Financial Responsibility is Overrated! ~ A May 2018 PTR

Good Luck on the end of year stuff!! Hope all goes well and you can just not think about it on your trip. I'm so excited for you. I'm sad I can't be there. I really want to cancel my flight and go to Disney instead but then I'd be a bad in-law, right? LOL. It's ok though, We've decided we didn't want to start our APs right now, so we're going use them starting in Sept for our labor day trip. Maybe I'll swing down for a weekend in October if it doesn't coincide with Comic Con.
Good ADR choices combined with Quick services. I still am tweaking and tinkering with mine. I can't stop!
Morimoto's is great! I hope you enjoy it!

I hear you on the carbs. After my year of Disney was over I realized how much weight I put on last year. Ugh, I really want to lose it before Sept!
Yay for Magic Bands! Gonna have to live vicariously through you when you post pics!

I LOVE this! I should meme it!
You should def meme it! :thumbsup2

YAY! You're going to love it. (The booze is great!)
:drinking1:thumbsup2

25 days until WDW! :hyper:

Is it just me or are Disney spreadsheets just about the best thing ever?! Sometimes I pull mine up just for an upper

Speaking of carbs, I did a thing. I told myself I wasn't going to do the thing this time, and that I was just going to go with the flow and not plan the thing out this time. But then when I started this PTR, some requests were made for the thing, so the thing was done. You're welcome!
O.M.G. I am SO planning to do this!!! I have for all my festival trips... ya gotta be prepared, right?!

I want to go ahead and pick-up my Annual Pass (that way I don't have to stand in a ticket window line at Magic Kingdom the next morning)
Good idea! I did the whole wait-in-line-at-MK in August and... I just wanted to get in the park already!

Since I'm there anyhow, I might as well have dinner, right?
::yes::

But it's still exciting to know that it's here! Because when the MagicBand arrives, that means it's almost DISNEY time!
YES!!!!!!!!!!

Wish me luck with all this end-of-the-semester stuff, ya'll!
Good luck, Billie! May the force be with you! :thumbsup2

These first two are from your earlier update (which I quoted and never replied to...)

I've also made some updates to my itinerary since my last update here, and added a dinner reservation. I also promised @LindseyJo22 a trip down memory lane regarding one of my dining experiences from October 2016. I'll talk about all that in the next post, though! (Whenever that may be...)

Did this story get told? Also, so excited about Disney Food!!!! We are only 10 days behind you, so I'm getting crazy excited :D

As previously mentioned, I'm currently doing 8 nights of pet sitting for 3 precious doggos. All of them are rescues, and all chihuahuas or chi-mixes. And one of them is ONLY THREE MONTHS OLD. She's for real the cutest thing I've ever seen. So, I will leave you tonight with cute doggo and pupper pics. Enjoy!

So nice! I love all the pictures from your pet-sitting, and I'm glad that it seems to be going so well for you, even if it does mean you're insanely busy!

It's the end of the semester, so of course that means all the big final papers/projects/exams are coming due. In fact, I really should be working on an essay for my English class right now instead of writing this, yet here I am.

Yep. I should be grading all the final projects, etc. But nope - I'm on the Dis and planning on updating my own failed PTR :P

So let's see. The last time I was here, it was on FastPass Eve. I recall having all these big plans of regaling you all with a tale of a morning filled with technical glitches and last minutes changes. However, that was over a month ago now and I don't even remember what all happened. Whoops. There's been a few changes since then too, so I'll just show ya'll how my touring plans stand as of the last time I updated them (about 5 days ago):

Woo hoo! And honestly, FOP is probably fine - I had a bit of a saga getting that for us, and it would be kind of nice not to worry about it! We're hoping to ride it at least once at Moonlight Magic, but it depends on how many other people have the same idea :P

Speaking of carbs, I did a thing. I told myself I wasn't going to do the thing this time, and that I was just going to go with the flow and not plan the thing out this time. But then when I started this PTR, some requests were made for the thing, so the thing was done. You're welcome!

