The year of living Disney TR - Winter edition! Update! 11/27/17 mini November trip report

img_0182-jpg.255444
Mmm those look good! Good for you all rolling with it and getting so much done your first day! And oof a 1:30 am phone call?? I would not be a happy camper!

Wow you all had quite the first day. Glad to see you landed, but of course the last luggage of the day and magic bands not working and forgetting your license and the bed not opening, of course murphys law had to continue to prevail. Hope you got it all out of your system today!

I totally love AKL, but that place is B.I.G. We lucked out and our last room was close to the lobby, but the first time we stayed there we had a 10K walk similar to yours :-)

How have I never heard of those flame tree fries. Totally eating these and onion rings only for my next meal there!

And congrats on the 2 park challenge. For all you endured, you did awesome!

Mmm those look good!

They are so yummy! Plus they are totally a shareable size, and are a snack credit if you do the dining plan :thumbsup2 win win!

Good for you all rolling with it and getting so much done your first day!

Ya know, I'd always rather be having a challenging day at Disney than a normal day at home. It's all good!

Hope you got it all out of your system today!

We did, thank goodness! That was enough for one trip

I totally love AKL, but that place is B.I.G. We lucked out and our last room was close to the lobby, but the first time we stayed there we had a 10K walk similar to yours

It really is a super cool resort. I think I'd like to stay there again if we had more resort time planned.

How have I never heard of those flame tree fries.

This shocks the bageezus out of me. I thought you knew everything about Disney food.

And congrats on the 2 park challenge. For all you endured, you did awesome!

:cheer2: Haha! Thanks. It's all kinda funny now that I look back on it. Maybe it was the Universe telling me to calm the frick down and roll with it a little better.

Now the hubs and I are talking about a trip with NO PLANS AT ALL, can you believe it???:scared1:

We left off making donuts in the plane at about 28,000ft. We did this for about 20 minutes and Mr. Pilot Man comes back and says "Good news!" The airport is back open, we will get you guys on the ground 30 minutes late. Ok dude you must have forgotten we are already 4 hours late from the get go. Oh well, we are finally landing!

I'm not sure what possessed us to check our bags without the magic yellow tags that would have them delivered to our hotel but we deplaned and made our way to bagge claim. Where we waited. And waited. And waited some more. Seems like everyone else has retrieved their bags and it was just us and two or three other folks waiting. Nothing like having your bags be the very last to arrive. :thumbsup2 Oh well, at least we had them in our hot little hands.

Wow what a flight, but glad you got there safely although very much later than expected!

We made our way back over to side B to catch the ME and soon were on our way!
:woohoo:. While on the bus I had gotten the wonderful " your room is ready" email so we were able to bypass the desk, but first let's drop some folks off at AoA and Pop. Ok last off the bus. I see a trend forming here.
img_2325-jpg.255318

I'm always like, are we there yet while on ME to the resorts?!?

Cute matching Tiaras! Did you wear them the whole time?

image-jpeg.255321

The center of Kidani village is where the lobby is, if you walk left and keep going until next Tuesday that is where our room was. Seriously though, if you look left and go to where the bend is, about six "sections" down that's where we were. Poor people who where all the way at the end most have been dying. In all honesty I think it was a 8 minute walk, but it seemed like an endless hallway. They should have golf cart service or at least those moving sidewalks like you see at the airport to take people to their rooms here.

Wow that is a long walk but I can relate, one year when we got upgraded to Savannah view, and we though, oh cool, but it was the 2nd to last room down a hall at Jambo House. It was such a nice view but that walk back every day/night was tough.

ToT was a walk on, which was awesome, so we rode once and decided it was now a 2 park challenge!! And left HS as Star Wars fireworks boomed overhead. We got right in the bus to Animal Kingdom ( hey maybe our luck is changing!) and went right towards Everest, rode twice and then grabbed a snack at Flame Tree BBQ.

img_0182-jpg.255444

OK must try these next time!!

