland shirt to have/wear.

Well, here it goes...no FLAMES please!

I was sitting on the bus going to the MK and a lady got on and sat next to me, and put her right foot up over her left leg and I got a real good look at her feet!! I thought I would vomit. She was wearing flip flops, and her feet looked like she never got a pedicure, or washed them for that matter. Her heals were black and thick gross dead skin, cracked feet....GROSS.... I may be a little high maintenance but I believe you should get a pedicure if your going to wear sandals or flip flops. I also use a foot cream every night to keep my feet looking good inbetween pedicures. If you can't afford the pedicure, do it yourself!
Some of the elderly that come in for surgery in my hospital-their feet would give you nightmares! Poor things, especially if they come from a nursing home, because they have to wait for a podiatrist to come and cut their toenails(especially if they are diabetic). Some of their toenails look like claws!

The lady you're talking about...I know when I wear my Crocs in Disney, my feet get dirty just from being in the parks. I do have a friend that does pedicures in a salon, and she said you'd be surprised at the people that come in with dirty, nasty, smelly feet. Maybe they want to get their money's worth? At any rate, I do my own pedicures-I'm very ticklish and the idea of a stranger touching my feet makes me uneasy.:lmao:
