The Last Trip: An (Eastern) Fantasy Food Adventure-Bonus Feature, Pam & Her Mom Pt 2 Sept 17 the end

Travel ban lifted! :woohoo:

CC is empty! I am sure the rain scared folks away.

Cute cute pics with Pluto.

So another Real Life update. We lifted the Travel Ban!

party::woohoo::banana::cheer2: That's great news!

The 1st class/business flights that we used to take for 25K miles for each jaunt are now 45K each flight.

Boo American!

When I woke up it was pouring rain, like monsoon, not the sprinkle we had in St. Thomas.

Yikes. That looks really miserable.

I stopped in the Cove Cafe to get my double Americano and realized that I forgot my coffee card. This was my last one before I got another free one. The CM was so nice he gave me a new card with 5 stamps on it! Perhaps adding on an extra tip (even if it's small) helps out.

Nice of him to hook you up!

I also tried to get mayonnaise, but when I pumped the dispenser, the nozzle shot off and hit the floor!

Wow. You don't know your own strength! Have you been exposed to gamma rays?

I was amazed at how empty the beaches were, I guess a bunch of people opted to stay on the ship that day.

That really is amazing. I'm sure a lot of people saw the rain and said, "Nope!"

I would have loved to be out there with such light crowds. Really loved Castaway Cay.

So happy you are going to get to go to the World this fall. We are actually taking this same cruise in Oct so it has been awesome following along with your TR. We are actually doing a Sea/Land trip this year so we might see you guys. Cruise Oct 21-28 and Land Oct 28- Nov 1. Thank you for posting your Rainforest room pictures! This is our first trip on the Dream class and were wondering what it was like. Can't wait for vacation!!

Your morning sounds so blissful in the Rainforest Room! That is a great way to start the morning!

You are so right that when you tip well in the beginning - you get remembered and get much better service throughout the cruise! Glad the Cove Café took care of you so well!

I'm glad to see the travel ban has been lifted!!! Progress is good!

I'm glad you got to have your relaxing morning at the spa while everything was being delayed by the rain. It seems kind of fortuitous that you avoided crowds both in the spa and on Castaway Cay... at least so far.

Yikes! What a downpour!

Sounds like it was a relaxing morning.

Is that purple shirt a Haunted Mansion design? Adorable!

Your Castaway Cay day looks quite relaxing! From Rainforest Room in the morning, to the overcast day on the beach... looks great.

CC day!!! :cool1: only bad thing about CC day is its almost always the last day of the cruise

I know. That's why it's important to have some days at WDW following the cruise to ease the blow.

Lovely to spend some time in the Rainforest Room, and how fantastic you pretty much had it to yourself.

I'm for sure getting a week long pass for our cruise next year. While Fran is asleep I can relax there, but then again I could also hang out with you, Jeanette, Karin, Tom, Jenny and Jill!

Very nice of the CM and the coffee card.

It was! I will always add a little extra tip for the bartenders and coffee people!

Love your HM shirt!

Thanks! I just got a gray one too!

Oh my about the mayo top flying to the floor.

I know, and I didn't even push it that hard!

Your CC pictures are lovely!

Thanks! :flower3:

Yes--that is definitely the plan!

We will have to see if we have any money when that comes around. Keep me posted when they are going to open it up!

Hooray! Glad you've made enough progress that traveling is back on the table :)

Well we haven't done that good, but I'm hoping that the rest of this goes quickly.

Pretty cool to have such low crowds at Castaway Cay--like having the island to yourself.

The family beach was less crowded than the adult one, but it was still OK.

When do you leave in November? We arrive on November 2nd!

We leave on the 2nd. :sad2: I'm already making this trip one day longer than Fran wanted it to be, but I bet that if I had tried to find rooms for Nov. 2, as late as I was booking, I have a feeling they would have been sold out due to the marathon.

Yay for Orlando!!! Woohoo, good news indeed!

I'm really going to need it by the time it gets here!

I totally missed photo op's of characters in their beach wear, bummer. Glad the weather improved, such a shame to dock at CC and have that awful weather greet you. Starting your day off at the Rainforest room was an excellent idea :thumbsup2

I was so glad I spotted them. We had to go back up to deck 3 since I saw them in the elevator going down.

I was away for a few days so I was a couple of updates behind.

I'm not updating that fast!