Now in some DVC studios all you have is a queen bed and a pull out sofa bed. I go to make up the sofa bed for Kiya and it pulls out about half way and gets stuck. Nnnooooooooo!!!! 1:00am and Bob has to walk the 17.4 miles back to the front desk, after he had just been there trying to figure out why his MB wasn't working at Disney Springs and tell them our sofa bed is jacked up and we have a tired 9 year old super girl that is ready to expire.

1:30 am and there's a knock on our door and an angel from Heaven in the form of a handyman fixes the sofa bed and then the phone rings.....

Who the %#*^ is calling us at this ungodly hour???????

Coming up... mimosas make everything better

Oh no, that is crazy...when it rains it pours huh? Glad the day is over, but at least you got to ride a few things. Hope the next few days make up for it!

Now the hubs and I are talking about a trip with NO PLANS AT ALL, can you believe it???:scared1:
Not only can I believe it, I love it :-) If it wasn't for FP's I'm not sure we'd ever have any plans. I miss the old days of just being able to get out of bed. getting on the first bus that comes and then just going where the universe takes you

It did and then some, details to come

Standing by!

Wait... just read!

We left off making donuts in the plane at about 28,000ft.

mmm... donuts...

We did this for about 20 minutes and Mr. Pilot Man comes back and says "Good news!" The airport is back open, we will get you guys on the ground 30 minutes late.

Not too bad... and much better than the alternative!

Ok dude you must have forgotten we are already 4 hours late from the get go.

:rolleyes1

Nothing like having your bags be the very last to arrive.

I hate that! I assume that they're lost if they're not in the first dozen or so.

While on the bus I had gotten the wonderful " your room is ready" email

Yessssss...

Awww!! Look at you guys in your tiaras!

We walk the 10.8 miles from the lobby to our room

Ugh....

The center of Kidani village is where the lobby is, if you walk left and keep going until next Tuesday that is where our room was.

You have to time travel to get to your room! So cool!!

In all honesty I think it was a 8 minute walk, but it seemed like an endless hallway.

It gets longer the more tired you are.

They should have golf cart service or at least those moving sidewalks like you see at the airport to take people to their rooms here.

::yes::

The room was beautiful though. Sorry but I took zero photos while it was still nice and clean and before hurricane Kiya hit it.

TR fail!

waved quickly at a giraffe outside ( cool!!)

Yes! Cool!

. We got in line at Guest Relations which was fairly short and then the fog of traveling lifted from my brain and I remembered I forgot to move my drivers license from my other backpack to his one. POOH! I can't get my AP without a photo ID and we only had a two day non park hopper ticket so there was no way we could park hop.

:headache:

Well... that sucked.

Plan C! After a quick "what should we do now" chat we got back to Kidani as quickly as we could, walked the 13.4 miles back to our room, got my drivers license and hauled it back to the bus, but this time for Hollywood Studios. By this time it was about 8pm. Epcot closed at 9:00, so scrap that plan, Hollywood closed at 9:30. So we could still get there, got our AP thing finally sorted and ride one or two things, skip MK because it closed at 10:00.

:faint:

Sidebar...what's with the early park closings during the Summer???

Well, you know. Since they're practically empty and all.....

ToT was a walk on, which was awesome,

It was?!?!? Nice!

decided it was now a 2 park challenge!! And left HS as Star Wars fireworks boomed overhead. We got right in the bus to Animal Kingdom ( hey maybe our luck is changing!) and went right towards Everest, rode twice

Woot!

Pulled pork cheese fries to the rescue!!

Oh, man... that looks good.

If you have not had these yet shame on you. Go directly to Flame Tree next time you are at AK and get them.

I put it on my to-do list!

Ok guys, I am not an avatar fan but this place is cool!! We choose to do the Na'vi river journey, which was about a 40 minute wait and then go back to Kidani and call it a day.

Wait! Stop!
How was the ride??

Now in some DVC studios all you have is a queen bed and a pull out sofa bed. I go to make up the sofa bed for Kiya and it pulls out about half way and gets stuck. Nnnooooooooo!!!! 1:00am and Bob has to walk the 17.4 miles back to the front desk, after he had just been there trying to figure out why his MB wasn't working at Disney Springs and tell them our sofa bed is jacked up and we have a tired 9 year old super girl that is ready to expire.

