I live in the Saugus area of SoCal and thought I would share a few pictures of what the last two days have been like here.

I hope everyone out here is doing ok.

I can't even begin to imagine. Please be safe everyone!

The folks on the DVC member cruise right now got to watch the shuttle launch! I know some people here got to see that once too (I remember seeing great pics posted here). SO COOL!

It's almost too scary to even comprehend. On our local news that I'm watching now, an MSU grad student just returned from SoCal yesterday after attending a wedding out there and was talking about how shocking it was and said it looked like a war zone.

Glad to see that your appointment went well today, and great that Tyler's dad was engaged and cooperative. I bet it was a big sigh of relief.

To everyone in SoCal . . .

I keep forgetting that I am making my FIRST trip to California NEXT weekend. I am sure things are bound to change with everything that is going on with the fires by then.

I am flying into Orange County next Saturday, and staying at the Disneyland Hotel for the Conference that I am attending at the Anaheim Convention Center.

I was just thinking today too . . . with this impromptu trip Amy planned, I am going to Disney World and Disney Land in the SAME week.

How lucky can anyone be?

I am really looking forward to finally seeing Disneyland. I have a couple of events that I was invited to also by sponsors - a night at House of Blues in DTD, and an evening at "The Grove" in Anaheim.

Any suggestions for Disneyland on your own, let me know. Most of my evening will be free, and I look forward to exploring. Hoping to meet up with Jordan from a previous cruise, and a friend who lives 20 minutes from DL.

Yup, I was pleasantly surprised at Tyler's dad's cooperation today. He even told me we'll discuss how payment will work (I paid the full amount today). Stepmom piped up and told him it's supposed to just be 50/50, which isn't true, it's technically supposed to be 90/10, and indeed, he told her, "No, I should be paying for this" which REALLY made her face turn angry. But later in the day, we spoke on the phone and he told me that since neither of us can really afford this right now, he'll reimburse me for 1/2. I'll settle for that though because originally it seemed he wasn't going to pay for any of it.

I felt like I was going to keep eating tonight too . . . so I took the dog for a two mile walk, feel much better, and it seems to kill the munchies. It finally stopped raining here, but it is cooling off too. Now in the low 50's - great for a brisk walk.

I find a walk works for me too. And for the times like now, when Tyler's in bed and I can't go for a walk, I used to just start doing crunches. Worked GREAT! But I'm just too darned lazy to do that this time! Now, off I go to the kitchen to get a brownie!

Yeah, I wish Amy and Sophia could come too . . . I really dislike travel by myself. I'm OK during the day and keeping busy, but really hate coming back to the hotel by myself.

Originally they were thinking about coming too, and then Amy decided not to take the time off right now . . . so what does she do? Books us a trip to WDW the weekend before instead.

I'm not complaining though . . .

Is anyone here a Springsteen fan???

I got his new album last week on iTunes, "Magic" and just love it! I think it is his best album in years.

I keep singing "Radio Nowhere" in my head.

Springsteen is probably the second best concert I have ever been to. The Boss really puts on a show (at least he did about 25 years ago! )

Time for bed. Got to open the office early, and have to take dad to a Doctor's appointment. Then we have TOT in the hallways at our High School for Sophia tomorrow evening.

I'm SO glad I only work 4 hours tomorrow because my boss will be back to work tomorrow (was supposed to be back today but never showed up) and will be in a frantic panic to get caught up. I guess I'd better get some sleep so I'm "wide eyed and bushy tailed" as my mom always says. Goodnight John!

Holly.....so glad it went so very well for Tyler today....that's what he needs.

John1....I love Springsteen....I have his double album set of greatest hits and love every song. I'd love to hear his new stuff.