Oooh! I need to do this for us - we did a sort of weird card thing last time with Food & Wine, where this website shows you two cards and you pick which one you like better. It really helped us narrow down our choices! Though with Flower and Garden we've gone quite a few times, and there aren't as many booths or new dishes, so I have a better idea about what I want to privilege. But now I have an idea for another PTR post (if I ever post it)...

However, I want to go ahead and pick-up my Annual Pass (that way I don't have to stand in a ticket window line at Magic Kingdom the next morning), so I'll just pop on over to Disney Springs to get that taken care of. Since I'm there anyhow, I might as well have dinner, right? This was one place that I had booked for my October 2016 trip, but ended up cancelling at the last minute. So I'm excited to finally cross it off of my bucket list!

Yes! Great plan :D The ticket window at Disney Springs has seemed long to us in the past, but we've usually regretted not doing our AP activation there when we were standing in stupid lines at the ticket windows. The only time this didn't happen was when we got our original APs, because no one goes to the ticket window at the International Gateway :P

I am so excited about your trip! I know you're probably too busy to get a TR going, but I'll be facebook stalking you like crazy (maybe even more than usual) since your trip and ours are so close! Hate that we couldn't make it work to meet up, but hopefully some day :D

Plans look good!

I moved quite a few things around, but I'm mostly happy with the end result. I decided to just completely pass on Flight of Passage all together. My weightloss efforts haven't been going so well, and now I'm about 45 lbs heavier than I was last year when I just barely fit on it. So I'm not even going to waste my time (or dignity) on it right now. Maybe by my October trip, I'll be able to get some weight back off again. Orrrrrrr maybe I'll just continue to eat all the things. Because carbs are delicious.

I get this for sure. I'm kinda in a similar place right now (although I'll be fine on the rides, I'm just heavier than I usually am because eating all the foods > not eating all the foods).
I actually bought myself a smart scale that syncs over wifi so that I can't lie to myself about my weight ... but even the smart scale doesn't stop me from not caring about my weight going up and just eating all the things because I can.
Food is yummy.

Speaking of carbs, I did a thing. I told myself I wasn't going to do the thing this time, and that I was just going to go with the flow and not plan the thing out this time. But then when I started this PTR, some requests were made for the thing, so the thing was done. You're welcome!

Going with the flow is overrated anyway. Lots of yummy looking stuff on that wishlist!

(I don't think there will be anymore changes in the next 3.5 weeks, but knowing me, anything is possible.)

Let's face it ... there will for sure be changes. For sure. But things look good as they are - I like that you're starting the magic early with a (hopefully) yummy ADR!

Oh! And I forgot to mention. My mom let me know this afternoon that my MagicBand arrived today! (I always have packages and anything important sent to her house because she's retired and home all day, and I live in an apartment where I don't love the idea of things being left on my doorstep.) My schedule is so jam-packed that I won't be able to make it over to her house to pick it up until Thursday afternoon. But it's still exciting to know that it's here! Because when the MagicBand arrives, that means it's almost DISNEY time! Which is just...

Yay MagicBand!!! (I have to figure out what color I want for my next trip ... although it's pretty far away so I have time to decide)

Wish me luck with all this end-of-the-semester stuff, ya'll! I'll do my best to get back here at least once before the actual trip, hopefully more!

Good luck!!

