Zac Efron was in the crowd last night and you should have seen the swarm of girls swarming at his feet.

BUT, I'm not talking about the little girls - it was all the Mom's!

Well as of today I am going to the Philippines on Feb.9th and returning on Feb 28th. I will be going back sometime in late March.

Like John said I am both excited and reluctant. It can be a dangerous place but I have to believe that GE will do it's best to keep me safe, although in December someone from our office was there and a tank ran into the hotel they were staying in. It was an attempted Govt. overthrow.... She had to be evacuated to a hotel near the embassy and came home early...

I will be going with another person so there will be two of us that is a good thing.

Amy....what a great experience! I understand being both excited and reluctant, but I hope you will have a fabulous time!

I can't do laundry on the boat as I am allergic to laundry detergent. The left over in the machines also hurts me. So we have to pack 18nights worth of clothes each!!!

House Party has still not responded to me. This is aggravating.

Ok now the sad new: My dad has cancer and my DM's best friend has Lukemea. They told DM's friend there was a 90% chance of remission and she is in the early stages.

Anxious to know what happened at the doctor.

Thanks Kelly. Today I was just waiting for a return phone call from the pediatrician's office to see whether she wants to see Tyler or if we should go directly to our neurologist. The pediatrician wants to see him first, but she's on vacation and won't be back until a week from Monday, so that's when our appointment is.

He was also in 10 things I hate about you...A knoght's tale was funny.

I didn't see either of those. But he must have been well known because he was the talk everywhere I went today. Sad.

Just wanted to say hi to u all from Scotland! This is my first cruise coming up so am lookin fwd to it with my partner Ali and our friends Deborah,Ian and Keith and Olivia.

Congrat amy....travel on the company is always better than paying yourself. My little brother works for GE and he travelled for over a year. Mostly to China, Thailand and Canada. He's based in Sacramento, but he does alot of work in SF. Anyways, it probably a place you never would have gone to so try to see some of the sights when your not working. My friends husband is working there...he's very busy and they hate to be apart (she's here in calif still) but she's been going over on holidays and he came back here at xmas. Very interesting..
Side note..her husband was even stationed in Antartica for 6 months. We had our kids web chatting with him when he was down there. Talk about a trip of a lifetime!

On the way to school this morning, Tyler asked me if I remember the pirate ship we went on for his birthday in Tampa. Our Florida friends (Heather/ThreeBritts treated us to that when we visited them). Then he asked if we'd get to go on another pirate ship when we go on the cruise. So I told him about the pirate ship excursion I was thinking about doing, but wasn't sure about how he'd handle the heat all day and explained to him that it's much longer than the one we did before when he had problems. He said, "That's OK mom, I really want to do it, so I promise I won't get grouchy if I get hot. And I won't wear my pirate outfit so I won't get so hot". So we might be doing that!

But when I told him this one takes us to a beach to swim for a while and have lunch before taking us back to the dock, and he said, "Uh oh....will the sea water give me problems again like last time?" He has VERY sensitive skin and when we were in FL in June, he was in the water for about 15 minutes. He couldn't even walk back to the car because his legs were completely raw in the area where diaper rash would be on babies. It was awful and looked so painful. Took a couple days to clear up. So he's a bit nervous to be in the ocean again because of that. He does get rashes very easily, so I don't blame him a bit for worrying.

I think it would be great to send these off before we cruise, but it would be a big under taking. I'll coordinate if I get some people to help with the work.

Ok mind you I am 30 pages behind STILL LOL So I may not be up to date on this......... but I live not too far from you and I would help with the mailing of these if you choose to go that route. I have a big ole laser jet at home and could print out address labels for us or envies if we go that route. I could also meet you for a mini Dis meet/lanyard making/sending day and the kids could meet and play. Just lemme know if you would like help and we can plan a date.

Ok, so here's a BIG bummer...when we sailed the magic last our friends had 2612 and 2610 and those rooms did not have steamer trunk because there's not a niche in the room for it (don't know why). So, this sailing we're in 2112 and I asked the agent if the room was configured the same as 2612 and she checked...sure enough...it is configured the same and it does not have a steamer trunk. How will we make it for two weeks without a steamer trunk!?!? UGH! I'm so not happy about that! Anyone got suggestions on a good plan for where we're going to put all our clothes for 4 people, aside from the small closet??

We have never had a steamer trunk, but we never had a family of four in one room. We had three adult men (DH, DS#1 and DS#2) in a Category 11. They managed by having two of them unpack in the drawers and the third lived out of his duffle. I don't think anyone used the cabinet over the TV so that was wasted space.

DG (Darling Girl who is now DIL) and I shared a room and we were neat and orderly, but that's how we are anyway.

That got me thinking that if you had suitcases that were slim enough to fit under the bed, you could use them like drawers. Pull them out to get the clothing and push them in to get the floorspace.
