Wine and Dine...to the Finish Line! Fall 2017 TR NEW 1/25 The Last Day - THE END!

I’m glad your FIL is doing okay!

How fun you got to visit Disneyland ! I miss it and it’s only 7 months since we were there .

You always take the best photos... do you use a cell phone camera?

We were not supposed to be (that) close to Anaheim at all.

Oh, gee... too bad....

we had gone out drinking with my co-workers the night before to celebrate May the Fourth, which should really be a national holiday.

:lmao:
Sure! Why not!

Unfortunately on the way to the airport at 6am we realized we got at text in the middle of the night from Steve's brother Jimmy who said their dad had suffered a mild stroke.

Oh no. Sorry to hear that.

He is ok though, just slow to respond to people.

Glad it wasn't worse. Still scary, though.

drove about 45 minutes to San Jose

So you know the way to San Jose!

Cutie patootie.

Mike used the credit he received from cancelling their parent's flights on Southwest to book us one way tickets from San Jose to Ontario Airport in Riverside County. I used miles from my United account to book us one way flights from Ontario back to Newark the following Saturday.

:faint:

But nice that you got it all sorted out.

WAIT, THAT MEANS I WILL BE VERY CLOSE TO DISNEYLAND.

Go! Go to Disneyland right now!

He said he would SEND ME and PICK ME UP from Disneyland for a day.

Now that's a good husband.

He really is the best DH.

Steve always tells me I hit the Jackpot.

This time I actually agreed with him!! :jumping3:

::yes::

So the aquarium is right on the ocean. How was it?
Nice photo of you, too. :)

I booked us lunch at Bouchon and dinner at Ad Hoc in between wine tastings. They are both owned by Chef Thomas Keller (of French Laundry fame). They are both very different and very good restaurants. I highly recommend.

Nice!
I am familiar (though never been) with French Laundry.

This is the best croque madame you will ever have in your life. It's a ham and cheese sandwich topped with a fried egg. They had a special truffle version that day which a truffle bechamel sauce and truffle fries. I have had this dish almost every time I've dined at Bouchon, lunch or dinner. It is amazing.

Whoa. That sounds (and looks) decadent.

We also visited Heitz Cellars, which was the winery featured in our special wine tasting dinner at Victoria and Alberts during Food & Wine.

Nice!

Love this shot.

It costs 35 bucks but you get to go on a gondola type tram ride up to the top of a mountain

Cool! I`d try that. :)

Quiz: Is Steve meditating, sleeping, or blinking?

I`m gonna go with..... blinking.

Holy tall, Batman!

Fried Chicken was sooo good! Yes it is better than Homecoming’s. It is also juicier than 50's Prime Time. I like them all though. #equalopportunisticfriedchickenlover

That`s very high praise. ::yes::

Our hotel was the Hyatt Andaz in Downtown Napa. I love the rooms here. I always request one with a soaking tub and a fireplace and theirs are nice and spacious. It's a jr suite size and lots of room for the two of us.

That room looks really nice.
Love the tub. I hate shallow tubs.

These lemon ricotta pancakes were the BOMB

Dang they look good!

Steve peeled them for him and he was able to eat many of the things he likes.

Awww... that`s a good man, there.

I have to preface by saying that...many many many friends, especially DISboarder friends, were IN DISNEY WORLD that very week. I had been seeing nothing but posts on Facebook and Instagram about "Flight of Passage is amazing!", "First Dole whip of the trip"; "So happy to be here!" and not to mention countless ride and food pics. To say I was jealous was an understatement.

I feel your pain.

Every time I`m not there.

But no one knew I was here at Disneyland. I can totally get them back on Facebook!
Hehe. #chunkymonkeyplots

::yes::

I was directly across from Space Mountain!!

Nice!

Here to say yay to the mini TR about Star Wars night with Lesley wake. I enjoyed reading her part of the TR too. Sorry to hear about Steve’s dad and that he’s slowly recovering. Prayers that he gets to 100%. The winery and restaurants in Napa looks so much fun. You got great pics as always.

Let's continue the momentum and get this Disneyland TR rolled out before I forget everything! Responses are coming later!
@Lesley Wake did a thorough recap on her TR of this event including photos of the event timetable and menu items so you should go over and read her TR post as well!

