A co-worker/great friend is surprising his wife of 20 years a five day vacation into the Kingdom. He called for the end of November and was able to book the Grand Stand at Saratoga Springs. He is a complete newbie when it comes to Disney, and wants my help to plan this adventure.
Im looking for fun escapes, romantic getaways and generally nice things for a couple like them to go out and do. He already booked the candlelight Processional so he hit the ball out of the park with that.
BUT can you guys help him figure out more things he can bring his bride "out on the town" so to speak.

He should do dinner at cinderella's castle and look into the 'extra addons' they offer.

If they went to one of the countries at Epcot for their honeymoon, he should book a dinner at that country and see what extras they have.

Definitely do the memory maker and get lots of pictures of them together!

Keys to the kingdom is the best tour and a different way to experience and learn about Magic kingdom - and it goes into the underground areas and backstage.

obviously be sure they grab ANNIVERSARY buttons.

Maybe a VIP tour would be a special way to go through the parks.

The carriage ride is really nice. We did the one through Fort Wilderness, others have said the one at the Port Orlean's resort is lovely as well.
Take her out on a bar crawl through the monorail resorts. The resorts are very romantic on their own. Tell him to get the DxDP and he can spoil her with some fancy dining.

Tell 'em happy 20th! RE: Saratoga Springs - if available, we like the Congress Park area for easy access to Disney Springs. It's an easy walk from there to the path. Dinner suggestions: Monsieur Paul's in the France Pavilion, Epcot, upstairs of Chef's de France. It's a quieter, more romantic, often overlooked spot. Other great options, The Yachtsman at the Yacht and Beach club, and California Grill at the Contemporary. We also like Artist's Point at the Wilderness Lodge and Citrico's or Narcoosie's at the Grand Floridian are not bad either. For the ultimate in dining, Victoria and Albert's, if you can get it. Make the reservations ASAP!

Keys to the Kingdom is a really good tour and during the holidays there are the holiday specific tours (if they still have them) Yuletide Fantasy was good and we really like the Magic Behind our Steam Trains tour. That one isn't too romantic though!

An evening walk around the Boardwalk and Yacht and Beach club might be nice. Wandering around Wilderness Lodge or the trail between the Poly and Grand Flo could be good also. During the holidays each resort is decorated for Christmas and a tour of the resorts can be nice and get you in the holiday mood. The monorail resorts are easy for this and, if it is open at that time, the Grand Flo will have the life sized Gingerbread House. Boats go over the the Wilderness Lodge too which is especially nice during Christmas.

And a nice touch. Have something delivered to the room from the Disney Florists. Not inexpensive but very romantic!

If she's a big Disney fan, consider Lunch with an Imagineer a HS. Great meal, very interesting conversation and a totally unique experience.

Here is another vote for a visit to the Boardwalk/Crescent Lake. There are a number of fine dining establishments there such as the Flying Fish and the Yachtsman Steakhouse over at the Yacht Club resort. After dinner perhaps a visit to Jellyrolls. Or perhaps a stop at Ample Hills Creamery or the AbracadaBar. Or just a stroll or a surrey ride around Crescent Lake.

If your friend was more of a Disney fan I might suggest a tour but being a "newbie" I am not sure that a tour is the best use of a first visit to Disney. At most I might suggest a beginners tour like Marceline to Magic Kingdom. Or perhaps the Wild Africa Trek if they are animal lovers.

I would also suggest planning for a couple of the evening events. I am a fan of Illuminations. That would make a wonderful end for their evening of the Candlelight Processional. If they are familiar with some of the Disney movies perhaps another evening for Happily Ever After show at the Magic Kingdom.

When they visit the parks make sure they look into the live shows. Certainly the Lion King at AK is a must see.
WDW is a great place for adults. We have been visiting for over 20 years. Wishing your friends a pixiedust: visit!

Victoria and Alberts! If that's too expensive, maybe consider a late night dinner reservation at California Grill. It also might be romantic to do a couples massage at one of the spas.
