Is Coronavirus affecting your travel plans?

I spent the last few weeks contemplating canceling my trip in mid-March and finally canceled today. Though I'm not in the age group of concern, my 75 year old mother lives with me and I would be heart broken if I brought something back to her (and on top of that, my husband just had kidney...

Anyone concerned about the Coronavirus in WDW ?

We have a trip planned for March 19th --- I was already on the fence about going due to my husband's kidney stones and upcoming procedure. I did call Disney about 2 weeks ago when his kidney stones first showed up - they were understanding and made specific notes. So if I need to cancel, it...

    A million questions

Thank you everyone for the responses - very helpful. Now that it was mentioned, in the past we used EMH at Disneyland with ease but once the kids came into the picture, we struggle to get out of our room. And all you have to do at Disneyland is walk 5-10 minutes to the gate. I'm not sure we...

    A million questions

I'm exaggerating but I do have a few. I'm a Disneyland pro and an uber duber newbie to Disneyworld (having gone only once to Magic Kingdom, for exactly ONE day). I've read almost everything I can get my hands on, as well as watched too many videos on the Utube, add my tendency to be a crazy...

Mid January trip, what can I expect?

I go every year at the end of January (same time as NAMM) and they do have shows on Sat/Sun (I've done both WOC and Fantasmic). Weather is a toss up, I've been in rain and 90 degree weather (not on the same trip). The crowds are reasonable but the hours are shorter. IASW is down but not HM.

Downstairs at Lamplight Lounge - inside or outside? And why?

Just a reply for the positive. 2 of us went on Saturday afternoon, reservation for 12:50. We arrived a few minutes early and I asked to be seated outside (it was a warm day, not too hot), we were seated within 5 minutes. We sat along the railing facing Incredicoaster, so plenty of shade. The...

Advice for 2 week CA road trip, incl DL and Universal

The biggest problem with LA traffic is it's spread out amongst multiple freeways and it's all the time. Though rush hour does exist, traffic is gnarly all the time...and people in SoCal tailgate. Burbank has a few nice hotels and "downtown" Burbank has Pinocchio's (old-timey Italian Deli, or...

Advice for 2 week CA road trip, incl DL and Universal

What do you really want to see on your trip to CA? What would you want to do in SF? It sounds like a trip to LA/Hollywood is a definite, as well as Disneyland and SD, but the other areas are not set. If I could add an opinion, drop SF from your trip. I live in the bay area so I'm coming from...

Driving Hwy 101 from Bay Area - Suggestions for meal stops?

Yes, I have eaten at Yolanda's...the food is decent, not the best, but it's decent. If you're looking for a really good Mexican restaurant in the Ventura County area, try Cabo Seafood and Grill in Oxnard, super yummy and some of the best guacamole. Corrales is more of a walk up joint, you...

Driving Hwy 101 from Bay Area - Suggestions for meal stops?

As someone who drives 101 from Northern CA to Southern CA regularly, there are a few easy stops along the way. If you need a bathroom break, King City is the easiest stop. That's probably about 2+ hours into your drive. You can take the Broadway exit and stop at either McDonalds or Starbucks...

20th Anniversary Baja Cruise and Disneyland Visit - October 2017

Can't wait to read about the trip. BTW, my friend did the work/design on Pagan Idol..he also did Smuggler's Cove & Whitechapel in SF. He definitely has an eye for design.

Someone planning on gate-crashing our holiday (what would u do)

Oops, I have invited myself on a trip with my nephew, his girlfriend and their sweet baby boy. But, I asked him to make sure his girlfriend was ok with me coming along and....I paid for most of the trip. It was so fun that we're doing it again this coming January and I can't wait to spend time...

Weather: More Rain on the way for DLR this week

I'll be there from Sunday-Tuesday, with WOC dessert party on Monday evening. Do they cancel WOC if it rains? I think the last time I went to Disneyland in the rain was a 7th grade field trip...30+ years ago. Do they shut down rides if it rains or does it depend on the amount of rain?

    Quick trip report

In a normal (non-Disney) environment her demeanor wouldn't have surprised me but for some reason I always assumed that CMs (and VIP tour guides) are expected to be uber friendly & helpful, to everyone. In October I did the Happiest Haunts tour and that guide was interrupted so many times and...

    Quick trip report

Our company decided that a quick trip to DLR was better option than a holiday party. So, yesterday at 7am we all flew from N. CA to SNA for a day trip. Our return flight was returning at 9:20pm, giving us plenty of time in the parks. To make the day even better we splurged for the VIP tour...

    Disney's Happiest Haunts Tour

I did the tour on Friday - I've never done a tour at Disneyland so I had no expectations going in. We mainly walked around the park and the CM gave info about the park (with a Haunted House twist) as we walked. We did see a mechanical flower from the Tiki Room up close and then had a Mickey...

    Just got back...

This was probably one of my best trips but also my most tiring. We arrived on Tuesday evening, flying into SNA from SJC. I set up car service so our transfer to the hotel was easy. Upon arrival at the Grand, we were immediately whisked to the 6th floor - check in was a breeze. We enjoyed...

    Rental car company near DLH?

There is an Alamo in Downtown Disney (I just picked up a car today) - if you're staying at DHL it will take a few minutes to walk over there, they're open until 6pm.