Sorry my pictures were not resized so they are a bit large.

Mini TR: California Pt 2 - Disneyland After Dark STAR WARS Edition May 9th 2018

I was so excited to be here. It seemed to surreal. I hadn't had enough time to let anything sink in yet so it was so trippy to be seeing this:

I forgot it was Pixar Fest here! I never really do much research on DLR since I'm not really here much and all my Disney news is about World. I did know that the Incredi-coaster wasn't up yet but I honestly have not been on California Screamin' in about 10 years anyways.

I saw people with event-only tickets lining up so I did just that. They started letting people in right before 6pm. Since I bought my tix through the app, I had to bring that up on my phone when I got to the turnstile and then the CM gave me a paper ticket. It's so different without magic bands! When paying for stuff I had to whip out cash or credit card, and sometimes they carded so I had to get out ID, then sometimes I had to show them my DVC membership card which is on my phone just to get a discount. So I'm juggling all these things plus whatever I'm purchasing and it was cumbersome. I have come to really appreciate magic bands!

When we entered we were given a wristband then we got a lanyard and a special park map. They were really cool!
I think they had one for galactic nights too but we never got one since I rarely pick up any maps in WDW.

I'm made it!! I'm here!! I'm actually here!! :cheer2:

I was kind overwhelmed because there were crowds everywhere waiting for the Pixar Parade and people were trying to walk on Main St, and some people were getting out of the park, and people and strollers were all over the place, plus I had to overcome the sheer fact that I was in Disneyland, so out of all the pictures I managed to take when I first entered - this is the best I could do:

Haha, picture fail. I had been texting Lesley and she was over by Jolly Holiday and so I headed there. Luckily I knew where that was! I had to get accustomed to knowing where everything is in Disneyland and for the most part my knowledge of Disney World helped a bit, like the placement of Adventureland vs Tomorrowland in relation to the castle, but things like Haunted Mansion and BTMRR were in totally different places than WDW and that confused me!

I managed to maneuver the crowd and made my way to Jolly Holiday bakery and Lesley was there sitting at a table holding her very cool, newly purchased Rey lightsaber! Since I was early and the event didn't start until 9pm, we decided to walk around a bit. We watched some of the Pixar parade which I think I had seen before back when it was at DCA. Lesley showed me the future entrance to Galaxy's Edge. So exciting! The progress at DLR looks so much more advanced than at WDW. We also ended up doing some photo ops that were open early in Tomorrowland. As we were walking there I asked Lesley to take a picture of me to officially reveal to all that I was in Disneyland! We decided on an iconic attraction: The Matterhorn! Also because we were right in front of it.

This Hoth one is the same as what Steve and I did at Galactic Nights at DHS in December:

We also went to ride one of my all-time favorites, Hyperspace Mountain!! I couldn't wait to ride this again. Space Mountain with a Star Wars soundtrack? I could ride it all day. Also the DL version is superior to the WDW version because you ride two in a row and it's much more comfortable. Lesley knew about a secret single rider line so we went through the exit and lined up. It took about 30 minutes to reach the front but that was better than the 90 minute wait time. Lesley rode before me and funnily, I ended up riding in a row by myself!

We went to launch bay to meet Rey, especially because Lesley had Rey's lightsaber. The wait times were not bad at all.

My first meeting with Rey!

Me pretending to be scared, but I just looked like I'm yelling at someone across the room. Haha.

We thought it would be a good idea then to find a spot to watch the Pixar Together Forever Fireworks. I had never seen these fireworks before, not even youtube videos. It was really cute and has all the fun Pixar music.

I only captured some video of the fireworks:

We decided to grab a bite to eat right after and we went to the Pizza Port in Tomorrowland to try the Dagobah Ramen. We had to wait a bit since it wasn't quite 9pm yet but we managed to get the first 2 bowls they put out!

The ramen was better than I thought it would be, although it could have used more broth. The pork belly was tender and the broth was pretty flavorful. I didn't think it was spicy but Lesley did!

I also saw these cute little Alien treats. I didn't get any as I probably wouldn't eat them but I had to get a picture!

