I love credit cards so much!

I am disappointed in the SW card too. I don't really get the appeal at this point. I guess I was hoping that the introductory offer would be much better but this feels rather 'meh'.

I got my CSR in 9/16 and my CSP in 1/17 so I'll be ready to DD the Sapphires in 4/19 (24 mos past CSP bonus). That feels forever away though!

It looks like you have not delved much into Amex biz cards. Maybe that should be your next step? What is your DH's */24? Does he have a CIP?

DH got the CSR 5/17 when we were able to do the double dip for the travel credit. He called to PC to CF but ended up with the CFU before the second AF
SW Plus 6/2018
CIP 10/17
SW Biz 5/18 Spend now done and should have CP if he travels or at least I will have points to get through 2019 until I can get next CP

I don't have much of a grasp of the Amex business cards. I probably need to do more learning about how to use MRs. The spend on my SPG was a little more stressful than the other cards with the number of places that don't take Amex cards.

Spg business isn't much of a card right now. (or are you saying you have these last three cards?)

Those are the Business cards that I have at this time. I got the SPG to complete the points I needed for hotel+flights package. I got a Cat 6 package with 100,000 RR points
With the rooms I am able to get with my timeshare at a very reasonable price the hotel cards are not so much of a draw for me. I had gotten the Marriott cards originally in case I needed points for our Aruba trip last winter. However, I was able to get the 2nd timeshare week and the points were then just sitting there not knowing what to do until the hotel + flight option was brought up by someone here.
I do use my Hyatt points for my stay park fly in MSP so that one has value for me.

Nothing like waiting until the last minute but finally purchased our DL tickets for our visit beginning this Sunday from LMTClub. Can someone tell me how they will work? Are they electronic? Will I need to print something out? Will DH and my SIL be able to add them to their phones? Trying to figure it out since I haven't received anything from LMTClub yet.

Get on this ASAP. LMT is great, but it can take a day or two for them to send you the e-tickets after your place your order. If you input dates of your trip too close in time, the Disneyland tickets may not show up on the site. You can "push out" your trip a few days and the Disneyland tickets should show as available again. The expiration date on the tickets are usually the same regardless of your trip dates, but it's a matter of LMT being able to process the tickets in time for you.

LMT will send your tickets as PDF via email, which you can print out or pull up on your phone for the CM at the turnstiles to scan. Proceed directly to the turnstiles; no need to go to the ticket booth. There, the CM will scan the barcode off the e-ticket and issue you actual tickets/parkhoppers, take your photos to attach to the physical ticket, and have you sign it. Done.

Thanks. I have already ordered them from their site but I guess I was expecting an email confirmation to quickly follow. I have received nothing in the 4 hours since I ordered them. I called and the agent is going to process them now so I hopefully I get them shortly.

When do you get family boarding with Southwest? Under 6 or 7? I forgot the exact age but if you get family boarding you will be able to sit together. I also have no problem saving seats no one wants to sit next to you anyway and everyone looks for an open row. You’d probably be fine going to the back and holding seats back there.

Also, if you check in right at 24 hours you will be fine too. I paid for the early bird check in once when it was my SO’s first time flying. He was extremely nervous lol. It isn’t necessary tho. We have sat together on every flight except for the one where I decided I was leaving for Orlando four hours before flight time.

Also, no one buys those A1-15 boarding positions so there should be some available. Every time I fly now they are trying to sell them.

I think family boarding is 6 and under...

Agree with going to the back to save seats...everyone seems to want to sit in the front

Flying home from Orlando I always buy EBCI..don’t want to bother checking in at 24 hrs when I’m on vacation..plus there are always lots of families boarding on Orlando flights.

Just a DP from my airport..ISP...I’ve seen all the A1-15slots occupied more often than not recently

Just did an app for the Citibusiness AA Plat Select Card. Got this message...
We have received your application and further processing is required. We will contact you in approximately 7-10 days regarding our decision. If approved, be sure to visit citicards.com to register and manage your account online. Thank you for requesting a CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Mastercard®.

Anyone know what this means? Do they have a "code" like Chase where 30 msg is good but 7-10 is bad?

My last app was SPG Biz at the beginning of March.

So, I'll be my own DP. I guess that message wasn't indicative of anything horrible. Got an approval email just now!
I’ll be another data point. I got the same message. They needed to call to verify identity. So not the bad Chase message. It did take them 2 days to get around to calling and the first time they didn’t leave a message to return a call so it really took 3 days until I got on the phone with them.

