Don't you feel iffy when people put letters after their name?

A few things seem incorrect with your statement, "PhD, MPH, MEd" next to her name. Not a medical Doctor, no background in medical research." Are you aware that in order to complete a PhD you have to do research. Depending on the particular degree, the research might be quite extensive. For my...

Little House on the Prairie 50 year reunion

Watched it every morning at 6am on TBS when I was young. My dad would call and ask which episode it was and we’d discuss which storyline it was. Outside of a few episodes I haven’t watched in years. Did make an Amtrak stop in Mankato SD once and was like, I know this town from LHOTP. lol

    Genealogy thread

At this point, probably a low percentage. That side of my family arrived to the states in the mid 1800s. DH is first generation Irish American on his mom’s side. So our kids have a good amount of Irish genetics.

Best and Worst Drivers in the US?

Having lived in CA (SF Bay Area), WA state, Maryland (just outside DC), and now TN, I can say without hesitation that the worst drivers are in Memphis, TN! Turn signals are rarely used. People cut each other off right and left, making others slam on their brakes. Drivers wil shut down a major...

    Bad news about DD's car...

This! DD#1 car was starting to go downhill. She had a 7yo fiat with ~70k miles, and we got ~$8k for it two years ago. Not bad for a car that we paid $13k for new! [At the time of purchase in 2015 we got a HUGE discount for a car that had been on the lot a year!!!!]

    Bad news about DD's car...

I would get a second opinion. Is this something that you could install yourself? Or a local community college with an automotive program? Sometimes they will install for just the cost of parts, as students are working on skills and certifications. Cars are definitely pricer these days, nor do...

Does anyone remember the "Tower of Terror" Disney movie?

Yup. It used to occasionally air on the Disney Channel during October back in the day (90s).

Miami Beach Has Spring Break Restrictions?

They’ve been trying to enforce this for a few years now. Crowds and violence, a year or two (maybe three?) there was a shooting in a crowded area during spring break. As a deterrent, the news said that there would be $100 parking fees, curfews, and extra patrols.

Quick Michigan Trip - Ford Museum, Frankenmuth, Saginaw, Bay City...

We briefly visited Saginaw last summer (work related). As I was tagging along, the only thing I saw aside from the hotel was Bronners. It was a must stop for me. We lived in western Michigan years ago, so it has been on my to do list for a long time. I’d like to stop again to see more of the town.

Does anyone still play board games? Have board games gotten too big and complicated?

Honestly I’m more of the Candyland, Chutes and Ladders, and Connect 4 kind of person. I enjoy games like Ticket to Ride and Haunted Mansion, but games are becoming too long and too complicated.

    I HATE BUGS!!!

In my house, I'm the parent sent in to kill/capture the bugs. Same with at work  I don't care for when they fly too close to or bounce off my face.

Did you enjoy the weather where you were lived growing up?

I grew up in California and miss it. Late Oct- mid-April weather was fine. Late April-mid-October, not so much. I'm not fond of 105-110* days with no AC for weeks on end. On the flip side, I live in the south, where humidity is horrible at 85% for the same amount of the year.

Hallmark Movies ❤️ comfort & joy

My husband rolled his eyes as I’m rewatching another Murder She Baked movie. His comment today, “With Allison Sweeny finding so many murdered people, do they ever assume it’s her? That she’s guilty?” Hmmm, why yes, there’s at least one episode where she’s briefly considered a suspect. Lol

    Nike....laying off workers

I haven’t worn Nike’s since the mid 90s. Rarely do I buy them for my kids. Too expensive for a shoe that doesn’t last. They’re popular locally. There’s a warehouse in Memphis with a company store that you have to be an employee to shop at. Went once on a friends pass and wasn’t impressed. The...