The event was in full swing so we went to get more pictures. Some lines were really long like for the droids and Ewoks but you can check out Lesley's TR for some stalker pictures of them, LOL. We did get these though, with Sabine, and Ezra. I don't watch any of the Star Wars cartoons on TV so Lesley gave me a quick overview of their characters.

My favorite was the Sarlacc pit. Although you can't really see the Sarlacc that much and it would have been cooler if the photographer got a wider angle for more depth perception.

I was definitely feeling the time zone difference still as I never fully adjusted to California time and had been waking up at 5am every day. So by 11pm, I was definitely feeling it! But I wanted to carry on, there were more things to see and do!

We ate more things:

I had the Chicharron Nachos, which are like nachos but with pork rinds as the tortilla chips. Hey, it is low-carb! It was pretty tasty but could have been served hotter and more crisp. It was also a large portion and I couldn't finish it so I took it back with me.

Lesley tried the Waffle Fried Chicken and Funnel Cake which we were wondering about. It turns out it was chicken in waffle batter, fried, served with funnel cake and topped with honey sauce. The chicken was waaay sweeter then we had imagined, although the funnel cake was pretty good.

Continued in next Post

Your time in San Jose and Napa sounds fun. I really want to try Din Tai Fun. If we don't get to the Costa Mesa version, maybe we'll get to the one that you went to in San Jose since my parents live really close to it! I've been dying to go there since I read your "Bring Back Hyperspace Mtn" TR!

Your time at DL sounds like so much fun so far! I would love to be able to do one of these events. Maybe now that some of our stuff is more done, I'll have the chance to do it in the future!

I forgot it was Pixar Fest here! I never really do much research on DLR since I'm not really here much and all my Disney news is about World.

::yes:: I hear ya.

It's so different without magic bands!

I know, right????

When paying for stuff I had to whip out cash or credit card, and sometimes they carded so I had to get out ID, then sometimes I had to show them my DVC membership card which is on my phone just to get a discount. So I'm juggling all these things plus whatever I'm purchasing and it was cumbersome. I have come to really appreciate magic bands!

I love MBs. I don't have to carry anything if I don't want to.

there were crowds everywhere waiting for the Pixar Parade and people were trying to walk on Main St, and some people were getting out of the park, and people and strollers were all over the place,

This I'm familiar with when it comes to Disneyland.

things like Haunted Mansion and BTMRR were in totally different places than WDW and that confused me!

Ohhhh!! So that's what it was! I just couldn't seem to get my bearings there. That must have been it.

We decided on an iconic attraction: The Matterhorn! Also because we were right in front of it.

 Convenience trumps all.

Guess where I am?!?

Switzerland?

Those are great shots.

Also the DL version is superior to the WDW version because you ride two in a row and it's much more comfortable.

Glad that's settled!

Lesley knew about a secret single rider line

Nice!

When it was our turn, Vader came up to Lesley and said her lightsaber looked promising. Then she turned it on and he shook his head in disappointment because it wasn't red! :rotfl:#lightside

:lmao:

Me pretending to be scared, but I just looked like I'm yelling at someone across the room. Haha.

"Hey! zoom out for the Sarlacc pit photo!"

The ramen was better than I thought it would be, although it could have used more broth.

Looked a little... low tide.

We did get these though, with Sabine, and Ezra. I don't watch any of the Star Wars cartoons on TV so Lesley gave me a quick overview of their characters.

Nope. Not a clue.

I see what you mean about zooming out. You should have yelled louder. Still a pretty cool shot, though. :)

I had the Chicharron Nachos, which are like nachos but with pork rinds as the tortilla chips.

:faint:

It turns out it was chicken in waffle batter, fried, served with funnel cake and topped with honey sauce.

:faint:

I didn't think it was spicy but Lesley did!
Maybe not totally spicy, but a teeny kick, and I'm such a wimp!

I had the Chicharron Nachos, which are like nachos but with pork rinds as the tortilla chips. Hey, it is low-carb! It was pretty tasty but could have been served hotter and more crisp. It was also a large portion and I couldn't finish it so I took it back with me.
I forgot about the take out container! Did you end up eating it later?

Butter, garlic, escargot and preferably mushroom caps. That's it.

that sounds more like it!