:sad2:
Glad it didn't take too long to fix.

Who the %#*^ is calling us at this ungodly hour???????

1:30am phone calls are seldom good news.

Coming up... mimosas make everything better

They do, don't they?

Trip was great, interesting though. Just a few bumps on the road..but it all ended up awesome. Hope your son in law is doing ok!

He is day by day improving, but it's gonna be sloooow going. The vertebral fracture was MUCH worse than we all thought, so now won't be going back to work for probably 3 months.

Oh well, at least we had them in our hot little hands.

Which is a better track record of my 0 for 3 right now. Stupid Southwest.

Ok last off the bus. I see a trend forming here.

D'oh! :headache:

The bus came fairly quickly and soon we were arriving at Epcot.

That's because there were 5 others that had come and gone while you were walking that 14.8 miles.

and we hot footed it over to ToT

If I were to have chosen a first ride, that would have been it!!!

and went right towards Everest, rode twice and then grabbed a snack at Flame Tree BBQ.

A worthy 2nd place choice! You gals are on a ROLL!!!

I am not an avatar fan but this place is cool!! We choose to do the Na'vi river journey, which was about a 40 minute wait and then go back to Kidani and call it a day.

Can't wait to do this ride!!

Coming up... mimosas make everything better

Why yes, yes they do!

Wow what a flight, but glad you got there safely although very much later than expected!

It was, but would much rather arrive 4 1/2 hours late and safely than not at all :)

I'm always like, are we there yet while on ME to the resorts?!?

I know, patience is not one of my stronger traits.

Cute matching Tiaras! Did you wear them the whole time?

Thanks! My sister gave me mine for my birthday and Kiya liked it so much she "had to have one". Thank you Amazon prime and two day shipping!

we got upgraded to Savannah view, and we though, oh cool, but it was the 2nd to last room down a hall at Jambo House. It was such a nice view but that walk back every day/night

Love the savannah view but whew, what a walk!

I miss the old days of just being able to get out of bed. getting on the first bus that comes and then just going where the universe takes you

The thought of that is growing on me. But you're right, if it wasn't for FP+ I think we would wing it more. Darn you Disney for feeding my obsessive planning needs!

hate that! I assume that they're lost if they're not in the first dozen or so.

Me too :scared:

Awww!! Look at you guys in your tiaras!

:p We are too cool for the Savannah

You have to time travel to get to your room! So cool!!

Coming soon to a Star Wars themed hotel near you!

It gets longer the more tired you are.

True, so true

I know, sorry

It was?!?!? Nice!

ToT is hardly ever a walk on, except if you can hit it right at park opening and right before Star Wars fireworks apparently.
How was the ride?

Whoops! Another TR fail! Na'Vi river is a very cool ride, very relaxing and lots of stuff to look at. Kinda on the shorter side like Frozen, but it's beautiful. The boats are only two seats long and hold probably only 6 people. I would FP+ this one if it's really hot out because the que is mostly outside so = hot!

1:30am phone calls are seldom good news.

They often aren't but this one was different

The vertebral fracture was MUCH worse than we all thought, so now won't be going back to work for probably 3 months.

Oh man! What a bummer

Which is a better track record of my 0 for 3 right now. Stupid Southwest.

Ugh!! That stinks!!

That's because there were 5 others that had come and gone while you were walking that 14.8 miles.

Hahahahaha you are probably spot on with that

Can't wait to do this ride!!

You will love it! Still planning a Dapper Day trip?

Day 2
California Grill Brunch
And we get spontaneous!
We left off with our phone ringing at 1:30 am. And as @pkondz said, phone calls at this hour are rarely good news. Except this one.

Bob picks up the phone "Hello Mr. Bob, this is Jason at the front desk, we would like to apologize for the challenges you have had today and would like to let you know I am putting a $250 credit in your portfolio so that you may spend it on anything you wish. Have a good night."

Pixie dust at its finest :tinker:.

