May the Porg Be With You! A 13 day November adventure! *COMPLETED 2/23!*

Loving your report.

I see you went during jersey week which i hear is crazy crowded. How did you find the crowds to be? I’m going jersey week this year and I’m a bit afraid of the crowd levels.

I think the porg liked Chewie!

I think so too!

Just found your report and I'm really enjoying it!!uu
Looking forward to the rest!

Thank you!!

Thank you!

Jersey Week wasn't bad! There were obviously crowds, but I felt it was very manageable. The only time it felt a bit too much was the Saturday at MK - it was kind of nuts then (it was Jersey Week and Veterans Day weekend)

Day 9 - November 8th - DHS, part 3!

At 2 our FP for RNR was ready so we headed to Sunset Blvd.
39117970965_c4f1a3ef49_c.jpg

We got right in the FP line and this time Dad's name was on one of the posters! This feature is so cool. And creepy.

When the train pulled into the station I put my ears back on to speed things up. I heard the CM yelling but couldn't hear what they were saying. Well, they were telling me to take my ears off. The shoulder restraints raised up, and knocked my ears off never to be seen again. I felt a little stupid and that may be why I never tried to get them back from lost and found. Plus I thought they might be kind of dirty. Oh well, you live, you learn. RIP ears.

We stopped for some PP outside RNR.

Rock n roll!
38633356596_95ace7f53d_c.jpg

Aaron and Shebl headed out of the park to rest a little. Shebl was feeling really full from lunch, and Aaron just still wasn't 100%. Allie and I explored some shops, I wanted to buy all the Her Universe Star Wars stuff.
39306550584_93a600171d_c.jpg

We also caught the First Order march again.
39306439744_06bd8d4f15_c.jpg

Once they passed by, I joined the March. Even though I'd NEVER be a bad guy.
39307184864_fb17ff6780_c.jpg

We marched our way back to my dad who was resting on the wall by RNR, babysitting the Porg.
39984354312_6f1d4b19e7_c.jpg

We redeemed our FPs for a ride through the Twilight Zone. The Porg accidentally caught a little air on the drop. Oops.
38633354766_445cc5c25d_c.jpg

Hollywood Studios just looked so fantastic decked out for Christmas!
39306546774_ba83169c0b_c.jpg

We were on our way to One Man's Dream because I really wanted to meet Star Lord and baby Groot. There was literally nobody in line, but it quickly filled up behind us.

Baby Groot was SO cute and interactive, and Star Lord was ok. I asked him for a hug and he obliged. Star Lord looks different in person, but I'll hug a superhero any day.
37801631955_2f1a2cfe75_c.jpg

37801630305_cdc1cdc3f7_c.jpg

We took some time to look through the exhibits before leaving for Baseline Taphouse. I, for one, am very excited for Toy Story Land. The coaster looks really cute, the saucer ride is the same ride as Mater's Junkyard Jamboree which is one of my FAVORITE rides at Disneyland, and the land itself reminds me of A Bug's Land which I also happen to love.
39117936475_faa54409ae_c.jpg

And then it was time for beer!
39984351132_55c509e651_c.jpg

This was our first time in Baseline Taphouse and I was quick to catch the nod to Writer's Stop inside.
39306437484_0360ea41ae_c.jpg

We all opted for flights - and the bartenders in here are fabulous. I enjoyed all my beers, and so did Allie and Dad!
39306546134_949ff9313e_c.jpg

Once our flights were finished we walked toward Star Tours for our final FP. We had been on a mission to find all the CM Stitch's around the park. I think there's something like 6? This Stitch was at Indiana Jones gift shop.
24684726418_5ddc563e24_c.jpg

We also stopped for some PP in the Muppets Courtyard. I had never really seen a PP person here before.. and it really isn't the most interesting location.

26143210308_430761a402_c.jpg

We eventually made it to Star Tours. I was REALLY hoping that I'd be selected for the Rebel Spy with my R2 dress and Porg. We got the droid scene, Kashyyk, and Boba Fett, but I was not selected as the Rebel Spy. Maybe someday.

I was pretty over my dress at this point, and ready to change, but FIRST speeder bike pictures! I'm gonna be real honest, I'd probably be a terrible speeder bike driver.

