    DL in the rain?? Help!

Extra shoes were going to be my suggestion, unfortunately! Or, at least bring some that are kind of thin/breathable, so hopefully they dry faster. We had a good amount of rain over Christmas week 2022 trip. I had 3 pairs of shoes. I purposely wore some old tennis shoes on the worst weather day...

    Airport Experiences in SoCal

It's been awhile since this thread started, and having had a couple more work trips to LAX - one bit of advice I'll add if you definitely need to fly into LAX: the easiest arrival plan is to fly Southwest and walk out to the ride share / taxi area. This will avoid long walks and/or the hassle of...

DLH standard vs Pixar Pool Terrace Club Level (gluten free?)

Hard-boiled eggs would have been better for DH! That's actually one of his buffet go-tos. I agree that they need something hot - literally any kind of hot egg and breakfast meat seems better than spicy deviled eggs and cold cuts. We have better included breakfasts off-property in some chains, to...

DLH standard vs Pixar Pool Terrace Club Level (gluten free?)

Oh yes, there were cold cuts at breafkast! I forgot about that. However, when we were there, they had spicy deviled eggs instead of hard-boiled eggs. That was the only kind of egg. I ate them b/c I wanted some protein, and they were ok (not great).

    Tomorrowland Skyline Terrace

Such a strange assortment of items! I guess vegetarians now have to get allergy meals? I thought the previous options were pretty bad for my family (two celiacs and one vegetarian), but yikes. I cannot imagine trying to sell the average kid on Waldorf salad. I guess they are trying to make it...

    Downtown Disney & Resort Activities?

You can see what live music and atmosphere is scheduled for your particular date here, just change the date at the top left. https://disneyland.disney.go.com/calendars/day/2024-03-15/#/downtown-disney-district,disneyland/ We did that same kind of thing back in Oct. We caught one of the live...

DLH standard vs Pixar Pool Terrace Club Level (gluten free?)

I've never stayed in the Pixar Place Hotel, but I can tell you that (safe) gluten-free food is, on the surface, pretty limited for DLH club level. There was no allergen labeling, and it's not a very big space, so cross-contamination is highly likely. They had Kind bars and fruit during the snack...

Would you upgrade to Concierge for these reasons?

Unrelated to concierge - bonine is for ages 12 and up. Our pediatrician was ok with our eldest taking at age 11 (not sure if size is a factor - but we're all very tall so she was already like 5'7" or 5'8" by then). However, she definitely wasn't ok with our youngest (7 and then-8yo on the two...

Courtyard Theme Park Entrance vs. DLH Villa

I don't think I'd be able to justify the $3k difference. Except I somehow justified a $1k night during Christmas week in DLH club level, so probably I'm just kidding myself. 😂 My family isn't really bothered by the vendors and "you're going to hell" megaphone guy. My kids are teens, so that's...

Advice on Grad Nite and late May

Our (very large) district in AZ will be there on May 22nd. I realize that's not on your list of dates, phew! FWIW, they only do the all day park hopper option. So I think it just depends on the organization they are booked through, and ours definitely doesn't give options - you sign up for the...

    Have you had these foods?

DD had this. She was expecting, well, a grilled cheese sandwich, primarily, with a smallish amount of meat (like a Panera panini amount of meat). I think it would be much more representative of the sandwich to call it a "loaded burnt ends sandwich, with cheese". Tons of meat. She was not a fan...

SpaceMan5 trip report...1/21-1/27, rides, BWPAI, food, etc

That happened to us last year, and my kids (who are teens) thought it was the most exciting way to ride BTMRR. I was like ok, if you say so. They went on Matterhorn a few times in a row next while the boring adults moved over to (indoor) HM. We did get some great family photos in the rain, and...

    Parking at San Diego

I booked cruise parking at the Wyndam through this site for our March 2023 cruise: https://airportparkingreservations.com/lot_wyndham_san_diego_bayside_cruise_saz. I was able to apply a coupon code too. I'm not sure what the ACE Parking website is? We didn't stay here, but it's definitely true...

    Panera Question

It's a pretty extensive menu, so I'll bet you get 100 different responses. For lunch, I always do the "you pick two" option with a half sandwich and half salad. My favorite salad is the Fuji apple one. The chipotle chicken avocado melt or Frontega chicken are my sandwich go-tos, but I've never...

    New Hungry Bear Dining Package

Years ago (2016, 17 maybe?) we did an on-the-go parade package. Aladdin's Oasis Paint the Night package or something like that. It was actually a good deal, b/c even though it was "on-the-go", there was plenty of quiet, relaxed, dedicated seating for us to use in Adventureland where we picked it...

    Passport Signature

I would agree with that, but the above rules my post referenced does not seem to. "... a parent should print the child's full name on the signature line. The parent should also sign their name next to the printed name of their child..." (emphasis added)

    Passport Signature

I think the above rules are going to be hilarious in the very near future, considering we're now squarely in the teen years for kids who were never taught cursive and will often have to print their names or scribble some nonsense. And before anyone says "oh but my kid/s learned" - I totally get...

    SoCal hotel/itinerary recommendations

My daughter goes to university in LA. It's ridiculous just getting from Santa Monica to her dorm (~8mi) during the day! When we visited in the fall, we shoved a last-minute Downtown Disney/Trader Sam's outing on our way to Irvine, and it took 2h to get there. So I definitely agree that a split...

    Trader Sam's Reservations?

This part is so funny to me. (Not saying that you're incorrect, purely that their system is weird!) We walked-up and got on the list in Oct as a party of 2. I tried to use the app first, and it would only let me on the wait list if I had a party of 5 or more. Go figure!
