well I though so too.

but someone else pointed out that the suites in other resorts had a full kitchen. So Disney could go that way (finally).

don't know about the washer & dryer in each villa (suite).

so the plans were for DVC resorts but could be used for suites at the CR.

on the plans in the hands of the suppliers definitely say CR suites (not DVC)

Maybe Dr P may be referring to one of the very reasons CRV points would be attractive to me: they would be more liquid in resale, more rentable and therefore worth more. Not that I would plan on renting them, as I have not rented before and don't plan to. But I'm always thinking about the true value of what I'm getting for my money.

When someone plans to visit WDW for the first time and has a chance to rent points for use within walking distance of the MK and on the monorail(versus OKW or SSR or even BWV or BCV) I think they would be more likely to choose the MK. When most people think of WDW that's what they think of first and foremost. Not epcot or SAB or AK or MGM.

I might and probably would stay at CRV if the dates I wanted were open, and I wouldn't mind buying points there, but only if a good re-sale contract came along in a few years. I'm not in any rush, even if it were to open next week, to add-on there.

We have no interest on buying or staying at CRV.
However, I do hope they build it. I think it will add a whole new dimension to the Club. :smokin:

The thing is, (and I think Dr. P is getting at) that with the addition of this resort the consequences could be a large scale "crack down" on rentals. Which would take away the value you see in those points.
Dr. P, am I getting close or am I way off?

I don't think cracking down on rentals will effect value at all, I doubt they could or would anyway, perhaps if anything it would enhance them because they would then be even more exclusive and only members would be able to use them. I bought my points planning to use them and if I can't for some reason then I bank them. If people are all worried they can't rent them or whatever then maybe they should look at another type of timeshare. I'll buy them at CRV if they ever become a reality with the purpose of using them there too.:confused3 I just love these cryptic conversations where you have to try and figure out what the heck people are trying to say like Dr. P, and interpret their meaning, just spit it out in plain english man.....

Not even warm. If that were the case, I would be at the front of the line asking them to add this resort, LOL!

Well, these days I'm feeling the same way. With my latest rental nightmare I'd give my points away before I go through that headache again.

The only thing I can think of other than that issue is 7 and 11 month booking window complications. Don't know exactly how that relates to owners at other resorts though. :confused3 I'm completely lost

I find it interesting that it's about even.

If I add up the WILL BUY and Might buy if circumstances allow, it's around 120.

The WON'T BUY and stay but not buy, add up to around 117.

I fall into the will buy if circumstances allow...and of course, IF DVC is actually offered there.

I have absolutely no interest in owning there and honestly would probably only stay there once to check it out.

The idea of CRV holds no interest at all for us. Eventually we'd like to stay at all of the DVC resorts, so we might try it once. But to be honest, I don't understand all of the fuss about CRV. I don't see how it would come close to the other resorts on theme, but that's JMO.

The Contemporary was the first Disney property that we stayed at and we loved it! :goodvibes I would absolutely love having CRV as my next purchase. We hold a special place in our hearts for the Contemporary!

We are new DVC members, but like many, we are already talking about when we add on, where will it be? Do we add on at AKV, where we already own? Add on at BWV or BC because we love Epcot? Or do we add on at CRV? We love the CR. It would be tempting, but a tough decision.

I also need some clarification on this walkway thing.

I have no interest whatsoever and I personally think the design will do to the MK what the Swan and Dolphin did to the BW and YC/BC area. Ruin the look.