Hey! I used to fly out of ISP! I’m from LI, but was living in queens before moving to VA. When I go home and Southwest I fly to ISP. I used to fly to Orlando sometimes too if it was cheaper than JfK. My apartment used to be a 10 min Uber ride to JFK, but ISP was sometimes easier since you never have to taxi for years there lol.

Small world...lol..I live 10 minutes from ISP...so it’s my go to airport, even if it means a change of planes
And yes you leave the gate and take off...and on arrival the luggage is usually out before you get to the carousel

Applied for the Barclays Arrival+ a week ago and my application is still pending. They are really taking their sweet time denying me for being over 6/24.

I'm tempted to call, but I feel like if I wait this out I just might slip through, whereas human eyes from a call will pretty quickly deny me. Only thing I have going for me is another Barclays card, a Wyndham, that I've had since December and I've put a lot of spend over just the minimum bonus amount on it. They do like existing relationships, from what I've read.

We're going dancing :cool1::cheer2:::yes:::cheer2::cool1: yeah

Thanks! I have heard/seen negative stuff about AA points, but when I go look at the reward chart I see lots of opportunities. Of course, I am flying out of CLT and am an AA hostage (if I want to fly anywhere direct anyway). So I think this will be a good card to have and help us bide some times before we finish out 5/24 with chase.

Email from Delta offering me 150 miles for taking a "brief survey". Decided what the heck, why not? Click through... "this survey will take 15-20 mins to complete" :rotfl2:
Well in Delta's defense the survey was like 7 mins, no I didn't read it very well at all. I'm just really bored this morning! Some highlights: how many credit cards do you hold? "prefer not to answer" What airline do you think of as Caring? "none" Thoughtful? "none" ...who comes up with this stuff? Q #1 is valid but no one is booking a flight because of how caring an airline is!

just call. Im pretty sure its pending still because it needs a human eye to look at. I dont recall Barclay having any card restrictions similar to 5/24.

I’d let it sit. I’ve seen a DP from someone who let it sit and they got approved. You’re over 6/24, no need to draw extra attention to your application.

ETA: for clarification I’ve also seen people denied after letting it sit but imho you still have nothing to gain by calling

6/24 seems to be it, but it’s not nearly as consistent as Chase’s very hard 5/24. I have like 10 people over 6/24 who’ve been approved on the Reddit thread for A+ despite being at or over 6/24, but most people are denied do to too many inquiries/accounts.

I am sorta rethinking my SW CP plan too since it won't be super easy anymore. Since we are moving back to CHS next May I will no longer need to fly to CHS a couple times a year, or to MCO. That will cut down on our flights substantially. I may be better off just racking up UR points and transferring as needed to SW.

I don't value the early boarding 4x that comes with the card because we go straight to the back of the plane anyways. I don't know what I was hoping for with the card, but they didn't deliver.:sad1:

My SunTrust Business checking bonus posted yesterday. A nice and easy bonus that just required patience.

  • 6/8/18 - Account Opened
  • 6/12/18 - Initial $100 deposit
  • 6/21/18 - $1,501 ACH posted
  • 6/26/18 - ACH pull withdrawing $1,600 (leaving $1 in account)
  • 7/19/18 - $200 bonus posted
Account must stay open for 180 days, much like the personal checking. The bonus only requires a $1,500 deposit. The account has fees, but they are expressly waived for the first 12 months per the fine print. No issues there. I plan to withdraw the bonus and leave $1 until I can close it in a few months.

Highly recommend both the $500 personal and $200 biz SunTrust to anyone who has access to it.

Thanks for sharing. I am now waiting...completed my debits yesterday. Hopefully in about a month I will have an extra $500.

I love how quickly Amex signup bonuses post. Finished my Hilton Biz MSR on Monday (or Tuesday), and the bonus points are in my HH account already. (They could’ve been there yesterday, but I didn’t get a chance to check.) Still slogging away on DW’s Hilton Biz...
Yes! So great! I am working on mine still too. I think I have about $1500 to go.

But even mid-June which is high season for both there's a huge difference. 6/15 Eastern (Fantasy) in a 7A had opening day pricing of $2,900/person. 6/17 Alaskan (Wonder) had opening day pricing of $4,250/person. I don't see any examples from June - August where Alaska isn't significantly more than the Caribbean.

Yes for sure...Alaska high season is higher than Carib high season. I was just pointing out how/why sometimes the diff is not so great.
