Are there any nice, clean beaches within walking distance of where the Magic docks at Key West, Grand Cayman and Cozumel?

No easy walking distance beach in Key West
See: http://keywest.com/beaches.htm

In Grand Cayman, Smith's cove is about 1 mile south of the tender pier, but there are snorkeling areas just north and south of the tenders if you're into that.

Note 7-mile beach is short cab ride from the tender pier, about $2.50 US pp (try the Westin)

In Cozumel, the swimming beaches on are on West side.

Thanks GenieDana!

Great info. Can't wait to go. What did you do for excursions on you cruise?

Happy Cruising!

GeniaDana:

You mentioned to try the Westin at Cayman Islands. We stayed there on our honeymoon. Are DCL vacationers allowed to use the hotel facilities at the Westin? If so, that would be great since they have the best beach we have ever been to.

Thanks for the information!!!

Din't go there personally, but read some threads on the Cruise Critics board while researching GC :

Do a search for "Westin"

Here is some of what I read:

We stayed a week on Grand Cayman last October. The Westin is gorgeous. It has a beautiful pool area that is right on the beach. Also had an outdoor/swim-up bar and a food "shanty" on the edge of the beach. If you cross the street (away from the ocean) there is a liquor store (we bought a cheap cooler - or bring your own collapsible one- and carried out drinks and ice to the beach. The beach is public - the Westin's pool is not. There is also a good "1960's theme" diner acroos the street that had very reasonable (for Grand Cayman) burgers, fries, etc. We carried those over to the beach too....yeah we kinda travel like pack mules...

Westin

We usually just walk through, grab a bite at the restaurant, and head for the beach chairs. Never had a problem

You may want to pose the question here, as I'm sure someone will reply with actual experience with this Hotel. Another I read about was the Holiday Inn.

Good luck!

Thanks for the information--I will look further into it. We did eat at the diner a couple of times (they serve breakfast, lunch & dinner) and the food was very good and very, very reasonable as it was very, very expensive to eat on the island. We also were in the liquor store for diet coke and munchies!!!

Thanks again for the information.
