Help! Can someone answer a question quickly? I had my first event today and I'm ready to report it. It's asking me for my swipe time which was 9:41 and swipe out at 2:01. When it puts that in (as copied from my receipts) it says that I was only authorized to work 4 hours and if I press the continue button, that I'm in violation of company policy. What should I do? They're going to see my receipts with the times so I don't want to lie and just put 10-2 like my event is supposed to be. I'm confused, please help so I can finish this report!! TIA

If it's a 4 hr event, you can enter upto 4.5 hrs total. I think it tells you in the FAQ or Help section that you have a 1/2 hr for extra time. As long as you don't enter more time before or after swipe in/out times to add up to more than 4.5 hrs you'll be ok.

Thanks cynjam! I tried to put in the amount that would be 4 1/2 hours or less but it kept giving me the same message. I just ended up putting in 10-2 so hopefully that will be okay.

Nothing will happen, but in the future, make your swipe times about 15-20 minutes less than the event time, which allows you setup time and reporting time. You won't get any warnings if you do it that way.

Have you done that before? Do you still get paid the full amount? I'm afraid to try it because I was one of the lucky ones to be docked $30 for swiping out 2 minutes early. It was with TMT, but I didn't want to risk it.

Thanks...but to make sure I understand correctly. I was under the impression that I'm supposed to be set up and giving out samples at say 10am. I gave myself extra time to set up, find the manager, locate and count the product and swipe in so I was ready to go at 10. I started to break down at 1:40 (for a 10-2 event) so I could clean up, go through the store and get the manager to sign the store report. I was able to swipe out at 2:01. In other words, I should get my stuff together but not swipe until much closer the event start time or should I just be setting up at the start time? Thank goodness I have everyone here at the DIS boards because I received little to no info in my welcome packet. I would have been really, really lost without you all. Thanks again!

That's all I ever do and I get paid the full amount every time. Prior to this, I made sure my swipe times were exactly what the event time was, but since the online reporting started, this is what works with no warnings.

I've always been with SPi, I've heard a lot of horror TMT stories (online and in person).

You can do it like that, which sounds more logical I know, but you will get warnings every time you try to do online reporting. It's a pay-per-event job and your total time should equal what the event time is, and your pre/post event duties should not exceed 30 minutes (30 minutes of the total event time).

I just received a email stating I should be getting a telephone interview, I'm assuming they will be calling me, right? There is no time listed as to when to expect this call, would love some feedback on how this works ;)

:scared1: You're leaving and I'm just getting started!

I filled out my application today, and will have the jurat signed and faxed tomorrow. I tried to PM but my post count is too low.

How many posts do I need to PM? I'd better get busy!

Don't worry about it...I'm just starting too! Where are you at? I did my first event Saturday - I was nervous about it but it was easy and fun.

I think it took me about a week or so to hear back after I sent my jurat in. They called on Friday around 5.

I'm glad to hear that your first event went well. I'm a little nervous about it, but handing nifty things out has to be more fun than my last "real" job.

I'm in Ohio.
