    Latest Room Request Strategy

I've always used TP in the past with varying success at all resorts, but for marathon weekend, I traveled with a big group, and we all wanted to be in the same section of SSR. About a month before marathon weekend, we did 4 separate chats with member services, and we were 4 for 4 getting studios...

    Shower caps?

I use shower caps on vacation, so I notice when they're there and when they're not. We had them in a Grand Cal studio last summer, but never in the WDW studios.

    Poly Tower

I just booked the Poly for August in hopes of one more stay there before the tower opens. What do we think my chances are? Have there been any updates other than "late 2024?"

    Hotel near Universal?

We stayed at the Garland last summer and loved it! Highly recommend.

Any non-value resorts that sleep 5?

If I'm reading correctly in the room descriptions, it seems like the main difference between the Universal and Disney resorts is the lack of sofa bed/pullout couch in the Universal Resorts. Anyone know how hard it is to get a rollaway bed? The 6 year old could sleep on that.

Any non-value resorts that sleep 5?

It's a super short trip (2 nights) so we won't be in the room much :-)

Any non-value resorts that sleep 5?

4 adults and 1 6 year old child. All in the same family, so sharing beds is fine. We were originally booked at Sapphire Falls in a regular room with 4 people, but if we add a 5th will we be uncomfortable? Do the Premiere Resorts comfortably fit 5? For reference, as a kid my family of 5 often...

My USH day without VIP or Express.

Yup. We were there on a day the park opened at 8, so early entry at 7. We arrived at 6:30 AM and were far from the first people in the park. But we were in good shape. I would not have wanted to arrive much later than that. We were walking into the land by 6:52 and getting on Mario Kart at 6:59.

    Villas Grand Cailfornian…waitlist being granted?

I had a waitlist come through last July for a studio, so anything is possible!

Walk of Fame with young kids

We did a drive by of the Hollywood walk of fame/Chinese theater on a Monday around 8 AM. It was empty. We were in a hurry so didn't get out of the car, but I wouldn't have hesitated to take my 6 & 9 year olds out at that time of day.

    Airport Experiences in SoCal

You'll be fine! Give yourself lots of extra time when returning your rental car just in case the shuttles take awhile, since all rental car facilities are technically offsite. We have pre check and only do carry-ons and left our airport area hotel at 3 AM for a 5 AM flight. We returned a rental...

    Airport Experiences in SoCal

We fly from the east coast, and especially given the inconsistency of flights over the past few years, I'll take a nonstop over any flight with a layover, no matter the airport. There are 3-4 nonstops between LAX and our home airport every day, and you can't beat that in terms of flexibility. We...

Split stay, which resort first and why? Saratoga Springs and Polynesian

I like to do a MK resort first and then finish at a quieter resort. I love the Poly but there’s a lot going on over there. One of my favorite splits was Bay Lake Tower followed by Old Key West. After four nights at BLT we were more than ready to relax and unwind in a calmer environment.

    ECV and busses at SSR

Ha! Whoops. Didn't read that closely enough. Sorry!

    ECV and busses at SSR

I would request Grandstand, near the Carriage house. I'm not sure of the building number, but if you look up a map of SSR, the closest rooms are 8501-8836. Second choice would be Grandstand rooms 8101-8436. Grandstand is the first bus pick up.

1-Bedroom villa at BLT vs Riviera for 5 adults

5 adults and one toilet sounds like a nightmare. Bay Lake Tower is the only answer. LOL. We put 4 adults, a 5 year old, and a 2 year old in a one bedroom at BLT once, and it was totally fine. It was only fine because of the two full bathrooms.

just for fun - tell me where you'd stay if you were me.

If you plan to use your car daily, SSR and OKW would be my top choices. Nothing compares to being able to park right outside of your villa. I like the full size washer/dryer set up in the OKW villas, but the murphy beds at SSR.

    Upgrading tickets

Can you upgrade regular tickets like at WDW? We bought one day park to park, but might want to spend a half day in the parks the day we arrive. I didn’t see a place to add a day in the app, only a button to change the date. Is this something I can do at check in? We’re staying on-site. Thanks!

    Discounts? FL resident or other?

Thank you! I'll hold off on booking. We don't have our hearts set on any specific hotel, so maybe we'll wait a few more weeks to see what's offered.

    Discounts? FL resident or other?

Hello there! Trying to plan my first onsite stay at Universal Orlando for a non-holiday weekend in January. We're FL residents. Are there usually any discounts for FL residents or the general public? Are we looking at paying rack rate? We're used to WDW where discounts abound, especially in...
