Disneyland here we come.

I was able to book a 1 bedroom at VGC for 5 days in February. We are going for my 60th and to see a friend that we haven't seen in 20 years. We have stayed at the GC before, 10 and 15 years ago and are looking forward to another trip to DL

We were just there last month in a 2-bedroom....the proximity to the parks is unbelievable! Such a beautiful resort!

Love that resort! Check in as early as you can. DD and friends checked into their 1 BR late and were given an "equal" (not equal) Jr. suite in the hotel side since the 1 BR had been given away.

Was this at the 7 month mark you were able to score a 1bed? Yay!!! We are hoping to score a 1bed at the 7 month mark when our window opens up in a few weeks. We stayed at the Grand this past Christmas (just a few weeks before we actually became DVC owners), it's a fantastic hotel and the location can't be beat!

Enjoy! The VGC location is amazing and it's so nice to have that extra bathroom. We had a wonderful experience at the Napa Rose Chef's Counter - would make a great birthday dinner!

We are flying in on a Saturday and checking in to VGC early (Before the parks open) on Sunday. We are going to stay just down the street at the Hampton Saturday night and explore Downtown Disney again and get some dinner and buy our tickets (Retired Military). I figure we can get groceries Saturday night since we will only have a few things that need refrigerating.

Two things you might already know, but just in case you don't.
1) You can now buy your military tickets at the hotel; no need to wait in line at one of the booths outside the gates.
2) Though show is better up close, but if you want to see it fairly well and not have to fight the crowds, there's the viewing deck on the 6th floor.

Thanks for the advice. Since we are getting in around noon and staying off site the first night we are looking to walk/bus over to Downtown Disney for some shopping/eating so stopping to get tickets then will not be a problem.

We are going to be there 5 days with 4 days in the parks (In other trips we have found that to be enough) so we will have a non park day to watch from the deck.