OBVIOUSLY, the Porg had to get a picture of his own.

We went to the front of the park so I could change my clothes, and there was a really beautiful sunset going on, so here's a lot of pictures.

Day 9 - November 8th - DHS at night!

Allie and I caught a PP person and got some of my favorite pics of the trip!

It was time for more beer and a snack at Baseline Taphouse. We had sat inside the first time, but now the weather was so wonderful we sat outside. Important to note that they don't let you bring real glasses outside. Doesn't really matter to me but my dad really prefers beer in a real glass. The Porg and I aren't that picky.
39118020745_231be37638_c.jpg

We were a little hungry so we ordered the pretzel. It was pretty good - especially with the beer cheese dip.

Allie took this cool picture with her fancy new iPhone
39660949444_3d1d83248a_c.jpg

We finished our beers, and the pretzel, and ordered a beer for the road. I had a hankering to ride Tower of Terror again! The new projection lighting is pretty cool.

Just Porgin'
24816875508_03bf02aae8_c.jpg

Allie and I got back in line, and this time had a short wait. You'll never know the amazing face I made because the person in front of me rudely had to throw their arms up. It doesn't enhance the ride!!!!
38633355026_3d8bffd414_c.jpg

Aaron and Shelby had arrived back in the park at this point, and we all went to grab drinks before heading into the amphitheater.

Don't you mean Pixar Pier?
39117911115_c9cbfa4602_c.jpg

I got a vodka cranberry and then we found our seats for Fantasmic. I think we were a little early because we needed more drinks before the show began. The Porg helped save our places. The lady next to him patted him on the head.
40015794761_b8c69a1b95_c.jpg

Fantasmic began and I was very excited. This is maybe my favorite nighttime show (especially Disneyland's) and the music never fails to make me smile.
26143367548_95053ef6a1_c.jpg

When there was fire burning on the water, I looked over at Shebl and she was absolutely open-mouthed, in awe. I was just a little too slow taking the picture, but it's pretty good nonetheless.
25146127457_a8399b112f_c.jpg

My camera struggled the most taking pictures of Fantasmic, which makes sense. A lot of it is pretty dark, far away, and fast paced. But I did get a few ok pictures!
26143375078_53571db481_c.jpg

28237180519_ac157e3972_c.jpg

It was super exciting to see Moana!
39306433354_c649257819_c.jpg

Love her! I think they should add a segment with her boat sailing across. That'd be amazing.

25146119227_5f8b5cb01c_c.jpg

They had the backstage exit open after Fantasmic. I'd never been through that, but they were doing previews of the Tower projection show. We had a short wait for a bus, but we got seats on the first bus. Once back at the hotel I split some chicken nuggets - you all know what they look like. We also got an order of zebra domes. I'm still of the opinion that they're overrated. But the cake bottom is delicious.

Day 10 - November 9th - Animal Kingdom

This day was another day planned for Animal Kingdom. In the planning stages my friend Lacey and I realized that we had booked pretty much the exact same FPs at the exact same time, so we decided to try and ride Safari together. Lacey was planning for and corralling about 8 people altogether, including a baby! Unfortunately my group got to kind of a slow start. Dad, Allie and I left before Aaron and Shebl, but I realized I left my phone in the room so I had to run back and we just missed a bus. When we did make it to Animal Kingdom the bag check lines were insanely long, and it just seemed to take FOREVER. Since it had taken us such a long time, Lacey's group went ahead and rode - their FP time was a bit earlier than ours. It was a bummer, but it was my fault in the end.

Once we knew we weren't going make it in time to meet Lacey, we walked at a more leisurely pace to Safari.
26143329518_b113ff4334_c.jpg

We saw a random macaw screaming its head off at the top of a tree. I knew they had a flight of the macaws, but I didn't realize they just free roamed the park!
26143370488_72e0f0f60a_c.jpg

Finally made it to Africa, looks a bit crowded.
40016545871_27177aa19c_c.jpg

The theming here is second to none.

Harambe is so fun to say
28237825769_09d7950f68_c.jpg

Allie and I decided to do the yeti, and somehow it synced up with this magic shot of Simba's long lost child with tragic hair.

