Points borrowing ?

I know this is probably a stupid question but here goes. I want to book in June using 56 points from my 2018 points. I also want to book in January 2019 using 66 points from my 2018 points. This means I will have to borrow from 2019 points. I have a June use year. Can I do this?
By the way this is my first reservation so I have 0 experience with this process.

June use year. How many points do you have coming June 2018?
Both trips are in your 2018 use year. If you have enough 2018 points then you don’t borrow anything. You just book. If you don’t have enough you will borrow 2019 points for the January 2019 trip.

Both your trips fall within your 2018 use year. For trips that fall within your 2018 use year (6/1/2018 - 5/31/2019), you may pay for it with any points you banked from 2017, points from 2018 and/or any points you borrow from 2019.

The answer to your question is yes. You can borrow points from 2019 to book the January 2019 trip.

Remember that borrowing is a final transaction. When you borrow those 2019 points they become 2018 points and will expire the same as other 2018 points if not used. Since they can't be banked back into 2019 if something should happen and you need to cancel they will need to be used before May 31, 2019.

Thanks for the help. After booking the June trip and going all the way through the reservation system I now see how it works.

Again, thanks