I don't know! No plans to head that way.... um....
I know you live in New Jersey (at least that's what your profile says)... that's a bit out of my way, but....

There is always Disney World/Land!
BTW when were you visiting Tracy? If it's a weekend I may be able to swing upstate.

Thank goodness the stroke was a mild one and in some ways fortuitous that you were already scheduled to be on the west coast. I hope that he continues to improve and I'm sure it was much appreciated to have Steve there to help in the first few days home. Sounds like a flurry of activity getting all the arrangements settled. Steve for sure wins all the awards for sending you to Disneyland for the day and oh my goodness how perfect that there was a Star Wars party! But so much fun before you even got there! All your meals look positively delicious. I'm so bitter we don't have In 'n Out here on the east coast. I do love Shake Shack but I want more! Napa is definitely on my bucket list -- it looks beautiful. I love how compact Disneyland is. Your hotel looks like the perfect place to rest your head for a quick stay. Is your necklace the Millennium Falcon?? I want to go on a shopping (and dining) spree with you one day!! :flower3:

Thank you! Yeah it was a good thing we were there so we could visit him without any real issues. Still can't believe everything all worked out, but it did and I am very grateful and we didn't really lose anything in the process.
I was so excited that there was another Star Wars party! What are the odds that I would be there for that? I had heard about the May the 4th one that sold out and I didnt' know they added another night.
In n Out is my favorite burger place in the world. I like Shake Shack too but it's like double the price of In n Out and I'd rather have in n out!
Napa and Sonoma are gorgeous. I wish I could have spent more time there. The food is amazing.
Yup my necklace is the Millenium Falcon. I had it in my purse. I think I wore it on May the 4th and just left it in my bag so I was surprised to find it, turns out I was prepared for the Star Wars party without even knowing it!!
Shopping and dining spree is always welcome in my world :)

You are off to a GREAT start!
So sorry to hear about Steve's dad though.

Thank you! It was so much fun! It still feels surreal.
Thank you, he's doing better and getting all the rest he needs.

Food & Wine is my absolute favorite time to visit Disney. I'm currently working very hard trying to find someone to go with me this fall. A short solo trip may be in my future and I'm okay with that, too.

I think a solo trip would be perfect! You do what you have to do just to get your Disney fix, I sure did at Disneyland, buahaha.

Sounds like you had a great time in San Jose and Napa Valley. Maddie has gotten so big! I remember reading one of your trip reports when she was just a little bitty gal.

Yes! She's been in some of my TRs. We visited her when she was only 3 months old (I think it was from my 2011 TR) and then she was on our first DCL cruise in 2015. She is a sweetie and we miss her all the time!

How lucky you were able to manage a visit to DL! I seriously want that Sulley popcorn bucket!!!

That popcorn bucket was sold out that morning but at around 4pm I managed to find a cart that just got them and everyone was on line buying one! I think there was just 10 left when I got mine. It seems to be replenished every so often.

My daughter and her family stayed at that Fairfield Inn last October and were very pleased.

Looking forward to reading more about both of these trips!

I liked the hotel. I was very surprised at the Disney decor inside. Usually the non-Disney hotels don't have much Disney-inspired decor so it was cute! It definitely reminded me a bit of the value/mod resorts at WDW. They have outside corridors and the sink area had the clothes rack.

Truly! While the circumstances for your change in plans weren't amazing, it's so fun that you got to visit DL :D I'm excited to hear about the rest!

It indeed was something good to come out of something unfortunate. :) Good news is that he's doing well, and I got the trip of a lifetime!

SO sneaky!!!! When I saw your first post I was thinking, "wait!! she never mentioned this?!!" :)

Haha I know! It was a good surprise, for myself mostly!! :)

Looks like Napa was awesome! I need to get up there!

It's really gorgeous. Great food, great wine, fabulous views.

It was so surprising, in a very very good way, to get your message you were going to be in town! And a great coincidence that Star Wars night was the same time!

I felt like it was just meant to be!! I'm so glad I texted you when I found out I was going to be there so that I could get tickets to Star Wars night! And thanks for being my partner in crime for the evening. It's cool to be around a Disneyland expert in Disneyland!

Also it was fun to keep your secret for a couple days!

