With all of the rumbling going on about the CRV, I'd like to see where a majority of DIS DVCers (and potential DIS DVCers) stand on the CRV. Which of the options above best describes your feelings?

P.S. If you choose "Other," please feel free to post your thoughts.

Absolutely no interest in CRV whatsoever. The style just doesn't appeal to me.

Impatiently waiting for GC DVC!:rolleyes1

Personally I have very little interest. If I needed more points and CR was being offered, I'd probably buy a couple small 25-pt contracts mostly for investment purposes. My assumption is that after owning them for a couple of years I'll be able to clean-up on the resale market.

I'd much rather see DVC build a brand new (themed) resort on the monorail--something like the rumors that a new resort may be constructed on the STOLport site.

I'll probably buy at least 200 points there, I just love the monorail and proximity to MK!! But I will definately buy into that if and when it becomes available. Plus it will have the most years of use too I'm thinking, at least a couple more than AKV and a few more than SSR. :thumbsup2 What I really want to see is DVC in Maui!!!

I've told my husband that this is the one resort that we will do an add-on. We will probally buy 100 points and stay there every few years by banking and borrowing. We will use our other points for stays at all the other DVC properties when my husband can drag me away from my standard view at BWV

Just don't see adding on now that we have AKV.

However, we have enjoyed our stays at CR and would certainly like staying at a CRV.

absolutely. Waiting to buy there in lieu of a resale, as I have always done. I love the proximity to MK also-can't beat the walking distance with two little ones! I will do anything not to have to get on and off the bus! :)

Absolutely will add-on at CRV:
  • Location
  • Views

No interest in buying or staying there.

I answered other. Not only will I not buy, I hope and pray that this resort is never built. I think it is a very, very stupid idea. If they built a barrier cutting off walking access to MK, then you might even things out and avoid some of the problems.

I don't think we'll buy there, but will definitely want to try it out.

Much will depend on the price per point, the points schedule and how they break up the room views for booking.

I am in the wait and see category. It has not been announced and there are no details. If CRV was to be built and only had 150 rooms, I would be more inclined to buy. If the resort would have 450 rooms, I may just take my chance at the 7 month window. Its all too iffy right now.

Chose the middle ground -- if conditions are right. There are lots of ifs:

Amenities
Current rumors of other resorts
What do the rooms look like?
Current condition of economy

And the biggie:

Wife's mood

I tend to agree, Doctor P.

I stayed at CR before I became a DVC member. We did not like the hotel at all. The only thing it has going for it is the monorail. Definitely won't be adding on there!! Now if it was the Poly.....

Hoping & eagerly waiting for CRV:thumbsup2to complete our portfolio.

Especially, if it's a smallish resort; would think it'd be as difficult as BCV if not moreso to book @ 7 month window.

I must be having a slow day as I do not understand your comment. Wouldn't the ability to walk ease the congestion on the monorail and boats?

I'm glad it's not just me! I don't understand either. The walk to the MK is the major draw for me. We'll definitely buy at CRV.

The Contemporary is one of our favorite resorts, but we think the 100 Bwv points we have are enough already, so maybe.
