Hi everyone,
Just wanted to quickly post about my first moderate stay that I just got home from late on the 12th.
It was my sister and I and my DD11. We usually stay in a deluxe (GF or Poly), but we really loved CSR. The grounds were beautiful, I thought the staff was very friendly, and my sister loved the fitness room and running/walking trails. My DD11 loved the food court, and it never seemed that crowded in there to us. It was a little confusing, but we did not eat in there much. The food portions were huge! My sister loved the taco salads there.
The last day we were there there must have been a huge conference or something, because the Magical Express check-in at 8 am the day we left was very crowded, as well as the ME bus to the airport, and the PM later that day was crowded too. I was very happy to be leaving because there were ALOT of people there for that gathering/conference.

The best part for me was the busses! I don't know if I just hit it lucky, or CSR is the best on property, but everytime we got to the bus stop there was a bus to our destination waiting. Alot of times we had to hurry because it was already there. And if there was not one there, I never waited more than 5-10 minutes, save 1 or 2 rare instances where it was closer to 10. They always took notice if someone was running to the stop and would wait for them. I appreciated that, and was not used to that from the monorail :headache: . Our bus stop locations at the parks were also one of the closest to the entrances. MGM, Epcot, and MK coming to mind.
Having always rented a car, and using the monorail, it was so convenient to get to the parks.

We requested Cabanas or Casitas and got Ranchos :confused3, but we did check in a little later in the evening. They were sold out (Labor day weekend) but were able to get us into 9B on Labor Day (we checked in on Saturday evening, so not bad.) We loved the location of Cabanas 9B!
Every time we had something to work out with the hotel, including the room switch, the staff was very nice and friendly.

All in all, it was a great trip, and I would not hesitate to stay at CSR again!

I'm glad you had a good time, we were also at CSR over the Labor Day weekend we arrived on Thursday and noticed by Friday night and Saturday that a lot more people started checking in, CSR is so big that I never felt overcrowded I just saw more people at the Digsite and more cars in the parking lot, we rented a car so I never noticed the buses, by Tuesday the place was emptying out. How did you like the Cabanas? We were in Cabanas 9A and enjoyed being near the quiet pool and a short walk to the Dig Site and ElCentro. We are returning next year and although we really enjoyed our location I'm thinking about requesting the Casitas's for a change since it also a pretty area with the different fountains and my DS liked going to the gym and would probably have used it more if we were closer I just don't know if I want to be further from the Digsite. :) Linda

We arrived on Saturday, September 1, and notoiced that by Monday/Tuesday that the resort was emptying out. We stayed in Casitas 5 and it is not that far of a walk to the Dig Site.

I can give some input on this.....

I stayed @ CSR 8/24-8/26 (before sadly having to move to POR) and we had Casitas 4....room

.... We were just steps from the pool and practically connected to the fitness center. ....

While we didn't have a true waterview room (better then a parking lot) we LOVED this location. I was in 6A last year---UGH that was horrible. Faced the parking lot and El Centro was a million miles away...

Not so much in Casitas 4...We had maybe a 3-4 minute walk to everything---even to get over to the Dig Site. Bus stop directly behind our building. Very enjoyable location and the quiet pool by the fitness center seemed pretty dead everytime we used it or passed it.

.... I will request this building for all future stays @ CSR. ....

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! You have really put my mind at ease about my choices. I really enjoyed the pix!!! :thumbsup2

My Quick Review - we stayed 9/9-9/14....had a wonderful time!!! We stayed in Cabanas 8a, closer to the laundry station between 9b/8a....which I ended up using, very convenient (bring lots of quarters ;-))

The room was very clean, service was nice....we did end up eating at Pepper Market a few times....our first time was lunch and it was super crazy since there was a convention going on and must have just gotten released for lunch. I ended up waiting at the kids station for over 3 minutes before asking another station to come help me...and it was our first time using our QSM dining option, and the restaurant host was not helpful in explaining how it worked..the kid drinks were ordered at the table, but supposed to be included with their meal at the station, they didn't charge us extra, must be a common mistake. I liked all the choices and checking out was very easy IMO. We also ate breakfast and dinner there over the 5 days....those experiences were much better since it wasn't super busy. Some of the custom choices took longer to cook, but were always done in a few minutes.

We loved the dig site, the kids (and us) enjoyed the slide and DS enjoyed the sand area. We also rented the family bike and toured the resort, it was a lot of fun!

The bus service to the parks was very convenient, and I loved the fact that Coronado Springs was always the first or so bus stop to come back to the resorts, less walking. We did have to stand on the bus a few times at park close time, but that is expected.

