Just checked my calendar for May 25, 2008 and I am off that day. That is the day the Magic wil arrive here in LA. In 2005 a bunch of us went down to the port and had a DIS welcome party. When it gets closer we will get more organized.

I just checked my reservation online and the price has increased over $2000 from what I was quoted yesterday. ACK ACK ACK!!! How can that be? I already paid the deposit!

(And I probably missed this somewhere REALLY early in this thread) But we WILL have t-shirts or something to identify each other, right?!?!? I think that I've picked up bits and pieces of us printing the pirate logo onto an iron-on and then putting that on our own t-shirts??? Is that the game plan?

On the westbound pc 2005 we had a PJ's Breakfast.. are we going to do that here..

It was arrange on a day at sea and it was fun seeing the looks on the other guests wondering what we were doing

Seriously, We will have a party of 4, DW(RRBB), DS2, DTBD(Child due in May) registered for a GTY Cat5.

I called Member Services and asked them a few questions...

Q1: Any idea how much the special DVC Rate is for a Cat 5 GTY Room?

A1: We haven't been told and have no idea. DVC has not decided how many points the rooms will be, or how much the Dollar cost will be. In order to get the special DVC rate, at least one person needs to be travelling on points. We anticipate getting the pricing information sometime this month.

Q2. I read online that prices varied depending on when you made your reservations. Are you going to use the Tiered system as well, and if so, what Tier am I on?

A2: We haven't been told and have no idea. DVC has not decided how many points the rooms will be, or how much the Dollar cost will be. In order to get the special DVC rate, at least one person needs to be travelling on points. We anticipate getting the pricing information sometime this month.

Q3: Are there any comperables so I can at least get an order of magnitude for the pricing.

Q4: Sensing a pattern, I tried a different line of questionining... What exactly does a catagory 5 Gauranteed room mean?

A4: It means that you are garanteed a room at least for catagory 5. The advantage for us is that you give up the right to complain about where we put you. The advantage for you is that you might get an upgrade.

Their reply:

"You booked with DVC, they are the only ones who can pull up or modify any information for you..."

OK, so I guess we wait for a month.....

Yes, I'm hoping for a lower airfare...but if I leave the Disney-Priced airfare I can show hubby how much I "saved" by booking on my own, and then I can bask in my own glory....

Ok all,

For those wondering here's the TA mess up update.

TA was able to switch ressie to a canceled one today. thankfully 1500 less than yesterdays ressie after the screwup. It is still 500 more than the qoute for the WB she originally booked but aleast now the price is more reasonable. It's still a GTY 10 instead of an actual room but we can work on that.

not sure if they will change it around from 2005 but then we had - princess at sea tea party in Lumieres, Pirate training, a speaker who used to work for the Panama Canal Authority, special blanket commemorating the cruise, lots of special pins, special tshirts & souvenirs, we all got a book about the panama canal, additional entertainment brought onboard, a big BBQ on deck 9on panama canal day. They were serving us mimosas on deck 10 as we were entering the canal. Plus a bunch of other stuff I cant remember. They did a great job entertaining us.

And who volunteers to train the wenches??
