DVC vacations are what percentage of your vacations?

Probably 25% of our vacations. When we stayed at the Grand Californian on points, we did 3 days at Disneyland and then drove up to San Francisco on Hwy 1. Without DVC, I am not sure we would have gone to California at all.

Great topic OP:-)

We purchased WLV in 2006. 1st few years Disney multiple times a year. Only other trips were Fire island/montauk in summer. We then combined WDW with cruising out of Port Canaveral for Many years.

Last few years we are actually traveling the world. 2015 land tour Italy, with a Med cruise. 2016 Baltic cruise with land stay in Holland.
2017 Hawaii (Aulani and POA cruise around islands) so happy we saw the big island last year. Heart breaking for all the residents.
This summer is Alaska land sea and DD sweet 16 trip to WDW.

So we started at say 90 percent WDW and have been working our way down.
Very happy with my DVC:-)

About 25%. Typically do Disney twice, one big international trip, Caribbean or cruise in the winter, and a couple long weekends domestically.

When we first bought in it was 80-100% but then the membership included free park tickets! After the free park tickets went away if dropped to 50-70% with a trip each other year to Maine, New Hampshire, Amsterdam, UK, etc. Since the kids graduated college, it has been 0-80%. Some years we go to Europe twice and other years it's DVC and a Disney cruise and a trip to visit relatives.

Been members since 1995 when our son was a toddler (now 27). DVC vacations were then and have always been a very small part of our travel. We believe that travel is the best education no matter how old you are; so we have seen a great deal of the world. It has made our family smarter, more tolerant and citizens of the world. We have been places, had experiences and made incredible memories.

Yes, we are fortunate that we could own DVC and do lots of other travel. But, if we had not been able to both, we would definitely given up owning DVC over other travel. Why go back year after the WDW when you can experience the real world...

Nearly all of our vacations are Disney trips, this pattern pre-dates our DVC ownership. DW and I have visited many places in the U.S. & Europe, but we just feel really comfortable at WDW. :earsboy:

I'm at about 50%. Have family in the U.K. so I spend some time there, and do want to see parts of Europe in the next few years. I also feel really comfortable in WDW. It's probably the only place I would travel to solo.

whether their DVC membership represents just a portion of their trips.
We bought with the intention of going every other year, so for us DVC or WDW is 50% of our vacations. We really only take one big vacation a year with smaller day trips or long weekends here and there. We find it is a good balance as there is so much else to see in the US. Of course one of our non WDW trips will be going to the mecca of Disneyland, but not using our DVC.

Maybe 25% Or less? We just joined, and historically have done a Disney trip every couple years (most often to DL as we are on the West coast). We do a week or two in Hawaii every couple years, a week of camping for sail school every summer plus multiple long weekends, and then a variety of other trips-did a week in Mexico this year, for instance. My younger kids are in a Spanish immersion school and we’d like to get them somewhere Spanish speaking every year. I love Disney and would go once or twice a year if I could, but money and my family make me pull that back a little :)
