Cabins at Fort Wilderness Points Charts Posted! For Sale and Booking Dates too!

Yeah, we usually stay in the cabins over Thanksgiving, either 7 or 8 nights. Which was why we thought it was weird that we could only book for 6 nights no matter what dates we tried. (We tried online, over the phone, etc, and even the CMs couldn't figure it out.) I knew the cabins were bookable...

Cabins at Fort Wilderness Points Charts Posted! For Sale and Booking Dates too!

Ok, I was wondering because we were able to book a cabin in Nov 2023 for Nov 2024, but only for 6 nights (we wanted 7 nights). We couldn't book for more than 6 nights for ANY dates we tried (no matter what month). We also couldn't find anything for a single night. We weren't sure if that booking...

Cabins at Fort Wilderness Points Charts Posted! For Sale and Booking Dates too!

What's the timeline for switching all the cabins to the new models? (Specifically, at the end of November 2024 will there still be some of the old cabins left?)

    February/March 2024 Egypt trip

Yep, that's him! He was our guide in Greece last summer. We've been very happy with all our ABD guides but Chris and Sammy have probably been our favorites.

Was it the Chris who lives in Greece?

"Disney trips are so complicated now that you need a class to plan one"

Completely agree. Most places require advanced booking nowadays. We tried to go to a couple popular historical sites in the Northeast 10 years ago and found out that it wasn't possible at the "last minute." Every time slot was sold out for the weekend we were in the area. If we want to go to a...

"Disney trips are so complicated now that you need a class to plan one"

Idk, I feel like it's more complicated because you need to know what excursions you want for the various cruise stops. The guests with advance booking privileges tend to book up the cabanas, reservations like Palo and Remy, the more popular excursions, etc.

Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2024 Edition

Are you talking about the impossible kefta? It's not supposed to be falafel (unless you mean a different dish?). Kefta is essentially meatballs, so falafel wouldn't appropriately approximate them like impossible does. It's actually the only thing I like on the Docking Bay 7 menu, and we get it...

Flight question for those who have done Greece

I definitely wouldn't say I hated Santorini, but it wasn't my favorite place. Our cell reception was fine. The ABD hotel on Santorini sucks - super cramped, steep narrow stairs up to the loft, second bed is an uncomfortable pull out, the bathroom flooded every time we showered (despite properly...

Flight question for those who have done Greece

I would schedule at least a few hour layover in Athens. In my admittedly limited travel, the airports in Greece were some of the more stressful I've encountered. They were crowded, WAY too little seating, long lines at security, PITA rules about carry ons (restrictions on weight), etc. I can't...

    Epic Universe

I'm not sure about hurting Disney's business, but there are families like mine that have a limited number of days we can spend in Orlando at a given time. While my DH and I go to Orlando several times a year, we take all of our kids and do a big family trip just a couple times a year. Our...

    TRON Plus sized

Same. Even though I'm relatively young, I have arthritis and muscle weakness, so either holding my head back or holding my torso up with my arms is uncomfortable. I don't know if I'd opt for a bench seat. I have sat out Tron when I didn't think the pain would be worth the ride.

Don't know where to start planning

We're out of state WDW APs, go several times a year. We've also been to DLR many times. So we're pretty familiar with the US parks, but we've never been to any of the international parks (yet). I'm chaperoning one of my kids' high school trips to Europe this summer. I went on a couple school...

What is the value for you in ABD trips?

I'm going to echo some of the sentiments others have already made. We've only done 3 ABDs so far, and we've done some more world travel on our own (not nearly as much as others on these boards). Our first ABD was S CA (the longer trip including Hollywood and DLR). Like someone else mentioned...

Kind of a weird question, but what are the bathrooms (shower and toilet specifically) like?

Meerkat Safari following South Africa ABD?

I'm not looking to spend money just to spend it, but I am the indoorsy type and pretty picky about accommodations. I grew up very frequently camping, fishing, etc and hated it, so I have refused to so much as set foot in a motorhome (no matter how "nice") or tent since I was 15. Hence my kids...

Stroller for 7 year old w/ Autism? Yay or Nay?

We no longer use a stroller for our kids, but did at the parks up until a couple years ago (stopped when our autistic son was about 5). The main benefit to using a stroller for him was he HATES fireworks. We think it's the visual stimulation, because he doesn't seem to mind hearing them outside...

Meerkat Safari following South Africa ABD?

What ages would you say are good for a trip like this? We're definitely taking our teen (who chose a safari as a graduation trip), and had planned on taking our younger kids (who will be 10 to 13). I'm not sure if we should leave the youngest at home though? Also, if you don't mind me asking...

Meerkat Safari following South Africa ABD?

Do you think any of that was due to the specific location(s)/lodge(s) you were at in Botswana? Or is Botswana generally more remote than some of these other countries? I've only just started looking into safaris but it's already fairly overwhelming with all the possible reserves etc to visit...