Glad you are just about done with the house so you can lift the travel ban! I love WDW in the fall, I think I like the Fall decorations maybe a tad more than the Christmas ones. I just love those Mickey Pumpkins.

I just love going during Food & Wine!

Fun SDAS pics!

Thanks! :goodvibes

That dessert tasting looked really good, definitely looked enough to replace a meal. I would definitely add that to my list if I ever get on a Disney Cruise.

It's only on the Dream and Fantasy, during the last sea day. I'm not sure I would want to do it again, unless I get my blood sugar down. Could have been the sugar that got to me later that day.

Sounds like the rain probably did scare people away from Castaway Cay but I bet it was nice to not have a huge crowd there.

It was nice not having to fight people in the stores and the walking paths.

Travel ban lifted! :woohoo:

CC is empty! I am sure the rain scared folks away.

Cute cute pics with Pluto.

I'm so glad to be able to plan again! I just wish I had the time!

Awesome. That's a great time to head to Orlando.

I definitely tend to like that time, not too hot, and lots of good food!

That's a shame.

Yes, but it worked out good!

Fantastic pics with M&P. Love your HM top. You look amazing in it.

Thanks! I like that shirt, but I have so many tanks that I like that it doesn't figure into the rotation often. Plus if I'm doing hard labor, I don't want to ruin it!

Amazing how rain keeps people away!

Which is why I wasn't so saddened by all the rain, we didn't have any excursions planned.

party::woohoo::banana::cheer2: That's great news!

I'm so happy to be back planning. It sucked not being able to plan for stuff.

Boo American!

Totally. :p

Yikes. That looks really miserable.

I'm glad I just watched it from the balcony. They had to work in it.

Nice of him to hook you up!

I really think it was the extra tipping, even if it wasn't a lot.

Wow. You don't know your own strength! Have you been exposed to gamma rays?

That really is amazing. I'm sure a lot of people saw the rain and said, "Nope!"

I would have loved to be out there with such light crowds. Really loved Castaway Cay.

Especially for you and your family, the water features were totally empty.

We will be there for your land part. If you want to make arrangements to meet up, I have our days you're on land sort of planned out. If anything overlaps we could potentially meet up.

Your morning sounds so blissful in the Rainforest Room! That is a great way to start the morning!

I'm convinced that I need to start almost every day that way on the Fantasy!

You are so right that when you tip well in the beginning - you get remembered and get much better service throughout the cruise! Glad the Cove Café took care of you so well!

I've known that to be the case, but this time it really paid off!

I'm glad to see the travel ban has been lifted!!! Progress is good!

Now if we could just finish that tiny bit that is left to do I would feel a whole lot better!

I'm glad you got to have your relaxing morning at the spa while everything was being delayed by the rain. It seems kind of fortuitous that you avoided crowds both in the spa and on Castaway Cay... at least so far.

And spoiler alert, we do that for the rest of the day, but it's not all sunshine and lollipops!

Yikes! What a downpour!

Sounds like it was a relaxing morning.

I was glad that the downpour got overwith before we wanted to go to the island.

Is that purple shirt a Haunted Mansion design? Adorable!

It is! I just got a gray one about a week ago as well.

Your Castaway Cay day looks quite relaxing! From Rainforest Room in the morning, to the overcast day on the beach... looks great.

It was a pretty "no stress" day which is nice for the last day of the cruise.

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: I like both ideas!!!

I'm having a hard time to not start overplanning for this trip, we haven't even done the trip in October/November this year. We should plan some meets when we get together in September for that trip!

We left off at Castaway Cay. Soon we were boarded onto our tram to Serenity Bay and heading down the airstrip to our lunch.

It was 1PM now and I was definitely hungry so we went right for the buffet.

They had gazpacho and Fran was all over that.

The area was sandy, but the sand was so well packed that she didn't have a problem with her scooter on the packed sand.

We got tomato salad, potato salad, cous cous, corn on the cob for veggies. She got a burger, I got a hot dog to split. I also got a pork rib and some Mahi Mahi. She also asked me to get her a plate of fruit. Lunch was great and super filling!

Fran skipped dessert but I decided I would have an ice cream cone. I wasn't paying close attention and I thought I was getting a Strawberry and vanilla cone, but it turns out that it was strawberry and banana. It was surprisingly good, I never would have expected that.

We went to the bar since I wanted a fruity drink as we looked out over the ocean. When we got there I had to have a coconut to go with our mug collection. Fran wanted the Moana mug, and for the price of the mug, you could get it full of a non alcoholic beverage. So she had them fill them with Diet Coke and I got my *blue drink*.