38633673516_96349b4f22_c.jpg

When we got in the FP line for Safari I noticed Aaron and Shebl just a few people back so we joined them. I don't know how they caught up to us. On our previous safari ride they had seated us 3 & 2, this time they stuffed all 5 of us in a row. It was definitely a more busy day.
38633673516_96349b4f22_c.jpg

26144078378_5bdbee585a_c.jpg

The painted dogs were awake and playing!
26143366578_ddf2aa9f64_c.jpg

We got stuck on the savannah for quite a while because a giraffe stopped in the road and just stared down the truck in front of us
39118788585_33ab206234_c.jpg

The other giraffe was like "C'mon, George, get out of the road!"
26143403388_72e3297731_c.jpg

Right as the truck arrived with treats to lure the giraffe out of the road, the giraffe decided to move on its own and we were on our way!

The elephants were pretty close for once!
39985222862_0935d84cd6_c.jpg

And we got to see the wee cute baby! Look at the grass on its head!
40016551521_1fcbf6ac64_c.jpg

I got a good picture of the cheetahs, but they weren't close or very visible.
40016550131_2b803b9dce_c.jpg

The scary ostriches were super close to the vehicles. Do not like these dinosaur birds.

The lions weren't visible at all, so I was bummed.

I'll continue in the next post with some lunch!

Day 10 - November 9th - Animal Kingdom, part 2!

After Safaris our next FP was for Expedition Everest, so we adventured in that direction. We stopped at the newish Harambe Market. None of the food sounds very exciting to me, but the area is very impressively themed.

It's a very photogenic mountain, ok?
25145260027_b63350409c_c.jpg

Once I had taken a million pictures of the mountain, we hopped in the FP line. There's more of the magic band interactive elements. It got Shebl again, and this is great because Shebl is all about tea!
39984432612_83f5acc48b_c.jpg

This time we either waited for the front or just happened to get it. Either way, I knew Shebl had to experience it! Judging by her face, I think it got the desired effect :rotfl:
38690080161_8ca390ce9a_c.jpg

Escaping the yeti caused us to work up an appetite so we decided it was time for lunch. We went to Yak & Yeti, used our Landry's card and were quickly seated in the upstairs center area. It was kind of a boring area, honestly.
26143250608_25173ef51d_c.jpg

I decided to branch out and try something new. I usually order the chicken lo mein, but the seafood mac and cheese sounded intriguing.
26143246468_6857e67576_c.jpg

Sriracha Seafood Mac & Cheese - Shrimp, scallops, havarti cheese and sriracha sauce, topped with toasted parmesan panic breadcrumbs

I don't know what panic breadcrumbs are, but they tasted like ordinary breadcrumbs to me. This dish was good, but also kind of one-note. I got a little bored, and regretted not getting my regular dish. Everyone else was very satisfied with their meals, though.

Of course I had to order dessert, and there was only one thing on my mind.
26143242558_ca0e4ce33e_c.jpg

Fried Wontons -
Skewers of fresh pineapple and cream cheese wontons, vanilla ice cream, honey-vanilla drizzle

If you haven't tried the fried wontons yet, what are you waiting for? They live up to the hype and then some!

To be continued with more adventures in Animal Kingdom!

Day 10 - November 9th - Animal Kingdom, part 3!

I'm not working today (or doing anything else cause it's rainy and gross) so I think I'll just keep going with this report. Only 15 days until my next trip!

After lunch we had a little bit of time to kill before our next FP so we ended up at Flights of Wonder - my first time seeing this show! First we admired this tree outside Yak & Yeti. We noticed that there's concrete roots over the rocks that the tree has now grown over. We were wondering what the tree looked like when the park opened!
28237084459_ce082e7c2d_c.jpg

I was very glad we got the opportunity to watch this show since it's currently closed for retheming. I don't remember the names of the birds, but I know this is an owl.