Haha, it was great fun! I think I was also so busy with other activities that I didn't even have much time to post about any Disneyland plans so I thought I'd just save it for when I'm actually there.

I'm glad to hear Steve's dad is doing better, hopefully things continue to improve. Galactic nights looks like it should be a lot of fun!

Thank you! It seems like he's getting better daily.
Spoiler: It was a lot of fun!!

I'm sorry to hear about your FIL, but it sounds like the change in plans worked in your favor ;)

Thank you! I definitely did not disagree with these change of plans. In fact, I might have been the one who suggested it. :)

Sounds like a nice time with family in San Jose and then a nice day/night in Napa!

It was! Always too short a visit though!

Glad your FiL is doing ok. Strokes can be scary, but sounds like he weathered it pretty well, all things considered. How sweet of Steve to suggest you go to DL!

Thank you! Yeah, it's not his first stroke. He's been pretty tough so far...hope he will continue to be tough!
I think it might have been me who suggested it...either way he did not discourage it and even encouraged me to go!

#missionaccomplished :flower1:

YES!!! :)

So sorry to hear about Steve's day. I hope he's getting a little stronger each day.

Thank you! He is, we hope!!

Wow you really are close to Disney. How nice would it be to be able to just walk to Disney World? I hope the Star Wars party was great. Looking forward to hearing all about it.

I was probably the same distance that Bay Lake is to MK. Maybe Beach Club to Epcot...either way, it was very close. I wasn't the closest hotel though, there were ones which are directly across the street. They looked interesting.

Sorry to hear about your FIL. I hope his condition improves quickly. The hotel at DLR looks really cool. I like the Disneyland wallpaper.

Thanks! I think he's continuing to improve every day.
The DLR wallpaper surprised me since this wasn't an official Disney resort. I'm not even sure it was a Good neighbor resort, but it reminded me of some of the vallue/mod resorts at WDW.

Glad Steve's dad is doing well.

thank you!

Tell me about it. Our APs are up soon and we're staying at AKL before our cruise (short 2 day stay). We keep looking up how much a 1 day would cost us if we want to do the parks. But I can't pull the trigger on a 1 day price. Ugh. We know we'll probably go back in 2019 anyway. Plus we have one more trip with our APs before.

Ugh I know, I paid only 400 each for our next set of AP at WDW (it was a special DVC price last year). I paid close to half of that for ONE DAY at Disneyland.
But you can't put a price on happiness...that's what I keep telling myself. :lmao:

I’m glad your FIL is doing okay!

thank you!

How fun you got to visit Disneyland ! I miss it and it’s only 7 months since we were there .

I know...something good to come out of the whole situation! At least for me :thumbsup2

You always take the best photos... do you use a cell phone camera?

Yup I use mostly an iphone 10 now. For the Food and Wine trip I used an iphone 6 and a point and shoot (canon G7x) but nowadays I don't even bring out the canon.

Glad it wasn't worse. Still scary, though.

Yeah he was lucky. Hope he'll be ok for a while.

So you know the way to San Jose!

I'm going to find some peace of mind...

Cutie patootie.

she is!

Go! Go to Disneyland right now!

Yes, yes I will!
(your Jedi mind trick worked)

Now that's a good husband.

I think I'll keep him.

So the aquarium is right on the ocean. How was it?
Nice photo of you, too. :)

It's on Monterey Bay. It's a great aquarium, really well done. There are sea lions in the Bay too.

Nice!
I am familiar (though never been) with French Laundry.

I've never been either but I've been to Per Se which is the "New York" version. Still want to go to French Laundry though one day!

Whoa. That sounds (and looks) decadent.

It's soooo delicious! And yes, decadent. But aren't all vacations?

Love this shot.

it's so pretty there, it's hard to take a bad shot!

I`m gonna go with..... blinking.

I think you're right!!

Holy tall, Batman!

Yeah super tall. I guess that's why he plays basketball.

That room looks really nice.
Love the tub. I hate shallow tubs.

Me too.

Awww... that`s a good man, there.

Yeah, keeper for sure.

I feel your pain.

Every time I`m not there.

I'm in pain right now!!

Thanks!! It was a fun night!! Couldn't believe I was there!
Thanks for the well wishes, he is recovering and doing much better.
Napa is great! I wish I get to go more often.

