Anyobe know the cost of non-alcoholic drinks (sparkling water, soda) in the bars?
Do they seem to mind if you spend time there enjoying the ambiance/activities, if you are drinking only non-alcoholic beverages?
Thanks

I'm not sure of the exact price of nonalcoholic beverages, I would guess a dollar or 2+ the 18% gratuity. However, you are not required to drink anything at all to spend time in the bars and lounges. I sometimes order an ice water or nothing at all.

Things are a lot different in a cruise ship bar compared to on land. There is no "buy or get out" going on, if you want to sit around and order nothing at all then you are more than welcome. If you want to order a non-alcoholic drink and relax, or even bring a soda you filled from the free soda station you are as welcome as someone building a shot glass mountain. Ok, you might actually be more welcome than that person ;)

Generally the only time someone is asked to not be in the bars is during private events, or if the person is under 18 and the bar has gone adult-only for the night. Otherwise enjoy the amenities on the ship, you have paid to be there after all.

Judging by some menus found on the DCL blog it looks like non-alcoholic mixed drinks tend to run around $3-5, plus the automatic gratuity.

Thanks!
We really want to enjoy the unique adult areas, and are grateful that is allowed for those who don't drink alcohol.

Really appreciate your helpful replies.

On sea day during our cruise in Alaska we went down to Cadillac Lounge in the middle of the day and brought a card game with us to pass the time. We didn't order any drinks, the server came over once to ask us if we wanted anything and we said we were good for now. That was it. No one bothered us, no one came over to ask us to buy a drink, no one else was even in there! It was a great quiet place to enjoy the scenery outside the portholes and relax. Coming from a "land" perspective it would feel VERY weird to walk into a "lounge" hang out and not buy anything. On the cruise it felt weird at first, but we just thought of all the spaces as "public use" with a bar attached for convience and it made it easier for us to make that mental switch. The Disney Wonder staff however never made us feel awkward or like we had to purchase a drink.

IMHO Disney has realized with it focusing on family cruises, that there are a lot of families that don't drink or don't drink much.

When we first cruised the Drink of the Day was an alcoholic drink. Now they have both alcohol and non-alcohol Drink of the Day.
