Deborah - try asking Keith & Olivia's teachers if there is a project that they can do about the Panama Canal.

Maybe that would work.

I worry a little about using the laundry service in case clothes shrink etc, and as I am going to stretch anyway that would be a problem.:lmao: Most of our clothes say 'do not tumble dry' unlike yours.

We've used the laundry service with no problems, and both DH and I would certainly notice if anything shrunk! We've used them to have our formal clothes just pressed. Then we sent a couple of things to be laundered and DH was so impressed that last time he sent shirts and trousers to be laundered ready to take home. :rolleyes1

But they didn't manage to rescue my nice pink t-shirt from that chocolate ice cream I spilt on it on the flight over. :rotfl:

Goodmorning all, Man did we get hit with a storm last night! And another is coming tonight. Our friends from Santa Clarita got hammered.

Thanks Kelly. Today I was just waiting for a return phone call from the pediatrician's office to see whether she wants to see Tyler or if we should go directly to our neurologist. The pediatrician wants to see him first, but she's on vacation and won't be back until a week from Monday, so that's when our appointment is.

Let us know about that tingling.

Welcome all of our new folks

On the way to school this morning, Tyler asked me if I remember the pirate ship we went on for his birthday in Tampa. Our Florida friends (Heather/ThreeBritts treated us to that when we visited them). Then he asked if we'd get to go on another pirate ship when we go on the cruise. So I told him about the pirate ship excursion I was thinking about doing, but wasn't sure about how he'd handle the heat all day and explained to him that it's much longer than the one we did before when he had problems. He said, "That's OK mom, I really want to do it, so I promise I won't get grouchy if I get hot. And I won't wear my pirate outfit so I won't get so hot". So we might be doing that!

But when I told him this one takes us to a beach to swim for a while and have lunch before taking us back to the dock, and he said, "Uh oh....will the sea water give me problems again like last time?" He has VERY sensitive skin and when we were in FL in June, he was in the water for about 15 minutes. He couldn't even walk back to the car because his legs were completely raw in the area where diaper rash would be on babies. It was awful and looked so painful. Took a couple days to clear up. So he's a bit nervous to be in the ocean again because of that. :guilty: He does get rashes very easily, so I don't blame him a bit for worrying.

That is a real bummer. Usually salt water heals, is it possible he got stung or it was contaminated? We get very contaminated run-off water after the big rains. They have to constantly put out warnings to all the surfers.

From Making Memories:
I lost my firstborn daughter when she was just four. She was here one day and gone the next. So many things I wish we had done together and places we had gone together. Now I do not put off anything I can do today with my kids such as this cruise. Hence my name I am all about Making_Memories.
My only mission in life is to make sure my children will always remember mom was fun, we did big things together mom and I, and she loves me more then anything in the whole world
.

No parent should outlive their child. I have a 4 year old now and that is the story that makes me hold her close. I'm so sorry for your loss, but it does sound like you have made a wonderful life for your surviving children.

OK....not having any daughters, I'm SO CONFUSED. Are Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus the same person? If so, which one is real? Neither one looks like she's wearing a wig, so I can't figure it out. Sorry to be so clueless, but again....no daughters. :lmao:

OK Holly, Hannah Montana 101:
Hannah is a normal everyday high school kid with brown hair, but she is keeping a secret life from her classmates. At night she is a singing celebrity with a huge fan club and does concerts with a blond wig to stay in disguise. Her father (who is her real father in real life) also wears a fake mustache disguise so that they can keep their private life private. She often has close calls where other kids may figure out who she is. She doesn't want to be treated differently at school, so she and her best friend keep her secret. It's a cute show.

Nan, I'll check out the options today.

I'm thinking we will need our formal clothes pressed after all the travelling. I think I will look at laundering items that might be more difficult to iron, or that would look better ironed as in case I don't feel like too much ironing! No new black or bright coloured clothes though!!

Aaagh, chocolate stains!:sad2:

We're off early for a flight to Northern Ireland to visit our ex DIL and our grandson. Back Monday evening. :)

Perhaps this site will be sorted by then or it might take till May just to catch up on what I have missed!!!!:lmao:

Have to get up about 4am. Ah well, a little rehearsal for Feb 10th and reservation making day as they open at 5am our time!!!

Thanks Kelly! Now it's crystal clear. Sounds cute!

Marilyn  :lovestruc - hope you feel better.

I personally would go with the facial (and massages) over a work out ANY day of the week :thumbsup2

Monica, you're so sweet, but my aches are self inflicted. I did an abs class at the gym yesterday. Good job I don't have a proper cough though!

Marilyn - have a fun and safe trip! We'll miss you over the weekend :goodvibes

Holly - hope the tv thing straightens out for you. I know my nephew lived on PBS.

Marilyn - have a great time!

Holly - that is weird about Tyler in the water. I wonder if he got into any jelly fish or sea lice or anything. As pp said - salt water is usually very healing.
You may want to pick up some Safe Sea (or maybe it's called Sea Safe)...it's like a sunscreen for the water.

What spa treatments are you all going to splurge on?

With my face being a problem I probably will stay away from facials, but I want massages!!!!!!!:)

Never had reflexology but it sounds good too.

I am not sure we'll splurge on anything. Maybe try out the rainforest. I would love a villa, but I would rather have the money to spend on multiple things rather than just one thing.

Surprisingly John was interested in a villa until he saw the price!!:lmao: I can have quite a few treatments for that cost!!!!:lmao:

I won a dress for Mexico night....hopefully this works...

Marilyn - I hope to have atleast 1 swedish massage...not sure what else.

Does anyone else remember Mitch Gaylord - part of the winning 1984 men's olympic gymnastics team??? (he also stared in the 1986 movie called "American Anthem"). I turned on the tv this morning while getting ready and happend on an infomercial w/ Mitch. He has a new exercise program called Melt It Off with Mitch. There is a deal going on right now where you can buy the program for $14.95 plus s/h. I'm tempted to buy it just to look at him! I had the biggest crush on him back then :lovestruc

I'm thinking it was just irritation from being in a wet swimsuit, no chance for those areas to dry, heat, sand in there, all that combined with very sensitive skin. Same thing happens when he gets sweaty in the summer, but on a lesser scale. Same with if he doesn't dry off really well in all creases after a bath (but not as major). This was right where the legs of underwear would rub, right between the legs, and nowhere else, so I think it's just from trapped moisture.
