I’m trying to decide which motel to book. If I got one on the north west of DL like on Ball Rd, can you easily walk though downtown Disney to enter on that side? And if we used Uber would they drop us there if asked? Anyone btdt?
I’ve typically stayed on the katella or harbor side.

Thanks!
Becky

Yes. You can enter DTD at the DL Hotel or near ESPN Zone which is where there is also a drop off/pickup location if you Uber in.

Stayed once on Ball Rd. and never again! It is very isolated and not that easy, especially now with construction, etc. to get to DTD. Many times there was hardly anyone walking from the parking garage to the Ball Rd. area. Not worth it! Stick to Harbor....so much easier and more stores, restaurants, etc.

Depending on which hotel you choose, it doesn't have to be difficult to walk to M&F to take the tram to DTD or to walk to DTD and then to the parks. For example, from the Super 8 on Disneyland Dr., just north of Ball Rd., you would walk straight down Disneyland Dr. to Magic Way (on the east side of the street since there is no sidewalk south of Ball on the west side), then cross at the light, enter the path that is right there on the corner and walk directly to bag check and the trams in the M&F structure. Not hard at all. To walk to DTD instead of taking the tram, just continue walking west on Magic Way to the next signal, then turn left and continue walking toward the ESPN Zone and Rainforest Cafe buildings. Follow the signs to the bag check tents, go through security, enter DTD and walk east toward the parks. These directions would also work for any hotel that is near the Disneyland Dr. and Ball Rd. intersection. It is a safe area, and we've done that walk many times, even after park closing, and never felt unsafe. You just don't want to be too far west of that intersection because that will lengthen your walking time as you can no longer cut through the M&F structure or CM lot.

Hi! I'm just wondering where the Mickey and friends tram drops you off? Is crossing Ball difficult? There are several very inexpensive hotels right there. We've always stayed right across on Harbor which is so easy usually.

the tram stops at two places. Mickey and Friends parking structure and Downtown Disney.

crossing Ball is not a problem at the lights.
