    Taste of Universal Food Event

Is anyone here checking out Universal's limited time food event? They extended it an extra weekend through April 11th, which is right after my boyfriend and my vaccines take full effect, so we just bought tickets. Curious if anyone else is taking the plunge! (Decided this was a better move for...

The Current Disneyland Annual Pass Program Has Been Cancelled

This doesn't surprise me considering the changes they've made to the program over the last few years. I was a SoCal Select passholder for several years and absolutely loved it, but have limited my visits in the last few years to the SoCal 3-Day ticket they tend to release in January. Prior to...

When are you planning to return to DLR?

Not till a vaccine is widespread, so maybe late 2021? But probably not till 2022. As much as I want to get to the parks sooner, I wouldn't feel comfortable until that point. (And I'm a local so it's not hard to go spur of the moment once things are safe.)

    DISers Love Broadway!

I'm so excited more people get to see it! I was lucky enough to see original cast right after they won the Tony (minus original King George and Peggy because the former changed long before then and the latter was off that night), and I'm really glad people finally get to see what that cast was...

Haunted Mansion Holiday in 2020? Any Info?

I think it's a safe assumption there won't be an overlay this year. We may very well still have limited numbers in the park in the fall, and if the construction doesn't restart until opening is announced, I doubt they can finish the refurb and get everything up in time. Meanwhile, I'll be...

    Space Mountain Temporarily Closed

I was in line, waiting in row 1 to be boarded when it shut down yesterday afternoon. (I think it was about 2:30?) The group that was on the ride then said someone had fallen out, and a couple people were yelling something about their friend missing. (The Group was mainly special needs people so...

PSA: Japanese Airbnb laws are changing after June 15, 2018

Update for those interested: crackdown has officially occurred. AirBnB is canceling reservations made after June 15th at locations without a license, but is providing support to people affected: https://press.atairbnb.com/supporting-travelers-in-japan/ This has already affected several of my...

    Visiting the Park with Injuries?

I didn't even think about this! Thanks for the heads up.

    Visiting the Park with Injuries?

Thanks for the advice everyone! My dad pointed out that by the time we get to the parks, he'll be at six or seven weeks recovery, so he's hoping the ribs will be mainly healed by then. That said, I am definitely following advice on here. Our current plan is to do an easy day in DL (skipping CA...

    Visiting the Park with Injuries?

My dad was planning to come to LA with me right after the new year to help me move to my new apartment, and like every trip when he comes down, we were planning on doing at least a day down in the parks. Unfortunately, he was hit by a car while out on his bicycle three weeks ago. He's doing much...

Have a plan .. does it make sense?

Since you'll only be doing the evening the first day, you may want to look at the after 6 passport. This is a much cheaper ticket that will let you in to the park of your choice after 6pm. I don't know how it plays into getting a parkhopper for your third day though, so if that's a priority...

Returning to Japan, and TDR, February 2018

Definitely be prepared for the cold; I find it to be colder in January, but there can be some brisk days in February. Just glancing at the resort calendar, looks like there are shortened hours end of January/first week of February, but after that the parks are open late again. That should be...

One Day - No Hopper - DL or DCA

Disneyland. I've only done DCA without a hopper once and ran out of things to do by mid-afternoon. DL I've done several times non-hopper and never get bored. I just think there's more to enjoy over there.

Opinion on 1-day TDL touring plan

Monday! (Japan is a day ahead of US timezones.) I don't go anywhere near the parks on the weekends.

Opinion on 1-day TDL touring plan

I was just in the park today, and I can tell you your FP strategy probably won't work. I made it to Monsters fastpass machine ten minutes after opening, and return time was already at 11:30. Space is also a later fastpass return, and Buzz actually built up a 40 minute line in the am. Also, small...

    Tokyo or Aulani?

Glad I could help! Climbing Mt Fuji is definitely a once in a lifetime experience, and if you have a chance one day I highly recommend it! It's really impossible to climb outside of official season; you need to get special permission from the local police dept, the trails aren't clear, and no...

    Tokyo or Aulani?

Getting a good view of Mt Fuji can really be a hit or miss. I've had days where I can see it from the entrance from Disneyland (this was in late November), to other days where nothing at all, even from Skytree. It sounds like you're leaning towards Japan, so I thought I'd share the itinerary I...

    Tokyo or Aulani?

How many days would you have for Japan? I honestly wouldn't recommend less than a week, and even then I'd advise to stay in Tokyo area rather than going out to Kyoto. If you're doing tourist areas (Tokyo, Kyoto, etc), the language barrier shouldn't be too much an issue, so I wouldn't let that...

    October weather?

You may get away with a pair of shorts, but for late October I'd recommend pants and a light jacket/some long sleeves. You'll probably be fine with one jacket. It can be quite cool in the evenings. I'd also take a look at the weather a week before you go to get a sense; you never know if we'll...

    Mid-June Weather: A Dilemma

You actually will hit Tokyo before the worst of the humidity and heat. (That's August! We're dying right now.) You may have some hot days, but it's generally milder than the rest of the summer. Plus you hit the parks before the summer crowds, so it should be a nice time to visit. Be prepared for...
