Drinks in Vegas - Prices????

I should have added that if you are playing at the tables or machines, drinks are free, just remember to tip your server, or she may not be back. :thumbsup2 $1/drink is common

I think the best deal, is a liqour store. Their are a couple along the strip. Buying a 40oz of beer or those malt beverage energy drinks is the way to go. I also take a cooler with liqour soda and plastic cups to keep in my room. It didn't seem so innovative but some people are really shocked at what a good idea it is when they ask what the cooler is for.

Otherwise I get the really tall drinks, they are probably 12 or 15 but they last an hour. Pay the extra 2 bucks for the extra shots too.

The bars in the casinos as PP said are horrible. I got a rum and coke about 8 years ago in TI for $8.

Yes, if you are purchasing a drink it can be quite expensive unless you are at one of the highly-advertised $1/beer places. If you are playing a machine or table your drinks will be "free" ... just take care of your waitress with $1 per beverage (beer, water, whatever). If you sit at a bar to play their machines, you might want to ask if they have complimentary drinks. Some places will require you to play a certain amount at the machine and then won't charge you. I always ask (even though I risk sounding dorky) before I start playing and/or place an order.

Note: Upon placing your order with the waitress, please get your tip money out! It is very bad Karma to not tip your waitress and she doesn't have all day to stand there while you fish out money! LOL.

The easiest way to drink free in Vegas is to play poker. You can fold your cards all day and still have a cocktail server make their rounds over and over.

But if you're drinking at a restaurant, look out.

Free drinks can cost big $$, depends on how slow the server is! Sitting at a machine playing, waiting on my Beer can cost me $20/$40 - Nothing's FREE in Vegas!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

TI passes out 2-for-1 coupons to their Kahunavilla party bar (or you can find them by surfing the web), and if you go at the right time you can see the competition flair bartenders! With tip, it cost me about $15 with the coupon for two drinks. They started at $8.

I read there is a place at the Luxor, Noir Bar, where the cocktails are like $22 each (very cool recipes, like carrot cake or peanut butter and jelly)!

I also read about the Minus 5 (degrees centigrade) place where they bundle you up and you sit in the ice for half an hour for like $30, and with that you get one vodka cocktail!

Needless to say, we didn't try the fancy places, but it is fun to read about how creative they are. :)

This reminded me of something. I have gotten coupons, checking in, at hotel entrances, and getting off the monorail. Some have been really good. Like $1 beers and lots of 2 for 1s also some for a particular drink. The biggest problem was finding the bar that the coupon was good at.

My suggestions:

1. If you are gambling, flag down a server quickly and tip her well. Tell her to keep the drinks coming and make them double.

2. Hit the liquor store and have a few drinks before you go out, take a "road pop" with you. Not sure if it's legal, but everyone drinks on the street in Vegas.

3. there is a casino across the street from Caesar's Palace (near Harrah's, O'Shea's) that has $1 Michelob. Can't remember the name but they advertise the $1 Michelob's quite prominently.