26143196868_9fe982e17b_c.jpg

This is a bald eagle. You're welcome. I like it because they just bring it out and it stares out at the crowd and that's it. Too regal to do silly tricks.
25146123207_e23c02e415_c.jpg

25146114307_ce81aec4fc_c.jpg

This little owl looks very concerned.
26143165198_6f58f27968_c.jpg

Toucan!
25146128037_0a77aaf14f_c.jpg

26143404148_211155b52c_c.jpg

When the show ended we got the opportunity to watch them try to train a new toucan (might be the one above). The toucan is supposed to fly from perch to perch, but it didn't work very well. It got startled by the macaws flying overhead, and eventually they just had to give up. Though they said it was still useful training - gets the bird used to unexpected events.

We still had time before our FOP FP, so we ended up exploring the Tree of Life trails.

40016552861_96d9f9c8e1_c.jpg

39306494384_6362f6a9f2_c.jpg

Along the trails we found a turtle doing a sploot (it's a thing corgis do a lot).
39306613744_e0cf35c59f_c.jpg

Also found some porcupines.
39985231822_486fc773d5_c.jpg

After fully exploring the trails we made our way to Pandora via Africa.
39307189774_b012a02f90_c.jpg

Love the fog along the river. Has anyone noticed how LOUD the bug sounds are along this area?

26144072708_7e20cdff9e_c.jpg

Remember the tree in front of Yak & Yeti? We found a little one in Pandora, and you can see the concrete roots that the tree will eventually grow over. It'll be fun to watch this tree grow!
26143180988_cafa2e43db_c.jpg

Really can't say enough just how impressed I am with this land. It's almost enough to make me interested in the movies. Almost. I do wish there was a little more to do, but that's ok.
39117915665_0081c1b373_c.jpg

I pointed out some naturally flavored popsicles to Shebl (I think they're specific to Pandora, but I could be wrong) and she had to get one.

Apparently I took a lot of pictures in Pandora, so I'll continue in the next post!

Day 10 - November 9th - Animal Kingdom, part 4!

So we were just exploring Pandora, waiting for our FOP time. I found a PP and had to force Dad to take a picture with me since no one else would.
38657530022_588d1204bf_c.jpg

26143325088_04e5385c9f_c.jpg

We then got into the FOP FP queue.
26143158078_e94f00c840_c.jpg

39306492834_35069cd2c4_c.jpg

This time we had a MUCH longer wait in the FP line, and the preshow guy is SUPER annoying past the first viewing. But the ride is so spectacular. SIVAKO!

I grabbed us a FP for Festival of the Lion King for the next showing, so we made our way there.
39984392392_cdaafba80e_c.jpg

We ended up in the elephant section, right next to Simba!
39984356762_20d752d8be_c.jpg

It was an exceptionally great show. One of the stilt walkers taught me how to hand jive, and scoffed at Timon's bad jokes with me. And then I got a high five from a tumble monkey!

Since we were close we wanted to check out Rafiki's Planet Watch, but we were a couple minutes late since the last train left at 4:30. We then tried to walk through Maharajah Jungle Trek but were 8 minutes too late for that - it had closed at 4:45. This was suuuuper frustrating, and there was some disagreement about what we should do next - Allie was requesting another ride on Dinosaur which seemed reasonable. While I was refreshing for a FP I found one for FOP at 6 pm for all 5 of us! I was super excited, but Aaron was not, said he didn't want to ride which felt like him just being contrary because he had raved about the ride and wanting to ride it again. So I got upset and left everyone - you know how brothers and sisters fight! In the end I met up with Dad and Allie again, while Shebl and Aaron did their own thing.

After all the frustration and high tempers I thought a beer sounded perfect to help reset. I don't remember anything about the beer, but it was very much needed.
39118137595_d3edddf18b_c.jpg

Key West Sunset Ale Draft

Loved this Queen!
26143371248_8a77e25be2_c.jpg

Allie, Dad and I hopped in standby for Dinosaur. Pre-shows are so irritating!
38633664656_1e03d5bdc8_c.jpg

When we got off Dinosaur it was time for our FOP FP. We ended up in a higher row this time. The higher row caught my stomach more, which I love, but something to think about if you get motion sickness. We entered the FP line at 6:24 and were off by 6:55, so not too bad!