My tip for Sept: Bring ponchos - it rained every night, we even missed some shows because they had to cancel them with the lightening being too close....saw many many people buying the Disney ones - not sure what the price was, but ours were $4 at Walmart.

Thanks to everyone on here for helping me prepare and plan - my DH was very thankful for the tips I had learned before we arrived - it really was a magical stay at Disney!!!

It's not a mistake that they did'nt charge you extra for the drinks they brought to the table at the PM they were included in your DDP and that is how they do it at the PM, the server brings your drinks and cleans off your table when you are done. :) Linda

I just thought of another question. I booked a water view room HA room. I would prefer a King room instead and since they cost the same, should I call them and request a King now, or wait till I get there since most HA rooms are king?

Wow that's a long run on sentence. hehe

Hi, I'm new to this site and had a ? about CSR. Does the King Room have 2 king beds or just 1. My familly (me, dh, ds & dd) will be staying here 12/18-12/22!!! We would love have 2 kings if it is an option!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks alot!!!

I know somewhere?, on one of these sites?, on one of these pages?, I saw a list of CSR convention dates. Does anyone know how where it was or if you could post a link that would be wonderful?

I would like to see if it has been updated since last I saw it. I specifically am looking for last week of Nov and first week of Dec 2007? Curious to see if there will be a convention and if so, who I will be sharing the resort with?

Thanks to anyone who can shed a little light on this.

JUST BACK FROM 8 DAYS/7 NIGHTS STAYING AT CSR. THIS MUST NOT HAVE BEEN OUR YEAR. FLIGHT LANDED 7PM FRI. 7TH SEPT. DIDNT GET TO CSR UNTIL ALMOST 8:30 WITH ME. DIDNT GET TO A PARK UNTIL 9:30 AT EPCOT. PUSHED OURSELVES TOO MUCH. OKAY BACK TO CSR , REQUESTED CABANA 9B ,GOT RANCHOS 6B. WHAT WAS THAT. TRIED TO GET MOVED, BUT WOULDNT MOVE US UNTIL THE NEXT DAY, MAYBE. WE STAYED WHERE WE WERE IN THE RANCHOS. NEVER AGAIN. TOO FAR FROM EVERYTHING.
SERVICE WAS THE WORST WE HAVE HAD AT THIS RESORT IN 3 YEARS OF STAYING HERE. GOT IN ROOM, CEILING FAN DIDNT WORK, ALARM CLOCK DIDNT WORK(USE IT FOR BACK-UP TO PHONE CALL). HAD TO CALL NEXT DAY TO GET ALL THIS FIXED, FIXED CEILING FAN BUT STILL WITH JUST ONE SPEED AND ALARM CLOCK NEVER FIXED. WE WERE ON THE 2ND FLOOR OF A MOSTLY EMPTY BUILDING. BUT THE PEOPLE WHO WERE STAYING THERE WERE ALL AROUND US. I THINK WE WERE ALL GROUPED IN THE SAME CLUSTER OF ROOMS. VERY NOISY. HOTEL STAFF COMPLETELY DISREGARDING YOU AS A GUEST. WE TAKE A BREAK FROM THE PARKS AT 2:00 TO REST. ROOM WAS NEVER CLEANED UNTIL OUR 4TH DAY THERE. PEPPER MARKET STAFF WAS WORST THAN LAST YEAR. NEVER GOT REFILLS HAD TO GET THEM OURSELVES EACH TIME. WE ATE LUNCH THERE 3 TIMES AND IT NEVER GOT ANY BETTER. WE HAD SEVERAL MESSAGES ABOUT ODD THINGS THAT DIDNT PERTAIN TO US, SUCH AS CHECKING OUT 2 DAYS AFTER WE GOT THERE? OVER CREDIT LIMIT AFTER 3 DAYS AND HARDLY CHARGING ANYTHING. $1000 CREDIT LIMIT IN THE BEGINNING AND HADNT CHARGED $100 YET. I WILL POST MORE LATER, IT MAKES MAD TO KEEP THINKING ABOUT ALL THIS...:confused3

Sorry you had such a bad experience at the CSR. We had just the opposite when we were there September 1 - 9. The staff was wonderful and did everything they could for us, our room was cleaned every day before noon or 1:00 p.m. (we would go to the parks early and come back for a swim around that time and our room was always tended to); we asked for extra towels for the quiet pool and they left us extra towels every day; we only ate at Pepper Market twice (must admit it is not our favorite place to eat, but the service was fine when we were there).
