Special 5 night Bahamas 9/1/08 Are you going?

I personally would be happy to find a couple hershey's nuggets or similar in my fe - it's not the size of the gift that matters, it's the anticipation and fun of there being a surprise! No one has to go broke with this stuff.

When I figure out the spreadsheet, I will share it with anyone who wants it.

Thank you in advance! Hopefully we will all have our cabin numbers by the time of final payment or by the time documents are sent out. Will there be any central place to leave information about a change in cabin numbers if it should happen to anyone? I found out last year on the Med repo that my cabin number had been changed (an upgrade, luckily!) when we got to the dock.

Speaking of upgrades and room changes, are we going to have a central location to post those changes, so we can find people after we get on board? Since this is a short cruise, I would think that it would not be necessary for a contact room on each deck, but maybe just one room we could all check for changes?

Let's let some of the people who had strong opinions chime in here . . . I am totally OK with the idea of everyone who wants to hang a FE up getting gifts whether they give out any or not . . . I just know that on any cruise I have been on, not everyone hangs a FE. So I thought a list of those who plan to have one is a good idea.

Hey Julie.....

I had to cancel my EBPC but I am still on this cruise. So I would be happy with finding a postcard in my FE from the ports I am going to be missing!!! Just a hint for ya....:)

Cant wait to see you and the girls again in a few "short" months.

Pam;

I didn't know you had canceled the EBPC! That's too bad . . . But it will be great to see you on this one -- I only booked it fairly recently when I realized that the girls' school starts back very late in 2008 because of some construction over the summer. Thanks for the idea about the postcards! That will be easy to do!

Ok-sounds like we are clear on the FE's and trinkets/gifts.:thumbsup2

But how do we contribute to the lanyards? I know soemone was organizing it and i think sending PM's. I would like to help by contributing to this so what do I do?
Wait for a PM?:confused3

My wife and I are also on this cruise. This will be cruise number 7 for us. We've done 3 - 4 day cruises, 1 - 7-day Eastern cruise, and 2 7-day Western cruises. This 5 day cruise is a first for us. Looking forward to 2 days at Castaway Cay.:)

Sorry, forgot to say, "Good Evening" to everyone.

Hope you've had a pleasant day.

Yes, two days at CC seems like heaven, doesn't it?

Lost your manners temporarily in a panic over the potential of having an English rival on the cruise, did you, David????:goodvibes

There is no real "arranging" for the gift giving.

In past cruises that I have been on, you use the roster as your count for the "gift" giving. These "gifts" are just little surprises. You, yourself deliver them to each stateroom/fishextender whenever you see fit. Usually the giving goes on for most of the cruise, depending on how many people are participating. It's kind of like Christmas, as you come back to your stateroom many times throughout the day and there will be surprises in your fish extender, or for those that don't have a fish extender the surprises can be left hanging on the fish, doorknob, etc. You do not have to have a fish extender to participate.

Most people leave a little note on the gift with who it is from.

Not really any big deal, very easy. Participate in the giving or not.
Decide what you will give. Pack it up and take it to the port with you, or ship ahead and let it be delivered to your stateroom for giving when you arrive. Even if you don't give, others will and if you have a stateroom listed on the roster you will receive gifts. People who give the gifts give to all on the roster (as far as I know).

Hope this helps!

Yep! Yep! Yep!

We always used the roster for any "gift giving" I assumed the FE list was if there was going to be a decorating contest???

Other than that, it doesn't make any difference if you have one or not. Again... it's not a mandatory thing. Folks go in together on something if they want to.

I'd better get busy!!! :rotfl:

Greetings everyone from a very blustery and cold :cold: Canada!!!!

The current temperature is 15º F but when you factor in the wind chill it feels more like -4º F......BRRRRRRR!!!!!!

We have also experienced over 100km (62 mile) per hour winds all day.....thank goodness today wasn't our garbage day!!!!!!

Is it September yet??????

P.S. Georgie....do you have any room in your suitcase for a "frozen" Canadian??????

Is that all? The actual temp here this morning was -10 with wind chills approaching -30 :scared1:

We do not have an actual fish extender, but we do have a locker pocket that has a magnet on it that we use. We just attach it to the outside of the door near the knob and it is easy to place things in it. The great thing about it is we can use it year round at home in our home office to hold small objects. They are easy to find when the school supplies start appearing in the store and they run around $8. Just a suggestion for those that do not have fish extenders.

:scared1: Good evening everyone! We had some bad weather also. Last night the winds came through and tore the guttering off of the back of the house. It also blew some of the tin roof off of our barn. It picked up my iron patio table and tossed it about 10 feet away. It was 20 when I left for work this morning. I didn't realize it had gotten that rough last night until I went out this evening.

Morning Everyone!

Not a whole lot to say, just wanted to get us off of page 2!

Hope everybody has a great day!

Good morning everyone! This morning I was told that our cruise is sold out! I know this can and will change but just wanted you all to know.