We headed out of Animal Kingdom to catch a bus to the Polynesian to reunite with Aaron and Shebl. Our first stop in the Polynesian was Tambu Lounge for some Ohana bread pudding. It's great that I can still get this even when Ohana doesn't fit into the plans!
39306491594_03990768c4_c.jpg

We then went downstairs to Trader Sam's. We had a short wait for a table.
28237071639_ec9fc90e8e_c.jpg

I ordered the Hippopotomatai. I'm generally not too terribly picky about alcohol but I hated this. Even when I don't necessarily care for something I'll finish it, but I just couldn't finish this. It was sickly sweet and just bad. I'd offer a description but Stitch keeps eating the Disney page.
39117975955_ce1f86980b_c.jpg

The atmosphere in this Trader Sam's was maybe a little more fun than Disneyland's. The cast wasn't as interactive at Disneyland, and the cast here really got into their roles and seemed to love their jobs.

One drink was enough for us and we headed out of the Poly, I believe we got a Minnie van. Dad really liked using them!
39117974825_2bf73b0eb6_c.jpg

For the rest of the night we just relaxed at the resort!

To be continued, Day 11 at Epcot!

Oh no I'm sorry about your ears! RIP!

Adorable pic of your dad babysitting the porg!

Lots of cute PP pics and those sunset photos are unreal!

Sounds like a fun day at AK! You got some great pics on the safari, in the trails, and in Pandora!

SO awesome scoring another FP for FoP! I'm sorry it caused a little tiff with your brother but glad you got to ride it again!

SO awesome scoring another FP for FoP! I'm sorry it caused a little tiff with your brother but glad you got to ride it again!

Thank you for your condolences over my ears :rotfl:I felt so stupid that I let that happen!

The sunset was sooooo pretty, especially with the Christmas decorations!

The fight blew over quickly with my brother and I got to enjoy the ride! Some people just don't realize how special it is to get that extra FP haha

Day 11 - November 10th - Epcot!

After a good night's rest and recharge we left AKL around 10 for Epcot. The weather for today looked cool and cloudy, which was a welcome break. Shebl had seen the treats in Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie the other day and had her heart set on a croissant.
40325859082_7b3bbf3283_c.jpg

It's a pretty long trek from the front of the park to France! I don't remember where Aaron and Dad were, but it was just us girls that made our way to France
40325858112_81933b4a95_c.jpg

But we made it!

I had never really taken the time to look around inside Les Halles before because it always seems so crowded and chaotic. We were there before World Showcase was fully open so it was a little less crowded than usual. Everything inside the cases looked really delicious.

We purchased our items and easily found a table. I just ordered a chocolate croissant. I didn't want to be too full because I was counting on Sunshine Seasons for lunch.
40371500121_01bbc44aaf_c.jpg

Allie got the one in the back, and Shebl got the one in front. They really liked them both, but I think Allie's was the winner.
40371499091_1f0d7f1569_c.jpg

I found a Remy! I assume this was France, but they're so zoomed in it's hard for me to really know.
25499087537_dd57797bcc_c.jpg

I think we met up with Dad and Aaron in England and then headed back to The Land. Maybe the Imagination Pavilion could use a new color scheme.

We used our FPs to ride Soarin' front row, center. The film is much better that way, but I still don't like it as much as Soarin' over California.

After Soarin' we used our last FP at Living With The Land. I'm kind of surprised, but I didn't take any pictures! I guess it was exactly the same as the previous rides on it, but that doesn't usually stop me.

I booked us a FP at 12:55 for Finding Nemo, which ended up being necessary since the line was 30 minutes. It seems they don't maintain this ride very well...
40325861202_f533765742_c.jpg

We explored The Seas for a while, Aaron and Shebl left before us for their couples massage at the Grand Floridian! I love watching the manatees!
40371494121_0975e93e26_c.jpg

Allie loves watching the dolphins. I left and explored all the other exhibits, and returned to find her in this exact spot.

Eels are so gross, far worse than snakes.

I think Dad went off to enjoy the F&W booths a little, while Allie and I returned to The Land for lunch.

We found a PP at the Finding Nemo statues.

Sunshine Seasons had this really adorable cupcake

I decided to get the fish tacos. I usually get the turkey sandwich, but this was a good choice. The fish was really fresh and flavorful, and I loved the crunch from the cabbage.

