"Free" instant & unlimited FASTPASS - "best kept Disney secret"?

Maggied - If you are interested in the DVC, you may want them to send youthe information. He told me there was a worksheet in it for you to figure out how much it would cost. Then if you went on the Sarasota Springs tour, it would only last however long you need it to.

If the FastPasses are good for any ride with FastPass, then why are some posters saying it was only good for 3 rides?

Also, if it is indeed only good for 3 rides, do you choose what three rides?

Thanks!

I did call them and they are sending me some stuff... my initial calculations are that it is still less expensive over a 50 year time for us to stay at the SOG (based on rising costs, etc.) than DVC BUT if I can convince DH to buy DVC then its a guareenteed trip every year:cool1:

on side note... I was a little confused about the fast pass thing to as some one did post it was only good on the 3 rides... wouldn't that be great if we could use it for a few days at all the rides, multiple times.......:scratchin

From what I understood from the guy on the phone from the DVC is that we get 3 fast passes for each person, so it would be 3 fast pass rides. And you choose which 3 rides rides to use them on out of all of the fast pass rides any of the 4 parks. Is that correct?

The timeshare fast passes were just like a credit card or park ticket that you put into the fast pass machines and it would spit the paper out. After we used the last one, something printed out on the fast pass itself along the lines that it was the last pass available on that card.

If these are "unlimited" fastpasses as others are saying, then why would a paper spit out saying that it was the last pass available on the card?

Also is it good for 3 rides/per park (3 rides x 4 parks = 12 rides/fastpasses total) or do you choose 3 rides out all 4 parks (only 3 fastpasses total)?

Sorry for all the questions and I'm not nitpicking I just want to make sure I have my ducks in a row before I talk to dh about it. He'll think it's just another ploy on my part to get him to become a DVC member. ;)

I am pretty sure that it is for 3 rides total so it would not be unlimited. But I sooooo hope I am wrong.

Maybe someone could call them to cler this up. I just called yesterday and thought I understood, but now I am confused again after rereading the first post. They may think I am a complete idiot if I call back today, lol! The person who answered the phone had no clue about the fast pass deal, but she did put me through to someone who did. I wish we could talk to the cm that made it sound unlimited!

What phone # did you call? Post it and I'll call and see if I can find out more info!

Thanks!

I called and talked to a very nice representative. He explained the fast pass is good for 3 rides total of your choice and are instant. He said it's just Disney's way of giving you back the time you spend on the presentation.

So for me I'm not sure it will be worth it. :confused3 We're going in 9 days, supposedly a really slow time, so hope I won't need them! :cool1:

I'm still not understanding what makes the passes "unlimited". :confused3 My question comes down to this...I will be at WDW in September with 2 other families (so 4 more adults, plus my dh and me). So, could each adult pick a different set of 3 rides for their FastPasses and then each adult swipe their card repeatedly at their 3 FastPass machines to get enough FastPasses for everybody in the party? It sounds too good to be true, but if this isn't the case and there's a "cap" on the amount of FastPasses allowed for each card, then it's not unlimited. KWIM? So, do any past users of this card know the answer?

Thanks!

That is how I understood it too. Thanks for clearing that up! We are going the week before Easter (high crowds) and we are interested in the dvc, so it may be worth it for us!

I am still confused....is that 3 fast passes per person like 3 fast passes for my DH and 3 fast passes for me and 3 for my kids? OR is it 3 total for my whole family to share? Thanks for calling.

The DVC fastpass will allow the holder to get THREE single fast-pass tickets to any three rides. So, if you had a family of four, you could redeem all of them for a total of TWELVE fastpasses.

It's not meant to be a golden fastpass - it's meant to reimburse you for the hour or two of park time lost by attending the sales presentation. Otherwise, people would be hesitant to spend their expensive vacation-time in a sales presentation.

If you visit Disney and stay on property frequently, it's worth it to visit DVC sometime. It's very low-pressure, and you just may discover that it's great for your family. We love being owners.

Thank you! Now it makes sense! :thumbsup2

I'm a couple days late on this conversation- but...

We (dh, ds) are traveling with my ds two buddies- they are all 17. They will not want to hang around for this presentation. Would we be able to get the fastpass for them also? Even if they are not with us during the presentation?

most likely...just tell them how many are in your party. I went to the presentation alone, but got fast passes for my dd and dw:thumbsup2

My suggestion is to do a time share tour that is NOT disney and then they give you 4 non expiry park admission tix. Forget the silly fast passes, go for the gusto. We did this on the last day of our trip at a Marriott and we got 4 tix, that's over $200 and we will use them this year.

We did the preconstruction tour for SSR and received the "unlimited FP's" back in '03. We never used them as it was the last day of our stay, but they did not tell us there was a 3 ride limit. We were told that it would only be good for that day and the next. The cards were plain white if I recall. I've always wanted to bring them to see if they would still work, but I always seem to forget.

Where do you do those? How much time do they take? This sounds like a plan to me. Details, details please.