Next time I'm in So Cal we can go to Din Tai Fung together! Just be prepared for a wait...there's always a wait, but it's so yummy!
The San Jose one was even more crowded because it's the only one in the Bay area! I would just put your name down when you're not hungry at all and then by the time they call your name you may be hungry. Although if you go on a weekday lunch it shouldn't be too bad of a wait (I hope).

Your time at DL sounds like so much fun so far! I would love to be able to do one of these events. Maybe now that some of our stuff is more done, I'll have the chance to do it in the future!

Hopefully you will! It was a fun event, lots of cool photo ops!

The food looks really good! And the sarlac photo op is pretty awesome, have not seen that one before.

Yeah that one was new! The food was very interesting and they had different things than at Galactic nights.

Such a great surprise!!!! I think the anticipation of heading to Disneyland would kill me even more than waiting to go to WDW. It's probably best you didn't have too much time to agonize about going and were able to just throw yourself right into the magic!

I know, that was exactly it...I didn't have time to really get into the mode of "OMG I'm going to Disneyland!!" and it just kinda hit me while I was there. :cutie:

I love MBs. I don't have to carry anything if I don't want to.

Me too! They are the BEST invention!

Along with air-conditioning.

Ohhhh!! So that's what it was! I just couldn't seem to get my bearings there. That must have been it.

Yes! So that area where you enter Frontierland which is sorta where Liberty Square is in WDW, BTMRR is located where I think Haunted Mansion should be!

 Convenience trumps all.

It does. The less walking the better.

Switzerland?

Ding ding ding!! :thumbsup2

Those are great shots.

They are so funny!

"Hey! zoom out for the Sarlacc pit photo!"

Yeah, doesn't anyone listen to me?!?

Looked a little... low tide.

Yes it was definitely missing about 2 cups of broth.

Haha I take it you're not a pork rind nacho or waffle fried chicken and funnel cake with honey fan?

Looks like so much fun!

thank you! It certainly was!

Looks like so much fun! I'm glad you were able to meet up with Lesley and spend the evening with her!

Me too! It was a great coincidence that could only happen because of the DISboards. :disrocks:

Maybe not totally spicy, but a teeny kick, and I'm such a wimp!

You must have really spice-sensitive taste buds! Or maybe I am immune to spice! :rotfl:

I forgot about the take out container! Did you end up eating it later?

Yup I did! I ate most of what was still crunchy - some of it surprisingly was. It was actually pretty good at 1:30am. :thumbsup2

There is always Disney World/Land!
BTW when were you visiting Tracy? If it's a weekend I may be able to swing upstate.

It will be somewhere around Sep 25. (I know I'm in Toronto on that date.... so probably the next day?)

Yeah he was lucky. Hope he'll be ok for a while.

I'm going to find some peace of mind...

::yes::

Yes, yes I will!
(your Jedi mind trick worked)

Man! I didn't even know I could do that!

It's soooo delicious! And yes, decadent. But aren't all vacations?

::yes::

Yeah super tall. I guess that's why he plays basketball.

Possibly an asset?

Me too! They are the BEST invention!

Along with air-conditioning.

Yes. Mustn't forget that. :)

Yes! So that area where you enter Frontierland which is sorta where Liberty Square is in WDW, BTMRR is located where I think Haunted Mansion should be!

::yes::

Yeah, doesn't anyone listen to me?!?

What is wrong with people?

Haha I take it you're not a pork rind nacho or waffle fried chicken and funnel cake with honey fan?

Think... opposite. Sounds over the top. I like that.

I’m so glad Steve’s Dad is doing better and yes you did it the jackpot with Steve but so did he ;)
Napa looks wonderful and so do your meals
I can’t believe Disneyland had a SW night when you were there and that you had SW clothes packed :rotfl:
You give new meaning to being prepared
What a view from your hotel you really were close

I hope we can go to DL when DD’s finished college

Glad to hear Steve's dad is doing better :)

Our hotel was the Hyatt Andaz in Downtown Napa. I love the rooms here.
That IS a nice room!!

But no one knew I was here at Disneyland. I can totally get them back on Facebook!
Hehe. #chunkymonkeyplots
:P You HAD to get us back, didn't you?? Well............you got us good!

