As promised here is my review of my new stroller. Remember this picture?

The Saturn Instep Stroller SS150. I received it Thursday and looking at it I noticed that the seat really is bigger than the typical stroller seat. It’s higher in back so my DD’s head is not hitting the top bar. Again, it has a weight limit of 50 pounds which is the heaviest I’ve ever seen and my girl is two ½ and 38 pounds so I wasn’t buying a stroller with a 40 pound weight limit. But even though the seat was bigger, the foot rest wasn’t quite low enough and her knees were bent up a little high (she is tall for her age too). But she was not able to reach the floor with her feet and stop the whole thing from moving which was a releif. And she was definitely more comfortable in this than she was in the umbrella. She was way too small for an umbrella and was strong enough that one day I was checking out at a local department store and she leaned over and it tipped over, with her strapped in it!

The wheels on this thing are not regular stroller wheels, they need to be filled with air, like bicycle tires. But I’m pretty sure this stroller will be allowed at WDW parks. The wheel is under the stroller, not sticking out. I have to admit though that is my biggest fear but this is a hybrid model, it is billed as a combination, jogging/convenience stroller. I think it will be OK.

I took it to the mall today and I wasn’t twenty steps in when I women came running over to me asking where I got it and how much I paid etc. I loved having this stroller at the mall! It maneuvers great! The front wheel swivels and you can turn so much easier than any stroller I’ve ever had! The ride was so smooth too due to the inflated rubber tires. I like to walk at a fast pace and it was so nice to not have to struggle to get the stroller around. Going in and around the clothing racks was a breeze! When I stopped at the food court for lunch I put the drinks in the cupholder (never had those on a stroller before! It was wonderful!!!), held the tray in one hand and was able to push the stroller WITH THE OTHER HAND. YES!!! I COULD PUSH THIS THING WITH ONE HAND!! Have you ever tried to hold a cup in one hand (or anything else for that matter) and push a stroller. I was very pleased with that!

Now, weight and size…My last big stroller was a two seater with one in back of the other. That thing weighed a ton and took up my entire trunk. So that is what I am comparing this to. I felt that this was really light and folded up flat. Again, I’m not sure if it folds as flat as the Combi, or Kolcraft “lite” strollers but next to that big double stroller, this one was folded flat and not bad to pick up and put in the trunk. It didn't take up as much room in the trunk as the double one either. I would not feel bad one bit taking it on a WDW bus one bit.

Finally, I would say that if you have a bigger child and are looking for a hundred dollar stroller (I paid around $118) I would not hesitate to recommend this one. The seat is wider, taller, and more comfortable. A squirming toddler like mine couldn’t get out of the five point harness seatbelt. If you have a five year old or older, maybe you could buy this for your trip and give it to a friend with younger children. It came with a bar to attach that hold an infant carrier. If you want something easier to carry and don’t need such a high weight limit, maybe the maclaren volo (with the 40 pound weight limit) is more for you. Sorry this is so long but I have seen so many on here asking about strollers for an older child I thought this might help.

Your stroller looks really nice and the wheel arrangement looks very much like the ones on the jogging strollers that the Studio rents.

I just wanted to add something about air filled tires. My DD had airfilled tires on the front tires of her last wheelchair. It did make for a nice ride and easy rolling, but the tires sometimes didn't look flat when they needed air. And they sometimes were fine one day and the next week needed air. So it's a good idea to check the tires frequently. If they are low on air, the inner tube can be ruined by driving them. If you need air while you are at WDW, many of the resorts rent bikes, so you should be able to get your tires filled if you visit the bike rental area.

Thanks so much for that review, I am interested in this stroller.! I was curious, is the childs snack tray removable?
Thanks,
Elisabeth

Thanks SueM! I'll remember that. When I took it to the mall, my first stop was to a sporting goods store with a large bike department and they filled the tires for me. They actually looked fine, if the manuel didn't state that they came deflated, I probably would never had them checked. I bought a cheap air pump while I was there for ten bucks.

lulugirl, Yes the tray is removable. I didn't use it when I took my DD to the mall. When they are older it's easier to get them in and out without the tray. But the cupholder in it looks like a great idea for her.

Thanks SueM! I'll remember that.
I remember how hard it was to find replacement tires tubes in that size after we ruined a set. We finally exchanged the wheels for hard ones form her old wheelchair.

This stroller looks great. I just wish they made a two-seater that was a reasonable price. The only one I've found that has the wheel under the stroller is the Baby Jogger City Twinner for about $400. That's the one that was designed for WDW.

The only other possibility would be to buy two of the Saturn and clip them together. Is that even possible?

Thanks!

I was so surprised to see this stroller on this site. I have just had my third daughter, and despite our already owning 4 different strollers, I insisted on getting this one. It is the absolute best. I paid $99 at target. I've had it about a month and it works for my 6yo, 2yo, and my one month old. The only problem I have seen is drinks spill quite easily (as all strollers do) and more seriously, if you stand on the step the whole thing tips over on its side. This has happened twice with my 2yo. I am very cautious now and hold on whenever she gets in or out. I love the tires, the brake, the colapsing arm, and yes the tray is easily removable(with its own drink holder).
Enjoy, Carolyn
