A DLP Birthday Treat!
- Intro -
Hey everyone & welcome to our Disneyland Paris TR!!

The who?
We are Si & Keron, an engaged couple (wedding this September, eek!) from Nottingham, England! We've both been to DLP when we were much younger and have just gotten back from a WDW trip this past May.

The when?
This trip took place March 1st- 4th and was actually a surprise Christmas present I (si) got Keron...

It was kind of a double present too because March 3rd is also Kerons birthday so she was super excited about being able to celebrate her birthday in a Disney park!

The where?
We flew from Birmingham Airport to Paris CDG and then got a connecting train to DLP. We stayed at a Disney partner hotel - the Vienna House Dream Castle which is about a 5 minute shuttle away from DLP, we also get breakfast included in our stay!

- Travel Day -

Anyone from the UK will know that we had bad snow at the end of Feb/start of March, this made us very very nervous with us flying to Paris and then getting a connecting train, do we make it to Disneyland Paris on time and in one piece??

Find out below....

- The First Night -

So after many many delays we finally made it into Disneyland Paris!!

We were super hungry by this point so first thing on the agenda was getting some food and a coffee to re-energise!

The downside here was because Disneyland Paris closes so early and we were delayed by a good couple of hours we only had about an hour in the park, so we had a walk up main street and took it all in. Just had that feeling of "its good to be back", it had taken almost a days worth of travelling but we were finally walking up main street once again... bliss!!

Check out the vlog below!

- The First Full Day! -
It's our first full day!! Yayy!! Going to throw some pictures into this post too!!

Nice early start, I think we were up and getting ready around 6am! We actually went to bed relatively early the night before with the intention of being well rested for today and it really paid off!

We grabbed breakfast at the hotel, you may remember I said we have breakfast included in our stay... well because of this we weren't expecting much, continental breakfast at most but we were actually pleasantly surprised at the selection available! We were able to get a full cooked breakfast and get fully fuelled up ready for our day!!

Next it was on to the shuttle bus to the parks!! Bit of a wet day unfortunately....

At first it seemed like the crowd levels were pretty low, we figured this would work out great - we'd get a fastpass for hyperspace mountain and rope drop buzz's space ranger spin.... let's just say that didn't quite work out! Space mountain was down, the cast member told us "yeah, it's usually down till around noon" which we thought was really odd! As for space ranger spin, well take a look at the video, we didn't fancy that line first thing in the morning in the rain!!

So instead it was onto Star Tours!! What's funny here is this is literally a copy & paste of WDW's Star Tours, the only difference was the droids were speaking French which was interesting!

When we came out of Star Tours the weather had gotten worse! Baaahhh, not used to this, we're used to Disney being hotter than the sun!!

We decided to go take a closer look at the castle (we saw French Disney Ducks! Yay!!), love love love this castle, the layout is absolutely great, also we really liked that you can go down into the castles dungeon and there is an animatronic Dragon lurking down there! We tried our best not to wake him!

After avoiding becoming a Dragons brunch we headed off to check out Paris' It's a small world! It was basically a walk on and although pretty much the same as World's it was still a lot of fun!!

Next up was one that Si was really really looking forward to - Pirates of the Caribbean, we'd heard from more than one person that this version of Pirates is one of best and it certainly didn't disappoint, they take a lot from the movies and even have the pirates turn into skeletons in the moonlight; was absolutely awesome!!

We also loved the themeing in the area, the pirate ship and skull rock really added to the area, was amazing!!

Needless to say so far we were having an amazing time and there's still much more to come!!

That's it until next week!! Be sure to check out the video version of this report below!

- Meeting Jafar & more! -

After a bit of a wander round we saw a short queue to meet a character we'd never met before; Jafar!!

We do love this about the different parks - you can meet different characters, makes for a somewhat unique experience!

Jafar was so much fun and wouldn't let Keron leave :rotfl2:

We then realised we were getting kinda hungry so we headed back out of the park to find food! This is where DLP really differs from WDW, WDW is full of great dining locations but DLP is very very "just alright" with the better dining locations actually being outside the park in Downtown Disney!

So we headed out and grabbed some food at earl of sandwich, which was actually our first time ever eating at an earl of sandwich - so tasty! Better then subway we think!!

After food it was back into the parks and our plans completely fell to pieces, we were going to try and get fast passes for either space mountain or buzz but both ended up being sold out of fast passes, which was fine we figured we'd single ride space mountain instead, only to find they'd closed single rider! Even though the standby was over an hour... how odd!!

So instead we did one of the classic DLP dark rides - Snow White! If I were to compare this to a WDW attraction I'd say it's pretty close to Peter Pans flight except it goes round the track so quickly that you barely get chance to have a good look at anything! You'll see what I mean in the video below!

Next it was time to explore a little more so we headed to Frontierland in search of the Indiana Jones roller coaster, this ended up being a lot of fun and had a surprise loop that we really really wasn't expecting so we nearly lost phones and all sorts! Whoops!!

Sadly Haunted Mansion was closed for refurbishments so we weren't able to give this a go on this trip, but we'll absolutely be checking it out next time we're here!!

We explored the shops a little more before heading back to Fantasyland to check out Alices Curious Labyrinth!

That's all for now but be sure to check out the video version of this report below!
