{potential new owner} Question about Point Transfers

What are the restrictions involved with transferring points between members? Is it permitted for two members with different home resorts to swap an equal number of points back & forth to allow each to make reservations before the seven-month window?

Also - when points are transferred, I would assume that they maintain their original use year, rather than switching to that of the receiver's contract. So transferred points that expire on 30 June would maintain the same expiration date even if they are transferred to an owner with an October use year.

And finally - would I be correct that transferred points cannot be banked, even if they had not previously been banked by the original owner?

thanks. Understanding all the mechanics is one of the things that will go into the buying decision. Comes with being a scientist by trade, I suppose.

We have banked transferred points.

You can't transfer banked or borrowed points. Only current year points. But transferred points can be banked, but not borrowed.

You are limited to either one transfer in or one transfer out per UY.

Transferred points maintain their original UY and resort. They sometime will allow you to bank them even if they are passed their banking deadline. But you would have to ask MS if you can bank them before you transfer them to make sure. They might not allow it.

Banked points can not be transferred, but once transferred, they can be banked.

You are permitted one transfer in or out of your account, not one of each, per use year. The best way to get home resort piority at your non-home resort would be for a member at that resort to make a reservation in yourname, and you to make a reservation at your resort in their name.