What I neglected to tell you earlier when our flight was so incredibly delayed Southwest handed out $100 vouchers to everyone on the flight for the inconvenience. So Kiya and I each received $100, plus the $250 pixie dust from the awesome Jason. So at this point we could care less about our day 1 troubles!

giphy.gif

We slept in a bit the next morning and hopped in the car to the Contemporary for something I had been looking forward to for a long time. Sunday Bunch at California Grill! Just FYI if you are driving and have brunch reservations here valet parking is included.

giphy.gif

We are feelin' so fancy!

They escorted us up the elevator and immediately handed us a mimosa. I think I'm going to like it here. They even had a special sparkling white cranberry something or other for Kiya. We were given an absolutely beautiful table by the window overlooking the lake out at the GF and MK

100% Bob approved!

Our server, Charmaine was fantastic and the food was incredible. First you are invited to the buffet for "starters". Which consisted of salads, sushi, various cheesees and meats. I'm sure there are other things I'm forgetting. Then you order your main dish off the menu. You may even choose two entrees if you like. Charmaine kept offering us more mimosas ( I had three) and made a special iced coffee for Bob. Kiya and I both got eggs Benedict, hers traditional and mine with poached lobster and Bob got the steak with chimichuri sauce ( picture fail, sorry guys). And after we were through Charmaine brought a plate of small desserts.
IMG_2335.JPG
They were all lovely but we were so full all we could manage to eat were the chocolate bark and we each had a chocolate, all three had different flavors but I can't remember what they were. She was kind enough to box the rest up for us to take home.

This was one of our favorite dining experiences so far. Lovely Unrushed service, awesome food, beautiful setting and mimosas!! Now if you are paying out of pocket it will set you back some funds. I think our bill came to $300 something :scared1: but we had the DxDP So all but the tip was covered. I have to say if you are going to splurge on signature restaurants the DxDP isan awesome way to go. I think it runs $106.68 per adult/per day and $38.75/children under 10 and kids can order off the adult menu. The CG brunch more than made up for the daily cost alone.

We discussed during brunch what we wanted to do after. Our choices were to go back to the resort or pick a park to visit. We had FP+ for Na'vi River late that night so we were free to do whatever. And so we ultimately decided to revisit the 4 park challenge!

We grabbed a monorail to MK and rode HM and the PeopleMover
IMG_2336.JPG
IMG_2339.JPG
Sidebar... let me just tell you how wonderful portable fans are. The one Kiya is holding we purchased from Amazon for $15 and it's a USB rechargeable fan with mist. LIFESAVER!! We each had our own and I think I would have been like Olaf by the fire if I didn't have one.

After MK we monorailed it to Epcot and rode Spaceship Earth and Soarin, then had to monorail it back to the Contemporary to pick up the car and drove to HS and rode the Great Movie Ride. (Bye GMR!) we had a dinner reservation at Flying Fish so we were pushing it timewise. We ended up being 15 minutes late for our dinner reservation but they were very nice about it. I'm sure we are not the only ones that are ever late at Disney :rolleyes1

Flying Fish was awesome as usual. It has become our Signature "go to" place. We have always had great service and food that we love. I know some folks have not had such great experiences there or loved the old FF better, but for us it's always been super.

Up next, we finish our evening at AK with some Rivers of Light and possibly the best ride on Disney property!

In other news we have a new baby in the house!
IMG_2426.JPG
This is Belle! She is hanging out next to her new buddy, Angus. We adopted her about a week ago from the Humaine Society. When we saw her they had already named her Belle so we just new she was meant for us! Angus, our black cat is huge and we call him the Beast a lot, so how appropriate that we now have Beauty and the Beast

Wow!!! While I think I may have been slightly annoyed with the timing of the call kudos to disney for making it right. If it gets me $250 they can call me at 1am any day :-)

It looks like Kiya and Casey are sushi loving sisters :-) Can't wait to try this on our next trip!

We discussed during brunch what we wanted to do after. Our choices were to go back to the resort or pick a park to visit. We had FP+ for Na'vi River late that night so we were free to do whatever. And so we ultimately decided to revisit the 4 park challenge!
Wow, you all are hard core. Go you!

