Where In The World 21. We are now completely legal!!!

After being on the market for 2 LONG years it's truly a blessing. The funny thing though...when they were at the Title Office signing the papers their realtor received ANOTHER phone call from a family that wanted to look at the house! It's been about 9 months since ANY interest was expressed at all and then...BAM...in 3 weeks another inquiry at the closing of the sale! :faint: :tink:

Park, right? MK or AK?

This is from the MK. :tink:

party: A little over 3 weeks of 24/7 "stress" is done and official. DD and her husband have sold their "oversize" house! party: The Monday before Thanksgiving a buyer's real estate agent called at 9 AM wanting to come look at their house at 10. DD left work and we did a quick "clean up", leaving as they were driving up. They received word that they were interested in not only the house and 2 acres of land but the entire 4 acre property with the rent house. :faint: By Wednesday morning an offer was made and by 5 that evening DD and SIL agreed to it....since the offer was actually MORE than they'd originally asked for. :yay: House inspection was set up for the following Monday and SIL was given 10 days to make necessary adjustments. Renters were told they'd need to vacate by years end and DD and SIL began looking for a rent house. They were hesitant to begin packing until final offer was made...the family had backed out of a previous deal 24 hours before they were to sign papers and frankly, they didn't trust them. They signed the pre-sale papers and were given until Dec. 8th to move. Found a nice house to rent which was great; downside is the fact that it's 7 miles from us. :sad2: A short 7 minute commute but when they've lived on the same street for YEARS, it's hard for Mimi and Pappy to let that go. They were preparing to begin moving after the weekend in Indiana and New Orleans only to learn the Friday they each left in different directions that the family wanted them out by Dec. 6th so they could move in. We all agreed to pitch in and make it happen but that was also time it decided to rain here for the first time in weeks...and get cold! A miserable few days but "mission accomplished" :faint:; papers were signed Wednesday morning and the "3 day change your mind if you want to cancel the sale" :rotfl: passed at 5 PM this evening! party: Such a relief for them to downsize :dance3:; not perfect (Cici is a "handfull" :faint: at her new home) but we're all adjusting. A VERY stressful few weeks for all of us but we're now REALLY looking forward to Christmas and a great new year! :goodvibes (DIANE...NOW we're celebrating! :rotfl2:) :tink:

That's definitely a mixed blessing Karolyn but still good news!

A few years ago we had almost given up on selling our 'forever house lot' in a beautiful community. No one expressed interest and due to HOA regs we had to use their realtor (ugh!). Out of the blue after 3 years on the market a buyer indicated that they were choosing between our lot and another nearby. They kept postponing their decision for almost three months when the realtor finally called us with the good news; we had won out but we still lost $30,000. We almost didn't care; by then we desperately wanted to get rid of it!!!

7 miles isn't that far Karolyn! You will soon get used to it!

I feel your "pain" :rotfl:; torturous journey  from the realization that between their jobs and the extra activities of their children they couldn't take care of 4 acres and a large house...and the sale of that house and land. :faint: It was hard enough to decide to sell their "forever home" and the decision was changed many times when "life" would settle down but it's a good deal for them. You're so right...7 miles isn't that far but will sure miss those surprise DGD visits when they pop open the back door and yell "MIMI". :sad1: They were willing to take a loss too but the right buyer came along and they actual sold at the "break even point". After only a few days I can already see a more relaxed son-in-law ... he did NOT like cutting grass on 4 acres! :rotfl2: Now we'll wait to see how long it takes for the OTHER "shoe to drop" and youngest DD announces she's ready to move to Colorado! :rolleyes1 (They're coming to visit your "neck of the woods" again after Christmas :goodvibes.) :tink:

Where are we? In the MK? Adventurland? The Dole place?

Just starting on this one and you're the only one asking questions so far...I know Diane has a really, REALLY busy weekend so you may have to go it alone unless one of our other regulars checks in. Yes, this is in Adventureland but not the Dole place. :tink:
