First time DVC reservation.

Earlier today, I booked my first DVC reservation for Thanksgiving week. In the past I have always used a Disney Travel Specialist for all my needs. My question is what would be the best procedure to purchase my tickets and when would be the best time to purchase and link to my reservation.

It depends on how many days you are going for. Currently DVC is running a promo until the end of the month for an annual pass $485. We are going for 7 days in sept and the AP came out cheaper then a regular park hopper ticket for us. We are also heading back in Jan and the pass will cover that as well.

Congrats on your first reservations!

If you want to book FP+, you'll want to order UT tickets by late summer. FP+ starts at 60 days. UT takes a few weeks using the cheapest shipping.

Undercover Tourist with MouseSaver discount will save significant dollars. I purchased 2 - 4 day Park Hopper Passes and I saved close to $100.

The MouseSaver discount is available from monthly Mousesaver newsletter.

I used UT for our tickets this trip and four adult park hopper and one child park hopper was almost 200 dollars cheaper than booking directly through Disney.

Thanks for the suggestions, after discussing the options with my family GB and TB, they both want to follow up the Nov., 2014 trip with another trip summer of 2015. The annual pass is the direction that I will go at this time.