We are always late in disney so you can include us in the club :-) Flying fish was always our go to as well, but we weren' as enamored with their post refurb menu. Looking forward to trying it again on our next trip though.

:p We are too cool for the Savannah

Too regal.

Coming soon to a Star Wars themed hotel near you!

"I walked to my room in less than 12 parsecs."

ToT is hardly ever a walk on, except if you can hit it right at park opening and right before Star Wars fireworks apparently.

So I've heard.

Thanks for the tip. Sounds like a nice ride... but not exactly a thrill a minute.

Bob picks up the phone "Hello Mr. Bob, this is Jason at the front desk, we would like to apologize for the challenges you have had today and would like to let you know I am putting a $250 credit in your portfolio so that you may spend it on anything you wish. Have a good night."

Score!

The longer you stay at Disney, the richer you become!

Sunday Bunch at California Grill!

Oh! Nice. Didn't know they had brunch there.

Just FYI if you are driving and have brunch reservations here valet parking is included.

Nice little perk. Doubt if I ever go, that I'd drive, though.

They escorted us up the elevator and immediately handed us a mimosa.

I'm thinking more and more I need to do this.

We were given an absolutely beautiful table by the window overlooking the lake out at the GF and MK

Wow! What a view!

Someone looks very pleased.

And so does Bob!

Charmaine kept offering us more mimosas ( I had three)

That you can remember...

Kiya and I both got eggs Benedict, hers traditional and mine with poached lobster

Yum!!!! And I've never heard of poached lobster Bennies. Was it good?

I think our bill came to $300 something :scared1: but we had the DxDP So all but the tip was covered.

Nice!

We grabbed a monorail to MK and rode HM

I approve. You can stop now.

Cute shot of you guys.

Sidebar... let me just tell you how wonderful portable fans are. The one Kiya is holding we purchased from Amazon for $15 and it's a USB rechargeable fan with mist. LIFESAVER!! We each had our own and I think I would have been like Olaf by the fire if I didn't have one.

I was wondering if that's what she was holding.

I'm sure we are not the only ones that are ever late at Disney :rolleyes1

Nope. You're the only ones.

possibly the best ride on Disney property!

Hmmm.... I've been hearing a bit about that new Avatar ride...
That or EE.

This is Belle! She is hanging out next to her new buddy, Angus.

Nice! Not fighting. A co-worker now has two cats..... and they have to be kept in separate rooms when no one's home.

When we saw her they had already named her Belle so we just new she was meant for us!

::yes::

Angus, our black cat is huge and we call him the Beast a lot, so how appropriate that we now have Beauty and the Beast

Perfect.

You will love it! Still planning a Dapper Day trip?

Yes, actually, I am. I will PM you shortly...

There should be a club. Clothing mishaps on Disney trips. You could join; I'd qualify the Disney Springs night after AoA checking incident in that family. :lmao:

Yes, I have well... more than one incident going on here. Apparently the apple doesn't fall far from the tree either, as Anara has learned the art well. Pantsing herself in the middle of a crowded restaurant was practicing the art to perfection.

WHA...??! That's ridiculously awesome! Wahooooty!

So at this point we could care less about our day 1 troubles!

Yes, I'd say so!

I think it runs $106.68 per adult/per day and $38.75/children under 10 and kids can order off the adult menu. The CG brunch more than made up for the daily cost alone.

I had no idea this even existed. That actually sounds really nice. I'm not a big breakfast eater, but can totally see a nice leisurely brunch a bit later with perfectly delightful looking food. And mimosas? Heck yes!

And I'm actually starting to wonder if the DxDP is for me. Seems the more I go, the more I want to try the nicer restaurants and slow down with longer, quieter meals. Hmmm......

And so we ultimately decided to revisit the 4 park challenge!

You can do it!!! Never done that yet, but sure came close once with getting 3 in.

After MK we monorailed it to Epcot and rode Spaceship Earth and Soarin, then had to monorail it back to the Contemporary to pick up the car and drove to HS and rode the Great Movie Ride. (Bye GMR!)

