Hello. We are giving staying offsite and renting a house this year. Hoping that the extra space will make up for not being in the disney bubble!:) We are staying in Windsor Hills and are looking for advice on the best grocery stores close to that community. Also...any good pizza delivery ideas would be helpful. Thank you!

I like the Super Target around the corner on 192. The security guard at the front will give you information on pizza delivery places when you arrive (or maybe that was left in the condo). Anyway, we ordered one night but I can't remember the name of the place.

There is a new Super Walmart just up N Old Lake Wilson Rd at 192. About as close as you can get.

Another choice is Publix Supermarket west on 192 right before 429. Right across the street from the Super Target.

There a a number of pizza places near you. Pizza Hut is nearby. We like the Papa John's down N Old Lake Wilson Rd at the intersection of Osceola Polk County Line Rd. There is also a Publix Supermarket at that intersection as well. A bit farther away but might be easier to get in and out of than the one on 192.

The Target at Rolling Oaks is our favorite for groceries. They have a great selection including beer and wine. As another poster mentioned there is a brand new Walmart almost across from WH. The problem there is that it is very popular and seems to always be packed. It's tough to move around the grocery side and find what you need. You also have to dodge the employees restocking because everything is flying off the shelves. The parking lot is packed tight as well..

Unfortunately we have had a difficult time finding decent pizza in the area. There are the usual Papa Johns, Dominos, Pizza Hut but not not any great real pizzerias. The closest thing to that is Flippers which is also in the Rolling Hills plaza near Target.

There’s a Giordano’s two lights down on 192 that has amazing deep dish Chicago style pizza and they deliver to WH.

As far as groceries, we stopped at the new Wal-Mart and it was INSANELY crowded, but it was also Christmas Eve so that may have added to the insanity. They did have a very nice, separate liquor department to the left of the entrance that was calm.

Hope you have a great trip!

Thank you everyone!! Also if anyone has a favorite must do restaurant close to Windsor Hills that's not Disney, we would be very intrested in trying out some new places this year:yay:

We use the Publix and Super Target already mentioned. If you go to these there are plenty of restaurants on the short drive there such as Millers Ale House, Texas Roadhouse, giordanos, Olive Garden, Bahama breeze etc.

If you drive the other way on the 192 (east) you can get to Celebration. We like the Town Tavern and D'Antonios. There is also a small pizza place where you can buy by the slice or whole.

Sweet Tomatoes and Chuy's are a couple we like.

I love Flippers Pizza in the Rolling Oaks Center next to Target. My family will insist to have Flippers for dinner on Check-In day. We also like Bahama Breeze and they are around the area too.

Chuy's - Mexican
Manny's - steakhouse
Columbia - Spanish/Cuban in Celebration

We also recently tried a new place in Davenport called Ovation Bistro on US27. Its a little further of a drive but the food was really fantastic and well worth the drive.

Pull out turn right and go down couple miles, publix right there, Chinese, McDonald's, couple stores quiet area,
If u pull out and turn left go 2 blocks and literally every restaurant is on that street, very busy. Pick yr choice. U may sometimes call security let them know if u have a delivery, it's a gated community.

The Walmart right next to Windsor Hills now does online ordering and pickup -- and you can order anything in the store (e.g., sunscreen, ponchos, beach towels, cooler bags, whatever else you forgot.) It's much easier than going inside!

Does anyone know if pickup times will be later around Easter week for the Walmart near Windsor Hills? Their latest pickup time now is 7-8, but our flight does not get into 7:20.
