Transportation to Port Canaveral

We will be in DisneyWorld from January 20th-28th. We need transportation to our Carnival cruise embarking at Port Canaveral on the 28th. We disembark on February 2nd, and need transportation back to MCO (and a hotel for one night) before leaving on the 3rd.

Currently, we are renting a car from the 28th-3rd from MCO, and plan on paying parking at the port, but is there a more economical way of doing this? I would hate to rent a car only to have it sit the entire time.

You could rent 2 - one-way rentals. There is a shuttle from the rental agency to the Port
Maybe from Disneys Car Care Center to Port Canaveral (Try Alamo)
Then a one-way from Alamo near Port Canaveral back to MCO or a nearby hotel.
This will probably be cheaper than renting for the whole time and paying parking.

Uber/Lyft may be an option, but it's a fairly long haul so finding a driver willing to make the run could be an issue (especially on the return trip)

There are a few companies that will shuttle to the Port but most seem to run from MCO, you could try calling a couple of them to see if they will pickup on WDW property (and the cost). Here's a few from a quick google search.

You can price two one-way rentals as one option. Most of the major car rental operations have facilities near the Port and offer shuttles to and from the various cruise line locations. This avoids the parking fee for the rental car.

Also, check with Carnival about a bus from the port to MCO after your cruise. This may be more or less economical than a one-way rental, depending on the rate you can find for the car. I usually target $70 including taxes for a one-way rental between WDW and Port Canaveral because we usually cruise with Disney and they charge that amount to transport two of us to the port. Our typical pattern is to use the cruise line bus between port and the airport because it's more convenient than picking up a rental car. (Disney charges $35 per person for either resort to/from port and the same between port and MCO).

We used FLTours for our trip WDW to Port Canaveral and back. We were very happy with them and were especially happy not to have to drive or rent a car.

For the life of me, I can't remember how much we paid, but it was reasonable and we were very happy with them.

We've used Orlando Sun Transportation to get to the port many times. They're reliable and reasonably priced.

we considered a one-way rental car but did not want to waste time in picking-up/dropping vehicle. Limo service seemed better alternative and more economical considering the cost of time, tolls and gas. We paid one way to airport $135 plus gratuity for 6 of us for an Escalade with https://orlandoairportlimotransportation.com
