Preferred Pop Century or Standard Caribbean Beach?

We (myself, DH and DGS) are heading to WDW after school is out for 9d/8n. We usually stay at Pop, but have enjoyed a couple of visits at POR. When pricing this year's vacation, I realized we can stay at CB for ~$100 more. I understand that there is a lot of work going on at the resort, but we do not spend much time in the room and I'm always open to staying at new places (especially when the price is right!)

Any thoughts?

I'd be interested in the answer too! We are making the first trip in about 3 years and chose to stay at CBR instead of POP. CBR is one of the few resorts we haven't stayed at. I've been watching a few videos on YouTube & the construction doesn't look that bad....if you aren't staying anywhere around the front of the property. I'm going to request Jamaica or even Trinidad South, we will be driving so there shouldn't be a problem with getting around.

You can't request Trinidad South. Trinidad South has Pirate Themed rooms only which is a separate booking category. So you'd have to book a Pirate Themed room to be put there.

Jamaica 45 and Aruba 51 are both fantastic locations.

OH.....good to know! Thanks for the info, I will put in a request for those two sections & hope I get lucky. Thanks!!

Pop! CBR is the only resort we've stayed at so far that we disliked. And especially with the construction I would avoid it. We really love Pop, and the new rooms are great.

I recently picked Pop over CBR: more food options (2 big food courts if you count AoA), single bus stop (plus the option to hop on the AoA bus if it shows up first), and the renovated rooms at Pop are more appealing to me than the CBR rooms. The selling points for CBR would have been the more themed pool + slide, and somewhat more serene setting (... depending on location vs construction).

But what about if you are planning a trip at the beginning of 2019, like February? Would your suggestions be different? I would think a lot of the construction would be completed by then, at least the Centertown area

I would choose Pop over CBR, construction or not.
