OH MY GOODNESS!!! What a night. :( I didn't get to bed until 1:30...and it wasn't because I was DISing. I was at the ER with DS from 6:50 until 1:10 am. We went to a birthday party yesterday afternoon & the kids were outside playing on the trampoline. He is use to them & knows the rules. Well, he was getting down because I told them we were going home and his foot slipped on the stepstool making him fall headfirst to the ground. He of course put his hands out to protect himself and his right hand took the impact. He came in crying and the palm of his hand was bleeding from what looked like a puncture. The kids showed the dad where he had fallen and he found a pine tree twig that probably caused it...since he also had a couple of splinters in the palm of his hand as well. I rushed home to drop off DD and have the nurse next door look at it to see if a trip to urgent care was justified or overreacting on my part. She said that it looked like it was starting to swell from something being inside the skin so off we went...only to find it closed early for Easter. A quick call to the ped on call had us going to the ER to get it checked out...where we waited a very long time. It was an hour inbetween everything...having his name called for triage & registration, 80 minutes before being called back to sit on a bed in the hallway to wait another 70 minutes to have the doctor check him out, then an xray, then meds, then move to a room. It was after midnight before the doctor came in to treat it. It took longer for the meds to numb his hand...the poor kid had the needle poked in his hand many times to get that done. :( :( :( Good thing though because they had to hold him down just because he saw what the doctor was going to use to cut his hand open to get the stick out. I worked on keeping his eyes covered the rest of the time and he was in good spirits soon after that was done. The doctor was really good with him so that helped a lot. We hadn't had dinner so I told him that he could have anything he wanted when we left. After picking up a milkshake at McD's we finally got home.

DD just went to school...not at all happy about the fact that her brother is still in bed sleeping. I am going to try to go back to sleep too before he wakes up & needs more painkillers. He has a splint since they have to treat it as a sprain due to where it happened. He is concerned about not being able to write or play his gameboy. ;) I'll check in some time today.
Wish you and DS all the best.

Hey 46 isn't old! Be nice to us J.R. or we may have to wack you with our canes or large purses! I maybe 4 years away from membership in AARP, but your as old as you let your self feel. :)

Talk about "senior moments" AARP sent me membership info when I turned 40! :confused3

If I had not dropped out I would have graduated in 1973 and that was after being held back a year in the 5th grade. I will be a strong 53 years old on this cruise and believe you are only as old as you allow yourself to feel. There are times I swear I am only 5 again. I hate those moments. Much prefer when I feel mature but still young enough to enjoy life. You guys are really making me feel old :scared1: . Lois

DISing at work! I did not want to come here today!

You know what one of my favorite things about WDW is??

The freakin' Ducks!!!

I'll post a pic when I get more organized, but in Stormalong Bay there was a Mother Duck with seven ducklings. I LOVE the ducklings most of all! So cutesy! I wish they stayed in the lake instead of the pools though. But there they were, all eight of them, swimming in an Extemely crowded Stormalong Bay, unphased by all the people.

Gotta love the Ducks!

I have the cutest pics of my DS and his friend sitting on ground at MK bus stop with a line of ducks passing by (looking for handouts)....

I'll check in later today before I go to the Orioles first home game this afternoon. :thumbsup2

Lord help me.............

Hi My Name is Mary Rose and I'm a Foodaholic................

This seems to be a growing trend here....

Hi my name is ____ and I'm a DISaholic
Hi my name is ____ and I'm a Foodaholic

We need to identify all the DISorders and then come up with the appropriate name/acronym.....

Aaaaw  I remember sitting and letting my youngest DS (who was 20 months old at the time) watch a Momma duck and her ducklings for over an hour. He was just so excited, and we all needed the break. We even ended up striking up a conversation with a couple of guys that had drive over from Bike Week at Daytona because they were amazed by how enthralled our DS was over the ducks. DH and I still talk about that afternoon

Have fun at the game today Brack. Here's three cheers that the home team wins today!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

"Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out with the crowd.
Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack,
I don't care if I never get back,
Let me root, root, root for the home team,
If they don't win it's a shame.
For it's one, two, three strikes, you're out,
At the old ball game."

Go Orioles!!!

Hello! :surfweb:
Sun is out today, so it's a good start to Monday!:goodvibes

I wonder if SeaWorld brought Shamu out to personally greet her?

Sounds like someone who should have some 1-on-1 time in a tank alone with a killer whale.

I'd personally vote for pirannah. :rolleyes1

The Contemporary is one of our very fav. resorts and when we went to Chef Mickey's we got to see that the whole North Wing has been flattened. I really hope it's to build a DVC there!!
:rolleyes1 I believe it to be more than a rumor, not that I have any inside info or anything. :rolleyes1

:thumbsup2

We do have to be careful though because one person's freak could be one of us DISGeeks! :confused3 Let's make sure we define freak to exclude any of us!
Perhaps "enthusiast" could better describe us here on the DIS? :goodvibes

I have my own personal girl scout to help me, well when she has a mind to! LOL! DD has them all the time too, I think it is selective memory! :lmao: DD keeps telling me that in a couple of years I can be a "Red Hat" lady!:rotfl:

I'd rather be a pirate:
I refer to this as "selective retention and recall".
