MGM Grand is kind of a nice medium in terms of price and quality. There are also options like the condos near the major casinos (like MGM Signature). Many are rented out on behalf of the owners, but where you only need to deal with a management company.
You might be able to get the Venetian or Palazzo for under $300 a night. Or Wynn's/Encore. You have a lot of choices, on weekdays maybe Aria or the Cosmopolitan. There are also a host of hotels that aren't attached to casinos like the Mandarin Oriental. However, that might be ore than $300 a night.
Keep checking, sometimes you might be able to get some great deals if you check. Look at some hotels and sign up and see if they send you some specials as well.
We are thinking of going during Thanksgiving Week. The prices don't look that bad right now.
Do you guys know if its possible to rent a car in vegas just for like a day or two so we can drive around the area if we need to? Because we are thinking of flying into Vegas instead of driving there if thats possible.
I stayed at Vdara a couple of years ago, spa hotel, no casinos, very nice. Close to strip and quiet. Got a great deal through Southwest for hotel and flight, hotel under 300. Good luck and enjoy your trip!!
Also... do you plan to use a cab from the airport. Do you like being longhauled? It's one reason, I look for hotels close to the airport as a budget traveller.
It just depends on how much you want to see. I always like to go through the hotels and we are there about 4 days when we go. And I still never get to go all the places I want to see.
We have done 5 or 6 days. There are bus trips to the Hoover dam and other locations if you want to explore if you don't want to drive. We like the mid-strip area (Mirage, Paris, Bally's etc) Easy to checkout multiple resorts and dining options.
