So. Many. People.

Last week honestly was not that bad. I have certainly seen it worse. Monday (11/13) was horrible - but we realized later that it was fallout from a long veterans day weekend. Tuesday - Friday the crowds were actually very reasonable as far as we could tell.

we were at Epcot Sunday and Monday (12th and 13th) and thought it was pretty busy in WS, but not so much in FW, but I'm sure that was because of the end of F&W. We thought the crowds were relatively low the rest of the week in all the other parks (despite Pandora being a crazy busy place when we were there, but that's kind of normal), but not as low as the days immediately before and after Irma, which was the quietest I have ever seen the parks.

Saw that for Peoplemover during Spring/Easter break 2016. We went ahead and got in line and were on the ride in 15 minutes. Ride name checks out...it totally moves people, LOL.

Except when it breaks down, and the people have to be escorted off of it, like last Friday when I was riding it. LOL

This is the busiest trip for us. We went to HS today and got there around 925a. RnR was 105 and ToT 60.

I used to chase the low crowds. My trips are lot less stressful now that I just always expect it to be crowded.
Reminds me of one of my favorite quotes: "Missing a train is only painful if you were running after it." Zen and the art of Disney planning - you can't truly find the low crowds until you've given up on them.

I usually assume that it'll be slightly crazy to really crazy every time ago. At worst I'm prepared, and at best I'm pleasantly surprised that it's not as bad as I thought it might be.

Touring Plans reported Saturday (the 11th) ended up being a 10 out of 10 instead of the 8 out of 10 predicted at MK. It definitely was crowded. Felt like when I was there during Christmas week a few years ago.

I was referring to Saturday the 18th.

I didn't add when we got here. My apologies. LAST TUESDAY. It's been nuts the ENTIRE time. I expected this week to be busier. Not last week. And for all your "welcome to a holiday week" comments shove off. I posted this for people who might be considering coming here that are local.

I'm local and visit the parks frequently, unfortunately that's what Disney has become, crowded like 48 of the 52 weeks of the year.If you're not a frequent visitor it might seem crazy busy and overwhelming, last week was just normal, which means a lot of people at the parks,if you're not used to it you might say its nuts but its just the new normal.Last weekend being a holiday weekend was really packed, again just normal holiday weekend crowds.I went to Pandora with some family to try and ride FoP during mid day,now I've ridden FoP seven times but I normally go at night and try to ride it near park closing time, even doing that I usually end up waiting around two hours, besides using FP only once did I get on in under an hour.So when I went last Sunday and saw the FoP line reaching 3.5 hours and going into the path that leads to Africa I was in awe.I know it was partly the holiday weekend crowds but also that I never visit during a weekend mid day,so even to a local some times the crowds seem insane if they're not used to it.And June is actually pretty tame,July is the worst summer month, but overall summer crowds are picking other times in the year with better weather,it wouldn't surprise me if 10 years from now summer is not bad at all.

We have been the week before Thanksgiving twice. Generally, I find it a great time, but you have to gauge the crowds. I found WS busy all the time due to F&W, if it was too busy in one park, sometimes it was good to hop to another. Also, even though it was busy in some spots, we went to MVMCP the second trip and it was honestly one of the lowest crowd levels I have seen for a party. We could have visited that night, and never have had to come back to MK to do all we wanted to do.

July already isn't bad. We visited in late July last year, and crowds & waits were the lowest I'd experienced since our January 2009 visit. It wasn't even moderate crowds. It was low-moderate. Resort prices were much lower than they are in fall and spring, as well. ADRs & FPs were easy to get just a few weeks in advance.

We went Jersey Week/Christmas filming week/last week of food and wine/race weekend and it wasn't as bad as I expected. The only advice that DIDN'T work was to visit MK on a party day. We went twice, once to catch the fireworks we hadn't seen yet (I miss wishes) and once on a party day. We arrived at MK before 9AM on the first party day, got our three FP and no others, and lines were so long we tried Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom for the first time. I wouldn't expect to get much done on a party day.

This is my philosophy too. When going as a kid, it was always crowded. That was just part of the experience. Hot and crowded. But somehow still fun.
I went during one "off-season" time (late January) when I was a younger adult, and it definitely was pleasant with low crowds. The waits for rides were practically non-existent. But I knew that was because of the time of year (this was 18 years ago).
I planned our Easter 2016 trip as if the parks would be at capacity every day. We managed to stay a step ahead of the masses almost the entire time. The only slight inconvenience were the standing-room-only bus rides between the parks and resort. But even that wasn't such a big deal. I'd rather be standing on a bus heading to a park or my resort than sitting at home or work wishing I was at Disney. :)

I went in late January of this year, and I rarely rode on a bus that wasn’t standing room only, especially at night. The buses were packed out!

We also experienced a crowd level 8 day in the Magic Kingdom on a Saturday, so even the “low season” can be crazy!

Is going to MK on a party/event day to catch a lower crowd level a myth?

No, it isn't a myth. Crowds on party days at MK will be lower than on non-party days, because those without a party ticket will often avoid a park that they have to leave so early and will plan to be in another park that's open late. Lower crowds don't necessarily mean low crowds - just fewer people than non-party days.

We were planning 2end week next November- but I’m seriously rethinking it now. I thought it was slower before thanksgiving. We drive from Ohio so I really don’t want to push the weather until December. Driving through WV with snow is NOT fun.

I was there from Nov 12-Nov 19. The only day i found unreasonable was Saturday Nov 18th. But this was expected as it was Mickey's birthday and Dapper Day at Magic Kingdom. Was informed by a CM that they were inches away from having to start closure procedures. The rest of the week was literally perfect. Barely any crowds. Did everything we wanted to. All big E-ticket rides. Sorry you had a different experience.

We just got back- we were there Nov 10th - Nov 17th. I didn't find the crowds to be overwhelming. We did MK on both Fridays- Veteran's Day and then again on the 17th, which were both Party days- showed up for EMH (7am) and between the two days, accomplished everything we wanted to accomplish. 7DMT was showing a 50 minute wait mid-morning on the 10th, but my husband and daughter entered the queue and made it back out to stroller parking in about 20 minutes, so I officially do NOT trust posted wait times. We pretty much rope dropped every park, so maybe that's why we were able to accomplish everything we wanted, but I'm pretty sure we didn't stand in any line longer than 30 minutes. AK was certainly more crowded than I'd ever seen it before, but it's been 5 years since we've been there, so that was pre-Pandora, and I was used to AK being just dead. (DHS seems to be the pretty much dead park now, at least before the new stuff opens.) Even still, the only time crowds were a problem was when we were looking for a place to sit to eat a CS lunch. (Ended up just standing by the fountain in the eating area by the Yak and Yeti CS.)
