point out the thread please.

because I have no idea of what you are talking about.

I'm assuming it's one of two things (neither of which seems worthy of wink-wink innuendo rather than open discussion):

1. Potential for theft / crime due to easy guest access
2. People parking at the CR and walking to the MK

Those are my best guesses. IMO, both of these can be easily addressed with the right controls in place.

Sometimes it's just not appropriate to connect the dots. This happens to be one of those times. Look at the recurring threads over the years and you will figure out why this is such a HUGE issue, including one current thread on these boards. I understand why people would be excited by this, but this is one of the single WORST locations that DVC could open a resort because of these issues.

Is it bigger than a bread box?

My thoughts exactly. And all of the resorts are restricted for resort guest parking and not for use by those looking to walk to a park. So I still don't see the need for a barrier.

Don't know what you are thinking about, Jim. Think about the hotel-based DVC resorts and your statement is simply not true about parking (at least in practice), though it has been true for conventional resorts. The problems that have occurred at BCV and BWV will be multiplied with a MK resort, especially CR.

If this turns out to be a DVC resort, it will be interesting to speculate why DVC planners have such a completely different viewpoint than you do.

Are there parking problems at BCV? We've never stayed there, but have stayed at BWV and never had a parking issue there. I don't see any problem as long as the CMs enforce the rules. And why would a DVC make it worse than regular hotel rooms? The parking is still there, DVC or not.

Voted "Will Not". We have never stayed at CR and probably won't stay at CRV. I think it is the high-rise aspect that turns us off.

Not a whole lot of interest in buying there, but would probably stay there - eventually. I think a brand new, themed all-DVC resort would be ideal. It looks too space-age to feel like home for me. Although my opinion may change over time...

it's not.

I think some people don't like the CR but are jealous of the walking path to the MK.

CR lately has refused to allow non-CR guest to park here and walk over. That will get your car towed.

I will definitely buy!!!! waited almost 15 years for a DVC monrail and I am not about to let it pass me by.

if it is built and is a DVC, I will buy it!.....

.

I agree.
DH and I looked at Old Key West 15 years ago and decided not to buy DVC.
We both agreed if a DVC was built on the monorail line we would buy in.

I have been waiting 15 years and I am so hoping the rumor of a DVC at the CR is true.

I really want to call the CR "home".

since don't know what you are talking about.

BCV has tons of parking - I have never yet seem that self parking close to BCV full. Besides the security guard here wants to know your reservation number for dinner before he lets you in.

BWV parking - I think the security guard makes very plain that any non-resort parking is in the other self parking lot - not at BWV. Now they really, really need to start towing these cars. they can park in the self parking across the street they don't need to park in the BWV & BWI parking lot. But this is a BW management problem not one of WDW or DVC resorts in general.

Now I have found that several CM park in the self parking across the street. It is them that is your problem. they have their own parking lot that they should be using. but use the self parking instead.

CR security is better. they have to be.

all wdw and DVC has thiefs - look at the latest one at SSR. Now that is an easy access resort. So is OKW for that matter.

just walk over to them - steal what you want and walk back to DD.

Sorry, you still aren't getting it. Most of what you have stated in this post has zero to do with the problem I am talking about. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but this is about gaming the system and I will be darned if I am going to give a primer on gaming the system and just make the problem worse than it already is.

I know EXACTLY what you are talking about, Doctor P.

I'm not sure the problem can be that bad, considering most of us don't know what you're talking about!;) I'd love to be enlightened, though, as I'm all for a CRV and if there are potential problems I'm not recognizing it would be nice to know what they are.

As I said, the problem IS a serious one (been discussed extensively on these boards). Fortunately, MOST people don't game the system, but the incentives to do so at CR would be multiplied and, IMHO, the problem would either become overwhelming or result in a crack-down on members and their privileges that most people, I suspect, would not want to see.

sorry but I don't get. You say it was NOT parking there. So I don't know what else it could possible be.

If the problem is that extensive and has been discussed extensively on these boards, what's the harm in saying what it is here?:confused3 Or could you point us in the direction of an existing thread? I'm not trying to be argumentative, I'm just trying to understand the issue.

We would buy there if it becomes reality. I think this would be our no kids trip. So I think 75-100 points depending on how charts are set up:goodvibes popcorn::

I'm just curious. DVC units versus Disney Suites -- wouldn't the room layouts be different? I'm thinking about size of rooms, lock-offs, kitchens instead of kitchenettes. Wouldn't these decisions about the interior construction have already been made or can this be decided at a later time? I can't help but feel that the decision has already been made if not made known.:confused3 Marie P.S. I voted on this thread that I would buy. Great location. I'm not sure about themeing because I've never stayed here. I always stop in at CR on my trips to WDW and ususally have at least one meal at the Concourse Steak House each visit. Again, great location. Marie
