Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend (Oct. 31-Nov. 3, 2024)

You don't find out whether your PoT was accepted until you pick up your bib at the Expo during race weekend. You can get a pretty good idea of whether it was accepted or not by the bib number you'll get when runner tracking/Expo passes go live, but the letter on the bib is the definitive indicator.

The Aeropex were rebranded as the OpenRun, so they're the same thing. They also have the OpenRun Pro with faster charging and longer battery life, but not quite as much waterproofing.

My wife is currently loving this style of cross-body bag. Super cheap on Amazon. She also looked at the Vera Bradley's, but didn't love any of the patterns.

Speaking of shorts, does anyone have a good pair of running shorts with pockets without an inner liner that they can recommend? I wear compression shorts underneath and it's very hard to find running shorts without a liner. I know I can always cut the liner out, but I hate having to do that.

Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend (Oct. 31-Nov. 3, 2024)

The pre-race meet-ups are generally by a specified light pole in the staging area. The Saturday afternoon meet-up is usually at Hurricane Hannah's at 2p.

Do you know how many miles you normally get out of a pair of this model? I tracke mileage on my shoes, but they really tell me when they’re done. I’ll start to get unexplained aches and pains in my feet, ankles or knees when it’s time to switch. The overall mileage seems to be model dependent...

They supply pins. I always keep an extra set of pins in my travel supplies, though, just in case they get lost or one goes missing.

I don’t put much stock in the “Body Battery” metric and pretty much ignore it. My race from last March really showed how ridiculously unreliable it is:

Members of the group meet in the staging area each morning pre-race to socialize. It helps the waiting go by and helps keep the nerves at bay. It's a great group and all are welcome.

I've still got mine. Used it on the carrying case for my Savi's Workshop lightsaber on the plane home from that Marathon Weekend and it's still on there.

Sundays are for Disney: Good morning, again, RunDisney All-Stars. With the fun of March Magical Madness out of the way, let's get back to running. This week features the event before the event that we're all here for. What could that be? Registration! We've got a fair number of new...

Good morning RunDisney All-Stars. It is my distinct pleasure to present to you your March Magical Madness champion, the Haunted Mansion! The 999 spooks came to play and showed that they had room for one more trophy! The initial voting was close, with the Guardians and the spooks trading the...

Just to add to this, all 15 of my marathons have featured maximum long runs of 13-16 miles, not exceeding 3 hours. I'll take it a step further and add that I've never gone beyond those distances in training for any of my 9 ultras, which include three 100k and another out to 76 miles. I think...

You've gotten a lot of good advice already, so I'll just chime in on the gloves piece. I did a 14 mile long run in 34-36 degree rain a few years ago. My gloves got soaked and I might as well have not been wearing them. I thought I might've actually done some damage to my hands at the time...