A May 2018 Pre-Trip Report

skrrrrrtt2.jpg

Hey, ya'll! So, it's WELL-established at this point that I have literally zero time for the DIS these days. However! I miss all of you, and I miss writing and sharing here. So, while I make no promises regarding the frequency of updates here or the consistency of personal replies, I can promise to try my best and to HAVE FUN with it! I certainly hope you'll join me! :P

So that being said, I must ask: Do you personally enjoy, or are at least amused by, any of the following?
  • Obsessive Disney planning that borders on psychologically-questionable
  • Food, glorious food
  • Being a princess and wearing tiaras
  • Off-color humor
  • Rising up against the tyranny that is the social convention of wearing pants
  • Sarcastic commentary
  • Food. Like, lots and lots of food.
  • Spreadsheets... Maaaany many spreadsheets
  • Photos of adorable cats
  • Day Drinking
  • Animated gifs used in hilarious and inventive ways
  • Having ZERO craps to give sometimes
  • Retail therapy
  • Wait, did I mention food?
If you just answered YES! to any of the above questions, then you my friend, are in the right place! :goodvibes I do hope you'll join me, and keep me company as I while away the months, weeks, days, and hours until my next escape to Walt Disney World!

THE DETAILS:

Who: Me, Myself, and I! Rollin' out for my 5th solo adventure!
What: My 15th visit to Walt Disney World, to celebrate the successful completion of my first year back in college.
When: May 6-11, 2018
Where: Disney's Boardwalk Inn
Why: Because adulting sucks, and who really needs financial stability anyhow?

THE CAST:

yarr.png

ME: Billie, 37 years old :cutie:
~ WDW is a huge part of my life. I'm an Annual Pass Holder, and a former Disney Destinations-certified travel agent. I live in South Carolina, a mere 5-hour drive from WDW, which makes it WAY too easy to just ditch adulting and responsibilities and stuff, and run away to act like an overgrown toddler 2-3 times a year. I am a single gal (bordering on old cat lady status), but I don't let that hold me back from going "home" and enjoying the one place on the whole planet where I feel truly content and in my element... DISNEY WORLD! :hyper:

I work full-time as an Administrative Specialist for a behavioral health facility, and part-time at my pet sitting business, Precious Paws Pet Care. I also volunteer weekly with my local county animal shelter's cat adoption center, the Tabby House. Additionally, last year I started college at the ripe old age of 36 years old, and at 10 credit hours, I'm carrying almost a full-time load. Needless to say, I'm a BUSY girl. As such, my WDW escapades are very much needed!

Favorite Character: Minnie Mouse
Favorite Movie: Beauty and the Beast / Tangled
Favorite Princess: Belle
Favorite Song: Someday My Prince Will Come / I See The Light
Favorite Park: Dead tie between Magic Kingdom and Epcot
Favorite Ride: I'm incapable of choosing one over all favorite! However, my favorites in each park are Splash Mountain, Soarin', Tower of Terror, and Kilimanjaro Safaris.
Favorite Show: Illuminations, but Happily Ever After is slowly starting to edge it out!
Uh, you had me at food but within the first minute I find out you have your own petsitting business, so we really are kindred! (I have my own petsitting business as well! 14 years strong!)

Ok, I just had to say that, now I'm off to read the rest of your ptr because I think you I'm way behind.

All caught up! I guess it helps me that you slacked on the updates! :rotfl2:

Cutie doggos!.I always post pics of my furry clients and tell people how sorry I am that their job sucks more than mine. :rotfl: your spreadsheets make me jealous. I want some but seem to have a lack of understanding about how to make them. Lack of understanding like dont get it at all, it's like Japanese.

Cant wait to hear about your trip!

Thank you for the flower and garden list! I love seeing what you are excited for bc it usually lines up with my taste as well! Good luck with the end of the semester stuff! Just remember you get Disney after!

Hi Billie!! I'm all caught up. So excited for you that you decided to go back to school. Takes guts and I'm sure you're doing amazing :thumbsup2. Crush those finals :cheer2:

All those little pooches you've been looking after are just the cutest things :lovestruc.

Looking forward to reading all about your trip!

Man, this PTR was sad. I want to DIS so bad but I just don't have time and so I start these things then abandon them. I'm sorry, I love ya'll! :grouphug:

Might try to start a TR for this trip now, so that I can never update it, either. :rolleyes1
This is exactly what my PTR is like, I want so badly to DIS, it was so much fun in the past, but theres just no time! I hope you can find a way to squeeze in a TR!
