LATEST HOT DEALS - AS OF 4/6/07

A special "free dining" vacation package at Walt Disney World (for check-ins 8/26/07-9/22/07) is scheduled to be released for Disney Rewards Visa cardholders on Monday, April 9. The same package is expected to become available to the general public on Thursday, April 12. If the new package is similar to the one offered for the past two years, it will require you to purchase at least 3 consecutive hotel nights at an official Walt Disney World resort, plus at least a one-day theme park ticket, and you will get a FREE dining package (one counter service meal, one table service meal and one snack, per person, per day) for the length of your stay. This has been a very popular promotion in past years, so I expect rooms to sell out fast. Check back here on Monday for full details.

I called my AAA Travel agent and was told that if I got the free dining, that I wouldn't be able to use my AAA discount. You're only allowed one discount code - so it's either a 20% discount on the room and tickets (AAA discount): or free dining.

I was thinking that's how it is with AAA vs. free dining, but I am booked with AAA and my TA said nothing about this. She said when the promotion is available, she will add the free dining to my package and the price will be reduced. That's all she said. I was thinking that doesn't sound right to me, but hey... what do I know? I'm brand new to AAA. Funny though, I have been the one to tell her all about this free dining promotion. She knew nothing about it 2 days ago. I've been putting the fear of God into her about making sure it gets added to my package right away on Thursday.

Wow... what to do? I have the AAA Magical Moments (?) rate at the Poly for a garden view room for 5 nights. There is no way on earth I'd be able to afford this without the free dining (and I still really can't afford it, but it looks good on paper :lmao: ) Now, if this information is correct, I'll have to choose between the free dining ($779.80 savings) or the AAA rate (about $320 per night), or switch resorts :sad1: I'm thinking I'll save more going with the AAA rate vs. rack rate, but it's still not nearly as tasty as having both :)

Woohooo!! Free dining.:hippie: :hippie: :hippie: :dance3: :hippie: :hippie:

Is it best to book online when it becomes available or call the Disney booking number?

I have no inside track, but I did just see on Mouse Savers that the free dinning will be offered this year. It is to be released for Disney Visa customers on April 9 and for the general public on April 12. The dates for check in (I think) are Aug 26-Sep 22. I was planning on going in October, but maybe a quick trip will be easier to convince my dh since it is free food!:rotfl:

Okay really how bad is it during free dinning? Is it worth the extra trip?

Its for all resorts. The value resort is just an example they place in ads, but you can have the free dine at any resort as long as its Disney owned and operated {not the swan or dolphin}.

I can't wait! :cheer2:

It is not a 5 nite min. stay. I just saw the new announcement on mousesavers.com and it says the info is not released but should be the same as before : 3 consecutive nites and a base ticket.

I called Disney Visa this morning and was told that they were offering free Dining from August 26 through September 22nd for Disney Visa cardholders. There is a 5 nite minimum stay. This information, I was told, will be on the website on Monday, April 9th. I called my AAA Travel agent and was told that if I got the free dining, that I wouldn't be able to use my AAA discount. You're only allowed one discount code - so it's either a 20% discount on the room and tickets (AAA discount): or free dining. I miss the dining AGAIN!!!:sad1:

I wonder if what you were told is true or what I was told is true. My AAA TA told me that the rate you get for AAA would apply and I would get free dining. I called my friend and she said she got both discounts last year. I had a discount rate, but no free DDP last year. The discount code was better than the AAA discount, so I booked my own package. We missed free DDP by a few days. Boo hoo!

What code is available. I am helping a friend plan a holiday and we were looking at the first week in December but maybe we should change that. Ever hear of a discount for that time of year or for free dining?

Just wanted to share what I was told today....Although it's mainly already been posted by a number of people I fugured it wouldn't hurt to have it confirmed one more time.

After reading all the exctiment on the boards today and all the good news about the Disney Visa and free dinning monday I was beyond myself...BUT I still wanted to hear it for myself. So I called Disney Visa and asked. The nice customer service guy I talked with started telling me all about the "wonderfull" offer of free intrest for 6 mo. when using your disney visa for select disney vacations.... He went on and on about how this was a great deal. I finally had to stop him and say I was specificaly looking for any offers with the dinning at WDW. At first he said no there wasn't anything listed....as he looked through his stuff...then he said "OH Wait a min....I see right here there is something that they JUST updated and listed"...Then he started reading what it was...short form...it was mainly exactly what's been posted about starting Monday April 9th there will be an e-mail sent to card holders ...he listed the dates (same as what's been posted) then continued reading about the 5 nights, value resorts and the code :goodvibes ..... Once he was done he reading everything...he switched gears and started on about how he couldn't believe I knew this information already before he did...and wondered how in the world I found out about it. He was just totally shocked and beside himself about me knowing all this already.

Anyways after he was done I thought to ask him a few things about the value resorts and the 5 night thing...and he said NO....it said WDW resorts not just value resorts and that he does not think it has to be 5 nights...but wasn't 100% about that.

Anyways...I thought I'd share my info.:goodvibes