Journey into Imagination is... weird. I don't remember the previous version of the ride, so I also really don't understand the love for Figment. The whole pavilion is kind of sad. The ride wasn't a total bust though, because I was able to book a FP for Frozen Ever After at 5:20 pm!

To be continued with your personal healthcare assistant!

Day 11 - November 10th - Epcot, part 2!

After Journey Into Imagination I wanted to meet Baymax. The wait was pretty short and then we were fist bumping!

I really like how awkward I look in this.
37801873015_2094d3f06e_c.jpg

We had great conversations with Baymax since I'm a nurse. We had a lot in common! Like I ask people constantly, "on a scale from 1-10, how would you rate your pain?" It's always a 10.

Allie got an extra hug from Baymax and I was clearly jealous.

What are we looking at?

After Baymax Allie and I decided to visit the Festival Center, but first I needed coffee. Usually I do Starbucks but Joffrey's was more convenient. I believe this is an iced mocha - it was pretty tasty!

I'm really glad that they just restored the exterior of the Festival Center building cause it was looking pretty rough.

I hope it never loses its 80s/90s mall vibe interiors though
39474423815_108798544b_c.jpg

We were hoping to find souvenirs in the Festival Center, but I think we both left empty handed. There were some good discounts, though.

Dad was ready to meet up at the Rose & Crown so we made our way toward the World Showcase
38633611246_4a85c0a5a4_c.jpg

There was a line at the Rose & Crown - definitely a much busier day, but I expected that since it was the last weekend of Food & Wine. While waiting in the line I found Remy!

25499153107_21dccf7beb_c.jpg

We didn't have to wait long before they let us inside. They had removed all the tables from the pub, and were only serving beer in plastic cups to Dad's displeasure. I ordered the Golden Fox which is half Boddingtons and half Bass Ale. It was super smooth and yummy.

40371571991_778d55f324_c.jpg

Beers finished, Dad decided to head back to the room to change into warmer clothes and maybe have a beer at the pool bar. Allie and I decided to continue on our tour around the world.
40371526131_e5da7ec8aa_c.jpg

We sped pretty quickly through the countries.
40371515611_217d26758b_c.jpg

Spotted another Remy - maybe Morocco?
39660351444_ff7b79883c_c.jpg

We stopped for a restroom break and snacks in America. We ended up ordering at separate registers - or we didn't realize that the other was going to order. Anyway we both ordered the same beer, and I ordered an extra for Allie because I didn't know she was buying one. I also got the carrot cake because Dad said it was really good - and he's not a dessert person. The carrot cake was maybe the best carrot cake I've ever had. Super moist, and the icing was a perfect complement. The beer was a little strange - you'd never guess it was a coffee beer by its color, but it definitely had a coffee taste.

I found another Remy from a mystery country. America? Who knows.

Allie wanted a snack now. Not sure what this is, but she seemed to enjoy it!
25499144997_bc91f1bd34_c.jpg

I also got a snack from India.

Korma chicken - served with cucumber tomato salad, almonds, cashews and warm naan bread

The dish wasn't the freshest, but I enjoyed the contrast of the spicy chicken with the cool cucumber salad. Not as good as Sanaa, though.

Another Remy!
25499150907_9f73ab5cb5_c.jpg

We arrived at Norway (maybe that's where that last Remy is from?) and hopped in line for our Frozen Ever After FP. The line went quickly, but we ended up with a really annoying man who was openly mocking the ride the whole time. It's cool if it's not your thing but how about you don't ruin the ride for others? I may or may not have told him to stop talking :rolleyes1 Anyway, that's why I look so annoyed in the photo.

We walked right on past Mexico and got the vegan Greek nachos, and some beer that I didn't record.

Loaded Greek nachos - pita chips, meatless sausage crumbles, and vegan tzatziki

I wasn't a fan of the nachos - there were bites here and there that I liked, but meatless sausage is just as unpalatable to me as real sausage. We ate our treats in that little craft beer center. And got another beer.
25499144287_cc02f16f4d_c.jpg

After that we power walked through the heavy crowds back to the International Gateway. Maybe it hadn't been our smartest idea to go all the way past Mexico only to turn around, but it was fun.

To be continued - a birthday treat!

