Aulani now open Apr 2020?

I just saw the announcement that reservations for Aulani are now open through Apr. 2020. Since this is beyond the DVC 11 month window, does anyone know how getting a DVC reservation will work? Are Aulani owners still locked out until 11 months out or can they access a DVC reservation now? What about those who own at a resort other than Aulani (that are usually locked out until 7 months out)?

I didn't see that announcement, but am assuming it refers to cash booking reservations being open through April 2020. That is a completely separate inventory from DVC rooms. That pool of rooms includes all the regular hotel rooms and any undeclared DVC units (as a % of total points) DVC hasn't sold. Even if those cash rooms were all to be booked up for April 2020 today, the DVC inventory for DVC members still stays un-booked until the 11 month window. DVC does "take back" some of those DVC rooms to account for when Aulani members trade out into things like cruises or Adventures by Disney....but that should represent a small percentage of rooms available at the 11 month window.
