We are planning to do dinner and the outdoor movie during our December stay at the Fort and want to try the Chuck Wagon. Tried to get an answer on the Restaurant forum but didnt get any replies. So I am turning to my fellow campers to see if they have dined there before the movie and then did smores for dessert before the movie. On the menu, the burgers and bbq sound good but I am also very interested in the Pioneer Berry Salad with Grilled Chicken. Has anyone tried it? I usually have a pretty good appetite when camping and outdoors and am wondering if the salad serving is enough by itself or should I plan on also getting a sandwich (maybe split the two items with my husband if the helpings are generous enough.)

Planning ahead, any idea how long it takes to order and receive the meal? Thanks in advance!

Can't help you with those items but I got a great vegetarian wrap from there. It had heaps of flavour. It was quite a decent size and I ended up giving some to DH. But I'm not a huge eater. We were the only ones ordering so it was pretty quick.

Thanks Princess Belle39, your description of the wrap matches a picture I found of it. I also found a pic of the salad online and while it looks refreshingly delicious, it is on the smaller side. Perhaps I will pair it with the veggie wrap and have a healthy vegetarian meal.

Just had the cheeseburger Friday. It had real good flavor, and that with fries only took about 5min. The fries were string fries - my favorite - don't like the thick ones. Can't help with other items.

Thanks North of Mouse! Happy to hear that we can get a good burger "down the block" from our tent! And, not have to order and wait for half an hour. This will be a fun trip returning to tent camping instead of using our travel trailer.

A couple weeks back they had fried cheese sticks as a special. It took probably 5-10 minutes in line (we showed up about 20 minutes prior to the singing start, after fire lighting) and another 5 minutes to cook. My parents ate there last week and they enjoyed their burgers.

This is a helpful post for us! We are going December 2018 too and plan on eating from truck one night while we are at sing along and doing s’mores:)

Forgot to mention they had a special adult beverage of hot chocolate with old smokey moonshine (it was 30-32 degrees) a couple months back. That made the campfire warmer in more ways than one!

Thanks everyone for all the information!! But ... take a look at the menu!! Just when I was thinking that the veggie wrap and the smaller size salad would be good and now the veggie wrap is gone! Good to know that the salad is large and will def give it a try. My goal of enjoying supper with a movie and bonfire will work out great especially knowing the wait wont be too long from the ordering. Of course, that's going to be a function of the crowd size. Happy Meals for Everyone!