I want to keep posting, but there's already a ton of pictures on this page, so I'll just update a little about upcoming trips. My birthday trip is in 2 weeks! I'm really excited to just relax and take a different, less scheduled approach to this trip. It's also the shortest Disney World trip I've ever been on at only 5 full days. It'll be a change, but I think it'll be ok since I just went in November (for a long time), and we're going again in June.

Also, Dad bought plane tickets for our June trip today. Just waiting on hotel deals to be released. And hopefully some AP previews of Toy Story Land. Can't believe we miss the opening by 2 days. I really thought it'd be about a month old by the time we visited. Anyway, we'll see how it goes!

Day 11 - November 10th - Illuminations Cruise!

Well, I tried to get to the next page, but I think I need 4 more posts, and that's a bit much so sorry to your browsers! I've gotta finish this report.

So Allie and I made it to the International Gateway - she bought some wine glasses at the gift shop there. We were on our way to the Yacht Club to meet up with my family.

The Boardwalk was along the way, so there was a stop I had to make...
40325921282_a9e767dbc3_c.jpg

Yup, I definitely needed more ice cream!
40371519521_4662dbe543_c.jpg

This time I ordered just the Baked/Unbaked in a cup and it was perfect.
40325920582_c4a68b97da_c.jpg

We continued to the Yacht Club and met up with everyone at the Ale & Compass Lounge. It was cold so I kept Shebl warm with my blanket-like scarf.
39474948615_2d393dc195_c.jpg

Once they had finished their drinks we headed out to the marina to see where we should meet for our Illuminations cruise. Illuminations wasn't until 10 on this night.

39660343544_0c56e1c813_c.jpg

We grabbed some drinks at the pool bar first, as is suggested. Also used the bathroom - over an hour on a boat with no bathroom!

This cruise was booked as a celebration of Dad's retirement (which didn't end up happening) and his upcoming birthday on the 19th. When I had called to confirm our cruise they asked if we were celebrating anything and I told them about his birthday, so this is our pontoon, all decked out for his birthday! So thoughtful!
25499160287_c485efe69e_c.jpg

We left the docks around 9 (if I recall correctly) with our driver Travis. He was young, and really fun to talk to. We had great conversations about all the Disney parks - he was just so friendly and wonderful! I tried to take a good picture of Shebl and Aaron on the boat, but kind of failed.
25499148587_4115e901a9_c.jpg

We drove around the water for a while, taking in the views, enjoying the ride. Our boat was stocked with soft drinks and water, and snacks - bags of chips, and cookies/brownies. Of course we brought our drinks, but I promptly spilled mine and Allie's. They were in the cup holder on the seat and I leaned forward to grab something, and the seat tilted forward with me. I felt really bad for making a mess, and wasting our money, but Travis was really nice about it. Oh, the boat also had lots of blankets onboard, so even though it was probably the coldest night of the vacation, we felt pretty cozy.

You can see the basket of snacks in this picture!
25499154627_691830d20c_c.jpg

We drove around all the waterways for a while before making our way to the bridge by the International Gateway, where we anchored. It was really fun to be there with all the people around waiting for Illuminations wondering how we were in the boats. The spot has a really great view, and it's right next to a speaker so you don't miss any of the sounds either. Illuminations isn't my favorite, I find it a bit dull, but this was a really great experience!

When Illuminations ended Travis brought us back to the Yacht Club and we thanked him profusely for a wonderful night. He told us to take any snacks or beverages we wanted. The boat next to us took everything! Even though the park would be closed, you should still be able to walk back through Epcot to the parking lot if you needed to. We took a Minnie Van from the Yacht Club, though!
25499157977_bf916744ce_c.jpg

The Illuminations Cruise was a really fun, unique experience and I'm so glad we did it. It isn't inexpensive so it won't become a must-do, but I wouldn't mind doing it again someday!

Next up - last full day at Magic Kingdom!

Your day at Epcot sounds so fun! I love all your pics with Baymax! And the Illuminations cruise sounds like it was a nice treat! So sweet that they decorated the boat for your dad.

That Epcot day was probably one of my favorites of the vacation - and it was SOO sweet of them to decorate the boat for Dad!