The skies looked ominous so we decided to head back to the ship in case the rain came back.

Of course we just missed the tram, but it wasn't a long wait for the next one.

This decal was on our mirror for the Star Wars day. I now have it on our french doors in the family room along with the Captain Mickey which was gifted to us on the Alaskan Cruise! It reminds me daily of what great times we had on our cruises and how much I want to go back!

In the room, Fran laid down but stayed awake long enough to finish BHC. I packed up another suitcase worth of clothes, and then went back up to the Rainforest Room. But first I stopped by Guest Services to increase the tip amounts for our servers and stateroom host.

One of the hot tubs was occupied by a couple, but the other had just one woman in there so I climbed in. We ended up talking for the entire time. She had seven kids and six were on the ship, so she was hiding from her family.

It was probably 6PM when I got back to the room and I put everything that I could into suitcases. I laid out my clothes for disembarkation day, and put anything I wouldn't use between then and the hotel in a suitcase or carry-on. I filled out our luggage tags, envelopes for tips, and customs declaration. Then I started to attach the tags to our bags.

Fran actually started to work on some of her stuff and when we left for dinner three of our five bags were lined up, sealed and ready to go. The sunset wasn’t going to be spectacular this evening due all the clouds.

[Continued in Next Post]

[Continued from Previous Post]

I wanted to stop by Skyline for a drink before dinner. This is my favorite bar on the ship and we had only been in it for the Mixology class.

Dinner this last night was at Enchanted Garden. Our tablemates were back, so of all the seven nights, it was only the first and last night's that all four of us were together. I had tuna sashimi

Our tablematers ordered the Porcini Sachetti

Fran had Malaysian Chicken satay

She also got a bowl of Lobster Bisque

She had the Beef Wellington and was very happy with this.

Our tablemate got the same plain chicken that she liked so much.

And I got the lamb, I liked this well enough.

The dessert menu came….

Finally we both got Mickey Bars for dessert.

Back in the room, we packed up everything else haphazardly and put the suitcases out the door before 10:30.

Sleep came easy that night.

Hey Alison,

Playing a bit of catch up and have enjoyed the chapters of your day from the BBQ and fruity drinks by the sea. I'm glad Fran's scooter worked on the packed sand; there have been times in past TRs where it hasn't worked out so well. Dinner looked yummy as usual. You know... I"ve never tried Beef Wellington. I need to change that! Mmm! Looks great.

I can see why that bar would be a favorite. Very nice in there from your photos.

I have miss quite a lot of updates these last few weeks. Now I am caught back up.

Star Wars Day at Sea sounds very interesting and see all those people all dressed up is neat as well especially with the mini Stormtrooper.

Very nice pics with Vader. I can never get tired of seeing your food porn pics during your DCL trips. The desserts look good and at Animator's Palate looks amazing.

Nice to read that you will be going back to Florida in Oct/Nov. With the Disney Parks which rain scares the guests away just like at CC.

Glad that Serenity Bay was not raining and had quite a nice time. Dinner at Enchanted Garden looks great. I always say that about your food pics but it is nice to see all the different dishes that you try during your DCL.

Very nice updates.

I'm having a hard time to not start overplanning for this trip, we haven't even done the trip in October/November this year. We should plan some meets when we get together in September for that trip!

Absolutely!

Great last day. Lunch at SB is always a favorite of ours with all that fresh yummy food. Glad the packed sand was easy for the scooter. Also glad you avoided the rain.

Lovely to spend more time in the RR.

Love the SW decal!

Well done with your packing early.

Well eventhough the weather didn't completely cooperate looks like you had a good CC day, that lunch looked great.

Glad you were able to get in another rainforest visit :thumbsup2 6 kids in one family? Yeah I'd be hiding from my family too at that point :scared1:

Loved Enchanted Garden, definitely my fave restaurant on the Fantasy! Looks like a great last dinner (sad though....last dinner....*sigh*) Also seeing your SW decal reminds me I forgot to take ours from our mirror, I remembered it a couple days after we were home and looking at all our photos :sad2:

Can't believe your report is nearly done!

Packing the bags... never a fun task. Not a bad afternoon/evening though! I really think the Skyline bar looks cool. I've obviously never been in any of the bars on a Disney ship, but I can see how this could be an easy favorite.