You guys were on a ROLL!!! That's a lot of walking and moving!

Glad your luck is beginning to change

It was, thankfully! :flower1:

Things for me to remember:
*poached lobster eggs benedict
*portable misting fans

an absolute must on both accounts. Fans especially if you go during the Summer. Since we live in a place with no humidity it can be brutal.

Aww, you all look so happy! So glad you got some pixie dust to make up for your little wrinkles. And look at all that bonus exercise you are getting, lol!

Thanks! Any bonus exercise I can get is good in my book. Especially the with the way we eat while we are there.

If it gets me $250 they can call me at 1am any day

For real, right?

It looks like Kiya and Casey are sushi loving sisters :-) Can't wait to try this on our next trip!

I hope you love it too! I think Kiya could eat her weight in sushi.

Wow, you all are hard core. Go you!

It was all driven by Kiya. She is a monster park commando.

"I walked to my room in less than 12 parsecs."

The longer you stay at Disney, the richer you become!

I really like that concept...

Oh! Nice. Didn't know they had brunch there.

Ok what's with you and Liesa not knowing about brunch there? This must be remedied.

Nice little perk. Doubt if I ever go, that I'd drive, though.

We don't often get a car, mostly on short trips when time is at a premium. Sometimes it's nice not to have to wait on the busses, but it somehow looses it's magic vacation driving yourself around.

Yum!!!! And I've never heard of poached lobster Bennies. Was it good?

WHAT??????????:faint: you have not yet lived a full life until you're had lobster bennie's. Get to Cali Grill ASAP and get those babies! They were devine.

Cute shot of you guys.

:bitelip:

Yes, actually, I am. I will PM you shortly...

OMG!!! i just noticed our countdowns look extremely similar! Do tell!

had no idea this even existed. That actually sounds really nice. I'm not a big breakfast eater, but can totally see a nice leisurely brunch a bit later with perfectly delightful looking food. And mimosas? Heck yes!

you and Ponzi need to fix this. you can never go wrong with mimosas. I'm not huge on breakfast either, but leisurely brunch with live "disney jazz" playing in the background..sign me up!

And I'm actually starting to wonder if the DxDP is for me. Seems the more I go, the more I want to try the nicer restaurants and slow down with longer, quieter meals. Hmmm......

After our first trip with the DxDP we wondered if we would ever do it again. But now that we've done it a few times we love it. We usually do 1 Signature restaurant a day and either a QS or early TS lunch. Spendy, yes, but for us the price is totally worth it.

Day 2 Cont..
After a great dinner at Flying Fish we left the loveliness that is the Boardwalk and drove twords our home for the weekend. But no 4 park challenge day is complete without a visit to AK!

We went straight to Pandora to use our FP for Na'Vi River and said hello again to the 10ft. Tall Avatar shaman guy. It's amazing what they can do with animatronics!

We then headed over to the ROL area and we're lucky enough to get seated in the front row. There was some heat lightning going on in the distance so it made for a pretty cool show.

Sorry guys, picture fail again. Durp. We actually really enjoyed ROL, I had read that some other folks didn't enjoy it so much or thought it was full, but we thought it was really cool. I loved the spirituality of it and the beauty and grace of the animal spirits. Plus massive water cannons that show pretty pictures doesn't hurt either.

After ROL we had a mission to get on Flight of Passage. The three of us had agreed that whatever the posted wait time was we would go for it. I'm not normally a fan of waiting in line more than an hour for anything, but let me tell you it was worth every minute of the 90 we waited. Posted wait time when we entered the que jumped to 120, probably due to the 85 person foreign tourist group that got in line in front of us :rolleyes1

Seriously. 85 people consisting of 80 teenage girls all holding hands, making a people chain so nobody could break them apart, and 5 chaperones bringing up the rear of their pack. :scared: What's with these huge groups that come in the Summer? I had never seen anything like it before, but on this trip we saw several.

Anyhow, even the que for FOP is awesome so it passes the time pretty quickly. It takes you through several themed areas to keep you busy looking at things so you don't realize you're standing for an hour and a half.

