I love credit cards so much!

+1 on the dessert party too.

It's a steep price, but I don't think I've ever had an experience like that at Disney. I kept thinking that it was going to be similar to the dessert party for the fireworks, but boy was I wrong...

We've done the WOC dessert party twice, and in my mind, it's the only way to do WOC. It's so nice to be able to SIT to enjoy the show, and we've had fantastic service each time.

In terms of whether to delay a trip to DL for WOC, I agree with others who have pointed out that there are so many things to do at DL that I wouldn't necessarily postpone a trip just to be able to see WOC. It's a good show under the proper viewing conditions and worth seeing, but I'm sure it's worth planning a trip around when it will be running.

Trying to chat with AMEX about missing starpoints, I never did get points for my tax payment though it counted towards my minimum spend. It was during the period where they were having trouble with points posting, and they never did show up... I want my 1500 points dang it!

AMEX CSR: Here is the list of things that won't earn poits: blah blah blah, fees, balance transfers, returns, person to person payments, gift cards, reloadable/prepaid cards... So those won't earn points.

Thanks dude, so helpful.

I did buy several hundred in gift cards on this statement, at the grocery store with other items, but their beta version shows I earned points on that. It does not show points on my tax payment, or the fee I paid to file through tax act, both on April first. Other than that, I have zero items on his list of non-eligible spend. :sad2:

I have a sticky note on my desk about my missing SPG points for that time period as well. I had three smaller transactions that didn't get points, none of them in the non-eligible categories. I'm trying to be patient until I receive my July statement because I recall someone being told the missing points would be credited by July, but if they don't show up then, I'll be calling, chatting, etc.

Not that this is going to make or break anyone, most likely, but I just noticed that my SW anniversary points counted towards my next CP in the little tracker on my account page. I didn't think those counted?

I'm planning to have DH get SW cards anyways.

What are his stats? I'm sorry. Thats such a bummer.

4/24, 1/12, 0/6, 0/30
5/24 dropped off on May 12. He has a checking account with Chase (3 years old). He has CSR, CF, CFU. Credit score is about 825.
He takes real estate photos for appraisals, so we chose Real Estate categories. None of the subcategories applied so we chose "Other" options for those. Annual business income $1700, business open for 10 years.

I also lowered one of his limits by 5K a few weeks ago. I can’t remember exactly what his ratio is at the moment but it’s right around 30-35% IIRC.

Ugh... real estate. It seems such a trouble category! I recall @Psychodisney and maybe @CyndiLouWho ? had trouble with their CIP applications when choosing real estate. I wonder if Chase’s approval algorithms have different standards for different categories.

Amex Offers on my SPG Biz went from like 57 available yesterday to 13 available today. I've almost maxed out the Lowes offer on one card, will start on the AU card soon.

So we bought this house. I specifically asked for a inspector that did a moisture test because there was 2 areas I was concerned about. He said there were leaks at one time, but they were not actively wet. Well, on day one we decided to actually open the wall and check. The ac drain was actively leaking in the upstairs bathroom wall and down to the master closet. At minimum a 5 gallon bucket a day. In one week we're ripped out the bathroom, etc to let things dry and now we've got the rebuild it all. Making great use of that Lowes offer and meeting that CSR msr at the same time.

Same thing happened with the offers on my Amex Platinum...

Y'know, I knew that, but because it's actually something he does on the side he felt he could justify it to a human if necessary. I guess it's necessary.

I have a lot of catching up to do, but need to see if I can get an answer to my question:

If I book a flight through the Chase portal for flights on United (instead of transferring points), do we get credit for miles flown when booking that way (as if it was a paid flight)?

We have another last minute trip to visit our other daughter on her study abroad in Australia. We didn't think we were going to be able to go, but have decided to do it at the beginning of her trip since we can't go at the end of the semester. It's almost the same number of points to book through the portal vs transferring the points to United to book and we have a better flight time option through the portal.

Our example:

1. We could transfer 80,000 points to United to book the round trip flight from STL to SYD.

2. We could book through the portal for 81,xxx points, but we'd have a better flight time going down (mainly because the flight we could get through the portal "costs" 57,500 miles on United.com for the trip down. We don't have enough points to choose it when transferring points).

Advantage of booking through portal - better flight time and possible earning miles for the travel.
Downside - ??? I'm not sure, so want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

Thanks so much for all your help! We wouldn't even be able to consider this if not for this board!

Fingers crossed he gets approved on recon. If he needs to reapply in 30 days, I’d probably change the category to:

Arts, Entertainment, and Recreation >
Independent Artists, Writers, Performers >
Independent Artists/Writers/Performers.

@Lain I'm going to see how comfortable he feels with calling before we get the letter. We're about to do our entire HVAC system and the CIP was a key factor. I don't want eyes on his account though.

Not that I'm going to be applying for a Chase biz card any time soon, but since it's brought up and I'll forget when I get around to applying, my biz is a rental house. What would I use to avoid this issue since my rental is all the way across the country if they ask about that they may want to know why I need a biz card when the management co takes care of it all. Just forward thinking :D

Same thing happened with the offers on my Amex Platinum...

Amex offers on all of my cards dropped to hardly any today also.

Weird thing with mine is that I noticed on the phone app that the Staples offer was there on two of the cards where it wasn't before. So I got on to add it from my phone and computer at same time and it isn't at all on the computer. Just the app. And only a few offers. The site must be having a glitch.

I haven't had much time in the past week to follow and post in this thread too. So here's my poor attempt to catch up.

@MrPTato: Love the avatar change! Is that your DD? The look on her face!

Yes...that is my 4yo. First time with a mickey bar and it put me out of my comfort zone. I don't like messes and having a mickey bar on a very warm day tested my limits. I went on ToT while DW got that and she had most of it. I ended up holding it while she used the restroom. It was just dripping down the stick. o_O

Attaching my DD 18m with something not quite as messy.

I recall @Psychodisney also had rental property out-of-state and Chase wanted verification of business name on a CIP app, so she went in branch and faxed a copy of a sales tax certificate and was promptly approved.

In your situation, it sounds like you are the sole proprietor of a real estate rental business with the rental property being the sole (income generating) asset of your business. Your property management company is an expense. You’ve contracted with them to manage the property, just like you would a landscaper, plumber or electrician to take care of your property. Subject to whatever agreement you have with the property management company, you can get rid of this expense. But you shouldn’t have to for the purposes of applying for a CIP, because the application asks for total revenue, nothing about expenses or profit. The total annual revenue is the total rent your property generates in a year. No need to account for expenses like property management, utilities, insurance, taxes, etc.

If Chase asks for verification, you could probably just send in a copy of the first page of the current lease for that property that should list you (or your formal business entity) as the landlord/lessor, the property management company as your agent, the lessees and the amount of rent they’ve agreed to pay that’s your revenue.

So cute! I have a DD4 and she had her first Mickey ice cream bar this past March over spring break. Totally get the parental neat freak impulses! Because our little lady insists on wearing her prettiest dresses to Disneyland, and we all don’t like messes (even though DD always finds a way), we had to cover her up with napkins and have a big pack of wipes on hand and ready to wipe melting chocolate and cream off. She liked the Mickey bar, but it wasn’t quite the picture perfect memory with all those napkins tucked in and over her dress.