Here's me and Lesley!
Hi ladies

Although not a SW fan, so far it looks like you guys are having a blast!

I just finished your O'hana Means Chunky trip report and really enjoyed it! So happy to see you have another report in progress. I love the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The jellyfish are my favorite. How fun you got to go to DLR!! I've only been once and am dying to go back soon! Glad your FIL is ok--must have been a scary time for you, Steve and his family. I went and bought a couple more sparkle skirts for my upcoming June trip, they really are the best thing to wear in the parks :goodvibes

I actually had a response all quoted and replied to and ready to go on my nightshift the other night, and then about 3 replies to go, my pt woke up and I had to go get... you know.. to work. LOL!

Alas, the absence ate all of that, so suffice to say, I DID read it. All.

Your Napa portion looked awesome! So many good eats and the wine!! THE WINE!! Loved the tram trip to the tasting room. How cool is that!

I know we've already PMd a bunch about Hemet and the outlandish connection we have, but I'll say it here too. WHat are the odds we have that connection from a sleepy little town in SoCal?!

I'm so happy you got to sneak in a quick visit to DLR. It is close and you totally should have!

The Star Wars event looks like amazing good fun and you crammed a ton of stuff in. Loads of food, Girl!!! And, as usual, nice PP shots of you both.

It will be somewhere around Sep 25. (I know I'm in Toronto on that date.... so probably the next day?)

Hmm, doesn't look like I can make that, but who knows...:(

Man! I didn't even know I could do that!

I should have said this:

Possibly an asset?

Perhaps? Not sure.

What is wrong with people?

Haha got it.

I’m so glad Steve’s Dad is doing better and yes you did it the jackpot with Steve but so did he ;)

Thank you!
I tell Steve that all the time. Buahaha.

Napa looks wonderful and so do your meals

It was short but sweet!

I can’t believe Disneyland had a SW night when you were there and that you had SW clothes packed :rotfl:
You give new meaning to being prepared

It was just meant to be! I always travel with at least one or two Disney or Star Wars clothing.

What a view from your hotel you really were close

It was crazy how close I was! There should be an entrance across the street I would have saved 7.5 minutes of walking.

Such a fun event your SW pics are great
Love that they have Rey and Vader

It was great fun! So happy they had Rey and Vader! I love the Launch Bay at DLR over WDW!

I hope we can go to DL when DD’s finished college
I want to ride SM with a SW theme :D

Yes! It is so much fun! I never ride SM at WDW but at DL it's my favorite even without SW overlay!

The Star Wars pics are so cute! I can't wait to hear more...

Thank you!! I had a great time!

Glad to hear Steve's dad is doing better :)

Thank you! :)

That IS a nice room!!

I love me a large soaking tub!!

:P You HAD to get us back, didn't you?? Well............you got us good!

I was soooo sad about not going to WDW during that time (and it's my favorite time to go no less) - so when this opportunity came around, I didn't hesitate (maybe just a little) to get my ticket!

Hi ladies

Although not a SW fan, so far it looks like you guys are having a blast!

Hi Ariane!! We had a great time! So glad we were able to do this together!! Lesley is the DLR expert!

I just finished your O'hana Means Chunky trip report and really enjoyed it! So happy to see you have another report in progress.

Thank you so much for reading my Trip Reports!! And thanks for the kind comments. Hoping to get this one done before our trip in Sept!

I love the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The jellyfish are my favorite.

I love that Aquarium too! It's so well done and just outside the bay scenery is breathtaking. I like the Open Ocean exhibit. So minimalist and really feel like one with the ocean!

How fun you got to go to DLR!! I've only been once and am dying to go back soon!

It was great! I was so lucky! I can't believe I only went for a day. It was WAAAY to short, but either way I'm glad I had it!

Glad your FIL is ok--must have been a scary time for you, Steve and his family.

Thank you, yeah it's getting to that age where there will constantly have problems, including my dad (who is much much better now). but hopefully they can hang in there and their health improves.

I went and bought a couple more sparkle skirts for my upcoming June trip, they really are the best thing to wear in the parks :goodvibes

I love them so much!! They are the perfect park skirt!!!