I'm sure most of you have read about FOP or experienced it for yourself by now, so I won't go into a lot of detail, but let me just tell you it was amazing. I was a little worried at first because I am prone a little motion sickness but it didn't bother me at all. This ride is definitely a must do!

We closed down AK and dragged our butts back to Kidani Village for some much needed recouperation, we had a date with Pooh and his pals for breakfast the next morning.

Sorry for the lack of photos in this post, I was having a great time living in the moment of the evening and didn't take any pictures at all!

So
I'll leave you with some views of our room on the Savannah.

We went straight to Pandora to use our FP for Na'Vi River and said hello again to the 10ft. Tall Avatar shaman guy. It's amazing what they can do with animatronics!

Did I miss you mentioning this earlier? 10' shaman guy? What?

We then headed over to the ROL area and we're lucky enough to get seated in the front row.

Nice!

Sorry guys, picture fail again. Durp. We actually really enjoyed ROL, I had read that some other folks didn't enjoy it so much or thought it was full, but we thought it was really cool.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this in the not too distant future.

Plus massive water cannons that show pretty pictures doesn't hurt either.

Cool!

After ROL we had a mission to get on Flight of Passage. The three of us had agreed that whatever the posted wait time was we would go for it.

Whoa. I've heard of three plus hour wait times...

Posted wait time when we entered the que jumped to 120, probably due to the 85 person foreign tourist group that got in line in front of us :rolleyes1

Ugh.

Seriously. 85 people consisting of 80 teenage girls all holding hands, making a people chain so nobody could break them apart, and 5 chaperones bringing up the rear of their pack. :scared: What's with these huge groups that come in the Summer? I had never seen anything like it before, but on this trip we saw several.

I probably would've just turned around and tried another time. That's a bit much.

Anyhow, even the que for FOP is awesome so it passes the time pretty quickly. It takes you through several themed areas to keep you busy looking at things so you don't realize you're standing for an hour and a half.

Really! Intrigued.

I'm sure most of you have read about FOP or experienced it for yourself by now, so I won't go into a lot of detail, but let me just tell you it was amazing. I was a little worried at first because I am prone a little motion sickness but it didn't bother me at all. This ride is definitely a must do!

I have yet to hear a negative word about it.

But no 4 park challenge day is complete without a visit to AK!

Well, technically, by definition...

10ft. Tall Avatar shaman guy. It's amazing what they can do with animatronics!

This I need to see!!

Plus massive water cannons that show pretty pictures doesn't hurt either.

Certainly NOT!

I'm not normally a fan of waiting in line more than an hour for anything

You're generous! My limit is 30.

HI guys!

Yep, I've been hiding again. This real life business really gets in the way of my DIS time for real.

We went down to DW again Labor Day weekend, just for 3 nights, stayed 2 at POR in a Royal Room ( so cool) and then moved to our new home at the Poly for one night using our DVC points. Bob and I both noticed how we liked the Poly much better this time than when we were there last year. Maybe the fact that we have financially committed to it for 50 years has something to do with it???

Anyhoo, we had a lake view studio and it was lovely.

We did not visit AK this trip but did go to MK, HS and Epcot.

It was a great trip, but pretty darn hot and we were glad to get home before Irma hit FL.

I'll take you on a little photo tour of our latest trip.

Got to see Space mountain with the lights on while on the people mover!

It was strange seeing all the Halloween stuff up already, it just didn't seem like it was time yet for some reason.

We went to Ohana for dinner

And our server was fantastic. She saw that all Kiya was eating out of the veggies was the broccoli and she brought her out a platter of just broccoli . :tilt:

We also got to have a quick meet-up with @ChunkyMonkey! It's always so great to see Su-Lynn and her husband!

We had a great but quick trip and can't wait wait for the next one in November!

Hey! You know what you should do? Win the lottery! That would fix that, you know.

I recognize those people!

It was strange seeing all the Halloween stuff up already, it just didn't seem like it was time yet for some reason.

Because it is too early.
