I'm single, am 23, from the UK and coming out on Oct 7th on International College Programme (postgrad hospitality management)
i'm doing quick service food and bev.
I;m down here now...but on the International Cultral rep for 1 year!!!!
I haven't heard of that before, what is it?
Us international folk can come over on a number of programmes, heres some info to put you in the know:
Both Cultural Reps and International College programme people live in Disney Accomodation i.e Chatham, Vista Way, Treehouse Villas and The Commons!
Unlike College Program, International Programme people can't extend because of their visa's.
The International Cultural Rep Programme - This is a 12 month program, which only participants from EPCOT World Showcase countries can participate. Cultural Reps can only work in the pavillion they represent (something to do with their visa's.) For example UK Cult Reps will either work in the Rose and Crown, the Fish and Chip Shop or in a UK pavillon Shop.
The International College Programme - This is the program I am going out on. This programme covers a number of countries from the UK to Austrialia and Canada to Peru and Singapore. International College Programme roles are literally the same as College program and can be based anywhere in WDW.
There are three strands -
Summer Work Experience - this is for International students who wish to spend their summer holidays working for disney.
J1 Academic Exchange - Again this is for international students however, they spend 6 months to 1 year at Disney, and distance learn with a American university.
Grad Hospitality Management - This is a newish program for graduates of all displines, where international students can study for a postgrad certificate in hospitality management at Rosen College (part of UCF) and worlkat WDW for six months whilst studying.
There are also other programmes which internationals come out on, but i don't know which ones are running at the mo.
Hope this helps!!!
