    Grand Flo vs. Poly????

We’ve stayed at both with our now 11 year old son. His first experience was a Poly at age 3 and, if asked now, he’d say this is his favorite resort. That said, he also likes the GF and in fact we have a trip there planned for April. As others have mentioned, the Poly just feels “busier”, but GF...

Best WDW resort for 9 YO Boy after Animal Kingdom?

My son is 11. We’ve stayed BC, YC, Poly, and GF over the last several years. His favorite is still Poly but he very much has enjoyed all the others as well. He’s a huge fan of Stormalong Bay and he’s a strong swimmer, so as he’s gotten older I’ve felt more comfortable with him moving up and down...

Disneyworld Scavenger hunts and “collecting” activities

My husband and son (11) both enjoy the Pirates Adventure at MK. We’ve also had fun as a family with the Epcot Easter egg hunts when we’re there during the right time of year. I don’t think you’d get a strange look as an adult doing any of it: this is Disney! Kids and kids at heart are welcome...

We were there in October 2023 and yes, they did the parade.

    Poly MDE- Aotearoa??

We stayed in Aotearoa in October. We had resort view and got room 3201 which is a corner room, 3rd floor, closest to Tonga. We had a view of the monorail and some trees. It was lovely and quiet. We could see the walls for the construction when entering the longhouse, but saw and heard nothing...

    Cabana Rentals

Is there a better time of day to call or is it just luck?

    Cabana Rentals

Sorry to jump into this thread late but curious what number people call for the cabana rental? I've tried the rec number at 407-939-7529 for the last 3 days, waiting over an hour (and once 2 hours) and not getting through. I finally had to give up because "real life" intruded. Is there a better...

    Flight Time

Having traveled on long flights with a 5 year old, I'd take the first option even if it's more money. Getting in really late at night will have a ripple effect the next day. Yes, getting up super early is hard but you'll likely be in your room by 6pm or so and able to get a decent night's sleep...

    Pin Codes?

I also got one in the mail last fall for 30% off spring dates up through June 2020.

Do you need FP for Fantasmic?

We've never had a problem getting a seat standby. We go all different times of year. The sections are different (FP versus standby) but our view has been fine.

    What was your first resort?

After so many childhood trips staying offsite, my first Disney resort was GF in 1995 for my honeymoon. At the time, I absolutely loved it but for some reason haven’t felt a pull to go back. We then took an 18 year WDW break before returning for another offsite stay in 2013 and finally back on...

Better to RD GE or Try for Evening Magic Hours?

We split our day at HS on our recent trip (2/17-2/21). We arrived before opening to try for a RotR BG and got lucky with #29, so we were able to do that before leaving the park by 9:45. We returned much later that night and the wait for Smugglers Run was posted at 40min (this was about 45 min...

Lounging spaces besides room and pool

Beach Club has the Solarium. There are also some wide swings along the beach outside BC, as well as lounge chairs. I've also seen folks hanging out in the chairs outside the Yachtsman during the day, before they start serving dinner.

Do you stay at the same resort?

We have tried multiple resorts that we’ve enjoyed (GF years ago, Poly, CR) but lately we have preferred YC. It just clicks with us. We have one more YC trip booked for June and then maybe we will consider going back to another resort (or not!).

Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Weather was great Monday through Thursday. A couple of mornings were cloudy but the sun was out by noon each day. We all went into the pool multiple times each day. It was quite warm out so the water was a nice reprieve. Friday was cloudy, windy, and much cooler (50s) but we weren’t at the pool...

Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

We just got home from another great stay at the YC. This was our 4th time there. Our 3 previous YC trips were club level but this time we decided to channel that upcharge into cabana rentals instead. We reserved a cabana for 3 full days and it really enhanced our time at the pool by a wide...

READ POST 1 & 2 FIRST-Rise of the Resistance Boarding Group Planning and Information-*No Spoilers*

FWIW, here’s a description of our experience yesterday (2/18/20): Our group of 3 left Yacht Club at 7:10, walking. Arrived at the park by 7:35 (we are leisurely walkers) and through gates by 7:42am. We decided to hang around Crossroads as our signal was strong there and we had no interest in...

    Captain Hooks Pirate Crew

There were several dinner options...I want to say Mac and cheese, chicken fingers, and maybe a few others also? Snacks were goldfish. Dessert had two choices but my son picked cupcake. It was a good sized cupcake too, not a miniature one. When you check in, you get a menu to make your...

Best way to check for change on resort?

We recently stayed at YC and our shower was not a walk in. It was a tub/shower combo. You may want to make the walk in shower a request to increase likelihood of getting it. We've had it before on prior stays, but not this last visit. Personally, we LOVE YC and hope you have a great trip!
